00:00Let's start with the defending national champion, UConn Huskies.

00:04UConn, number one team in the country coming into the year.

00:082-0 to begin the season.

00:10Geno's troops look to be locked and loaded.

00:13Why are they locked and loaded?

00:15You start with that lady right there, and that's AZ Fudd.

00:18Got to remember, folks, AZ Fudd was the most outstanding player in last year's Final Four.

00:24And when AZ Fudd finally got going from recovering from her ACL tear,

00:30it was that game on that Sunday at South Carolina where they blew the doors off.

00:36And when I looked at them and said, uh-oh, they're going to win a national championship.

00:41And I'll say it right now, and Matt, my George producer, will back me up.

00:45I called them winning that championship before their season started

00:49because I expected her to have the season that she had.

00:52But it's deeper than that this year.

00:55It's also Sarah Strong, who could be the best player in women's college basketball.

01:00Oh, she's also a sophomore, and she's getting you 21.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists per game.

01:07But to me, the key cog for this team is K.K. Arnold.

01:11A K.K. Arnold that two years ago was a starter as a freshman came off the bench

01:16because Paige was back for her last year.

01:19And K.K. is off to 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2 assists per game.

01:25Defender, locked down, does all the grunt work.

01:29She is going to be a problem.

01:31But there's deeper than that.

01:33Caroline Deshermi, who had injuries concerns over the years.

01:37Alafi is back.

01:39But it's also the play of Kaylee Heckle.

01:41You know Kaylee Heckle? Remember her?

01:42She was at USC, but she's a New York kid, came back East Coast to be a transfer player for Gino.

01:48Remember, Gino does not go into the portal much.

01:51But this team is locked and loaded, and there is a reason why they are the favorites

01:58to win the national championship this year, and that's the UConn Huskies.

02:02Let's head to maybe the most exciting player in women's college basketball,

02:07and that's Hanna Hidalgo.

02:09You know, I don't know.

02:10Maybe I just, maybe I like just talking about Jersey kids all the time.

02:14But Hanna Hidalgo, and the number 15 fighting Irish on Notre Dame,

02:19is in a year of transition, right?

02:21When you look at the fact that that dynamic backcourt that she had with Olivia Miles,

02:25we'll talk about Olivia in a couple of minutes.

02:28But Olivia Miles transfers to TCU.

02:30Sonia Citron goes top five in the WNBA draft.

02:37Kylie Watson, another Jersey kid, transfers out and goes to Villanova.

02:45This puts a lot of pressure on Hanna and Coach Ivey.

02:51You got to remember this, folks.

02:53Hanna Hidalgo is a flat-out scorer.

02:55Getting you almost 30 points per game, five and a half assists, seven rebounds.

03:01Bro, she's five foot five.

03:05And she has the ability to wreck games for her ability to steal the ball.

03:12But there's another player that stayed back for them that's of note,

03:16and that's Cassandra Prosper.

03:17It's getting you 21 points per game, five and a half rebounds.

03:21So they have a two-headed monster, and if you look at it,

03:25they haven't really played anybody yet, folks.

03:26So let's just be honest with these stats.

03:29You got another player, Evidence DeJesus,

03:31who's a transfer, giving you 18 and a half points per game.

03:34K.K. Bransford's giving you 17 points per game,

03:3717 points and nine rebounds per game.

03:39So when you look at this team,

03:41they have to kind of reload themselves via the transfer portal.

03:45I think it's what's of note to look at this team and say,

03:49can they put it together?

03:51I think this is a big year for Coach Ivey,

03:53because I feel like at times this team has underachieved when it comes to March.

03:57I know they made a run last year,

03:59and they got bit by the TCU bug not once, twice.

04:05with arguably one of the best players in the country,

04:08a preseason All-American,

04:10and that's Hannah Dalgo.
