00:07:18I consider that our present sufferings
00:07:23are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us.

00:07:33the revelation of the sons of God
00:07:36For the creation was subject to futility
00:07:43not by its own will
00:07:47but because of the one
00:07:49who subjected it in hope
00:07:51that in the creation itself
00:07:54will be set free

00:28:15Yeah, I look a little disheveled today, many of you probably remember Maggie, my dog, she went to puppy heaven yesterday, and I am just hanging in there.
00:28:31So let's talk about building the kingdom.
00:28:36This is the last in our series of Faith Beyond the Walls.
00:28:44We began with the call to go, and we're concluding with, and this is why we do it.
00:28:51And this is called building the kingdom.
00:28:58That's the sermon title today.
00:29:00Let me share my scripture with you.
00:29:03It says,
00:29:05Then I saw new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
00:29:15And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
00:29:26And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, See, the home of God is among mortals.
00:29:37God will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
00:29:51He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
00:29:56Death will be no more.
00:29:59Mourning and crying and pain will be no more.
00:30:03For the first things have passed away.
00:30:06And the one who was seated on the throne says, See,
00:30:20I am making all things new.
00:30:24Also, he said, Write this down.
00:30:28For these words are trustworthy and true.
00:30:32Then he said to me, It is done.
00:30:36I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.
00:30:41To the thirsty, I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life.
00:30:51To those who conquer.
00:30:54I just lost my place, y'all.
00:30:59To those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God.
00:31:12And they will be my children.
00:31:15Now, I want to go ahead and add another verse to my reading today.
00:31:24But as for the cowardly, the ones, the faithless ones, the polluted, the murderers, the sexually immoral.
00:31:35Yes, I'm going to clarify that.
00:31:36The scorners, the idolaters, and the liars.
00:31:40Their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.
00:31:52May God bless the reading of this word.
00:31:55Now, may the meditation of our hearts and the words of this mouth be ever-pleasing to you, our Lord, our God.
00:32:05In Jesus' name, amen.
00:32:08Now, I want to look right away so people sit there and see.
00:32:12They automatically jump to gay, gay, gay, gay, gay when you hear sexually immoral.
00:32:17But that's not what that means.
00:32:24As a matter of fact, when it says homosexual in 1 Corinthians 6, and it refers to it in other places, that's not what it means.
00:32:35To be sexually immoral means that you are having indiscriminate sex.
00:32:41You don't care who you sleep with as long as you get yours.
00:32:47And there's a lot of that going around.
00:32:53So, when we talk about sexual immorality, or we talk about the sexually immoral, it is not talking about LGBTQIA people exclusively.
00:33:08But being gay or lesbian does not qualify as sexual immorality.
00:33:21Being a horny goat, somebody that turns your tail up or sticks your whatever into something else, just to get your jollies.
00:33:48That is sexual immorality.
00:33:51That is sexual immorality.
00:33:52Having sex just to have sex.
00:33:56Having sex because you have to fulfill a need.
00:34:01That's why we are given spouses.
00:34:07That's why we have people who God calls to be our helpmate.
00:34:15So, that you can fulfill those things.
00:34:22So, when we are talking about sexual immorality, we are talking about people that are sleeping with everything.
00:34:32And I do mean everything.
00:34:41So, just to clarify that.
00:34:45And then it's talking about, and it's talking about people that do not live, they live faithless lives.
00:34:52They don't, they don't believe in God.
00:34:54They don't want to believe in God.
00:34:55They don't want to believe in God.
00:34:56They don't care.
00:34:57They want to do it themselves.
00:34:58They want, don't want to depend and trust in God.
00:35:01They don't want to do this.
00:35:02They don't want to do that.
00:35:06These people, they're not going to be there.
00:35:10They will be in the lake of fire.
00:35:13But I don't want to focus on that.
00:35:20I want to focus on the point here where God will be their people.
00:35:26God will be among his people.
00:35:28And God himself will be their God.
00:35:33This level of holiness is, how the kids say it now, off the chain.
00:35:48Our goal in this message today is to get the culmination
00:36:00is to get the culmination of the whole message.
00:36:14We've talked about go.
00:36:17We've talked about being active.
00:36:19And it means to go beyond the walls, to go outside of the four walls of the church,
00:36:25to minister to more than just other Christians.
00:36:29It means to take care of people outside of the church.
00:36:34And why do we do it?
00:36:35We do it because as we come to this conclusion, we find this ultimate end and our ultimate hope.
00:36:42We want to give them the ultimate hope.
00:36:44And that ultimate hope is eternal life with Jesus Christ, our Lord.
00:36:49We're not building something temporary.
00:36:52We're not building something that will burn up and fade.
00:36:57But instead, we are participating in God's eternal plan.
00:37:02We are participating in his plan.
00:37:05And what I want to do here is I want to paint you a picture.
00:37:10New heaven and new earth.
00:37:14That beyond the walls, our work is not in vain.
00:37:18Sometimes we don't get the appreciation.
00:37:21Yesterday was a very difficult day.
00:37:24And some of you may be sitting there going, it's just a dog.
00:37:37I've been counseling people through the night.
00:37:47Talking to people through the night that when I say Maggie, my dog has, she died.
00:38:02She reached the end of her life.
00:38:07And, um, she affected them so much.
00:38:15She affected them that it broke their heart.
00:38:20One young man that I, I would go to church with.
00:38:25The craziest thing about it is people would come to the door when they would see me pull up.
00:38:32Because they knew that they had to open the door for Maggie.
00:38:35And as soon as I'd open the door for the door of the car, she would be out of the car.
00:38:41And in the church.
00:38:44And she would tear through the church until she found this one particular person.
00:38:50And then she wouldn't have to walk over again.
00:38:54Because as far as he was concerned, her legs were too short.
00:38:57And she would tire easily.
00:38:59So he would carry her around.
00:39:01And I didn't exist at that point.
00:39:06I only existed in the car and at home.
00:39:10But when I came to church, she was this person's dog.
00:39:13She was all about him.
00:39:15She would see that things were getting stressful.
00:39:27And she would start dancing around like she had to go to the bathroom.
00:39:30So I would get up in the middle of something and I'd walk out.
00:39:34Just to have her run around and sniff a little bit.
00:39:37And I'd go, are you going to go to the bathroom or not?
00:39:40And she'd look at me like, nope.
00:39:41And then run back to the door.
00:39:43She would do things to just get me out of circumstances so that I would regroup.
00:39:55When you live a life with a family that's mine, we're kind of distant.
00:40:02We stay to ourselves.
00:40:07And I am unique to my family because I like people.
00:40:15I like being around people.
00:40:17And that interaction, I don't get that.
00:40:21But Maggie provided that for me.
00:40:26And yesterday was hard.
00:40:28And then in the midst of that, we had other parishioners going to the hospital.
00:40:32We had people getting sick.
00:40:34We had other, we had people showing up on scenes of accidents.
00:40:39And we prayed and it just, we pulled over on the side of the road.
00:40:44And I told her, I said, I told one person, I said, I pulled over on the side of the road.
00:40:49I'm about 20 miles from home.
00:40:51And I'm not sure why, at which point they pulled up on a major accident.
00:41:01And we prayed.
00:41:03And it was rough, but it was peaceful.
00:41:07And I can't explain that to you.
00:41:09It was the most difficult day.
00:41:11And by the time I got home, there was nothing.
00:41:13I had nothing more to give.
00:41:17I had nothing more to give.
00:41:19I had nothing more.
00:41:23No more energy.
00:41:24I had nothing.
00:41:30And I just couldn't do anymore.
00:41:36To the point that I was done.
00:41:39And at the end of that day, I said, what's it all?
00:41:44Why?
00:41:45Why?
00:41:46Why?
00:41:47Why do I have to go through all of this garbage?
00:41:52And you may be asking that in your own life.
00:41:56Why do you have to go through all the garbage that you go through?
00:42:04Why do you have to do all the stuff you do just.
00:42:07To be something better than you are.
00:42:12Than you think.
00:42:14Your struggles.
00:42:18Are strength to somebody else.
00:42:24I've had.
00:42:25Men.
00:42:26In the church.
00:42:30See me as a disabled pastor.

00:42:51church what's their excuse i saw a man preaching he's much older than the first time i saw him but

00:43:05talking about building the church he's talking about strengthening the body of christ and and
00:43:11and god calling him to be a pastor and he says how are you going to build the church
00:43:18he says i'm doing what i'm supposed to do i'm sorry i have cerebral palsy and i was called to
00:43:25preach and i'm speech impediment and i was called to preach and i'm doing it
00:43:29i have cerebral palsy and i answered god's call
00:43:37what are you doing about it friends
00:43:43you have a message you have a mission you may struggle and your struggles are are your struggles
00:43:54are a testimony of god's power in your life your challenges are a testimony of god's power
00:44:03in your life especially when you overcome
00:44:06when you overcome those things
00:44:11i challenge you in the name of jesus christ build the kingdom you got this
