00:00We go to our news.
00:02Thousands of social movements, activists,
00:05Indianas peoples and Colombola associations
00:08are on the streets in Belang today
00:11for a solution to global climate change.
00:16Our correspondent Brian Muir has the details.
00:20I'm in the middle of a massive protest today
00:24on the streets of Belang.
00:25It's a counter-protest to COP30
00:29and it's divided into three blocks.
00:31It's been organized by the People's Summit.
00:33There's at least 100,000 people out on the streets today
00:36and the organizers have divided the group into three blocks.
00:42The first block is called Land and Territory.
00:45The objective of this block is to fight
00:47for more sovereignty over indigenous lands
00:51and to fight for more protection
00:53against the mining companies and loggers
00:57who are breaking in and invading the indigenous lands
01:00that have already been demarcated.
01:02The second group that's out here today
01:04is clamoring for fair cities.
01:08And what they mean,
01:09the housing movements that are out here,
01:11is that when environmental disasters hit,
01:15it's always the poorest people
01:17who are hurt the most by it.
01:18It's always the favela residents
01:20who are affected by the landslides,
01:23floods, and cyclones that are becoming more and more common
01:27in this age of rising global temperatures.
01:30The third block out here today
01:32is called Internationalism and Solidarity with the People.
01:36And this block is calling for a radical transformation
01:39of society inter-socialism,
01:43blaming capitalism with a climate crisis.
01:45So the march is ongoing.
01:49Estimates are already that over 100,000 people
01:52came out here today on the streets of Belang.
