Palace press officer debunks Zaldy Co's new expose on President's budget insertions
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro on Nov. 15, 2025 dismisses as 'lies' and 'propaganda' the claims of former Ako Bicol party-list representative Zaldy Co that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. orchestrated the P100 billion insertions in the 2025 national budget. In a video message, Castro cited alleged inconsistencies in Co’s exposé released earlier in the day, claiming that he, himself, together with his staff and security guards delivered suitcases containing money to Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez. Castro also rejected the notion that Marcos ordered an insertion of P100 billion worth of projects as the President vetoed around P194 billion in the 2025 budget. She also said that the dates shown in the photos of the supposed deliveries of suitcases of cash were done before the bicameral conference committee in November 2024.
