00:05Sarawak, Malaysia. Sabah is going to be here.
00:11Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim took a veiled jab today at a past administration over the long-standing delays in Sabah's portion of the Pan-Borneo Highway,
00:21contrasting the stalled progress in the state with Sarawak's near-complete stretch.
00:25In Sarawak, the highway is 99% complete as of July with full completion expected in 2026.
00:34But in Sabah, progress lags with some Phase 1A packages finished, most at 81.7% completion and Phase 1B only 3% underway.
00:45While Anwar did not name any administration, Beaufort UMNO chief Awang Asli Lakat said last month that the project could once again become a political casualty
00:57if Warisan were to return to power in Sabah after the Warisan-led government's 2019 decision to terminate the project delivery partner contract for the state's portion delayed progress and burdened the people.
01:10Anwar also acknowledged public frustration over water supply problems, saying the matter was being tackled and should be resolved within the next two years.
01:21Separately, he stressed Pucca Jaya's commitment to resolving Sabah's outstanding rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963,
01:29starting with the 40% revenue entitlement, and added that federal-state talks are set to begin Monday.
