00:00:01Just all merged with the rest of the team.
00:00:04And what it looks like we've got, and where we're staying,
00:00:06is in some cage.
00:00:08I feel like a bunch of animals with people watching us.
00:00:10The reverse zoo.
00:00:12Don't feed the animals.
00:00:14Actually, please, please feed the animals.
00:00:17The boys are outside,
00:00:20so we can fit our two new friends in here today.
00:00:23A little bit of a bone we built on the outside of the cage,
00:00:26so we know there's hippo around,
00:00:28we're not as elephants around.
00:00:30And we really do have to make sure that we're safe.
00:00:35The plan is for the outsiders to climb on top of the rage cage
00:00:40if danger approaches.
00:00:42In the distance, there are noises that we can't identify.
00:00:58What the f*** is that?
00:01:16It's like playing in that African sound.
00:01:20I'm scared of a lot of s*** out of me.
00:01:32You never know what's out there.
00:01:34Seriously.
00:01:35What the f***?
00:01:37After battling for survival.
00:01:46What?
00:01:47Holy s***.
00:01:48What?
00:01:49In a post-apocalyptic land.
00:01:52Do you want me to hold this?
00:01:53Yes.
00:01:54Oh s***.
00:01:57For 25 days.
00:01:59If I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die fighting.
00:02:03Definitely got him.
00:02:04Oh!
00:02:05I caught the fish!
00:02:06It's better time!
00:02:07Yeah!
00:02:08Money!
00:02:09All right, guys.
00:02:10Let's do this.
00:02:11The three remaining teams pushed further north,
00:02:14toward their escape.
00:02:16Oh my gosh.
00:02:17We need to get out of this place.
00:02:19Back to civilization.
00:02:20Targeting the last collection of viable water holes.
00:02:24Eight miles from the edge of civilization.
00:02:27Oh, thank God.
00:02:28It looks like it opens up.
00:02:29That's just weird.
00:02:30This is a big old cage.
00:02:32With only an abandoned cage on a failed game reserve to call home.
00:02:36What is this?
00:02:38Oh my God!
00:02:39Two teams joined forces.
00:02:41Hey!
00:02:42Welcome to the rage cage.
00:02:43What are we walking into?
00:02:45As Thiel scored another win for her team.
00:02:48Woo!
00:02:49Woo!
00:02:50Yeah!
00:02:51And after discovering a nearby slaughterhouse.
00:02:54Ooh.
00:02:55Creepy as hell.
00:02:56Like a butcher shop.
00:02:57There's some good materials.
00:02:59Oh, I wouldn't stay here.
00:03:00Wesson's D reached the last source of water on the map.
00:03:04What the f***?
00:03:05Hey!
00:03:07People keep showing up at her doorstep.
00:03:09But now, for the first time ever.
00:03:12There's no one coming to save us.
00:03:14We're on our own.
00:03:15There is no rescue in sight.
00:03:17There's no trucks.
00:03:18There's no helicopters.
00:03:19They must forge their own escape out of the wasteland on day 35.
00:03:24We're going on a little adventure.
00:03:25That's going to be an arduous trick through that.
00:03:26It's going to be a long slog.
00:03:27It's going to be worth it.
00:03:28Me and Wes seeing some good buildings and there's some good materials in there.
00:03:29Stay, said he saw some sort of structure on the way in.
00:03:30So we're just going to go up, seeing what materials we can pick up.
00:03:31We've got an escape at the end of the week.
00:03:32We've got an escape at the end of the week.
00:03:33We've got an escape.
00:03:34We all know we're going to need a lot of energy for that.
00:03:39So until we're putting food on the plate pretty regularly.
00:03:40That's going to be our number one objective every day.
00:03:42So whenever you need to take breaks guys, like take breaks.
00:03:43That is a whole lot of work.
00:03:44It's going to be an arduous trick through that.
00:03:45It's going to be a long slog.
00:03:46It's going to be worth it.
00:03:47Me and Wes seeing some good buildings and there's some good materials in there.
00:03:51Stay, said he saw some sort of structure on the way in.
00:03:54So we're just going to go up, seeing what materials we can pick up.
00:03:57We've got an escape at the end of the week.
00:03:59We all know we're going to need a lot of energy for that.
00:04:02So until we're putting food on the plate pretty regularly, that's going to be our number
00:04:05one objective every day.
00:04:07Whenever you need to take breaks guys, like take breaks.
00:04:11It is hot.
00:04:12We are, we don't have any water with us.
00:04:14So just be smart.
00:04:15Four weeks in and right from the beginning, it's always been surreal to me that I'm walking
00:04:19around naked in one of the harshest environments on the planet.
00:04:22From the animals that want to eat you, from the heat that wants to kill you.
00:04:26There are all the same risks, except we're more tired.
00:04:30We're more dehydrated.
00:04:31We have less fuel than when we did when we were coming in.
00:04:34That becomes a real problem, especially when you're facing what could be a really arduous
00:04:38escape.
00:04:39Still Africa, still the apocalypse.
00:04:42Oh.
00:04:53The reason I'm doing this, it covers up your scent, breaks up your contrast.
00:04:59Just grab some waterhole mud, full of velvet dung, fish guts, God knows what else.
00:05:06We need a big score.
00:05:08We have a lot of people here now.
00:05:10We have eight people.
00:05:11That's eight mouths to feed.
00:05:12That's eight hungry stomachs and a week left.
00:05:15We need one big kill.
00:05:17If not, we're going to end up having people tapping.
00:05:20And we're too close to the end to let any of that happen.
00:05:23Hopefully, I can come back with some food and get some protein in our bellies.
00:05:34All right.
00:05:36It's looking like I'm coming up on some water over here.
00:05:39But just from here, I can see that there's action down here.
00:05:42I got New Prince.
00:05:43I got Wildebeest.
00:05:44I got Impala.
00:05:45I got one, two, three.
00:05:46I got four game trails all converging, wrapping around this guy.
00:05:50And I got natural cover right here.
00:05:52This is perfect.
00:05:53This is an absolute unrelenting hellscape.
00:06:01It is the most temperamental place I have ever been on planet Earth.
00:06:06You know, from heat stroke to hypothermia to things that want to eat you to, you know,
00:06:11there being such very few calories walking around that we have access to.
00:06:16So that's what makes this challenge the hardest challenge I've been on yet.
00:06:20And we got to get out of this hell on Earth all by ourselves.
00:06:25We are not being rescued.
00:06:27I've already built up a pretty good blind area.
00:06:29I've cut down a lot of foliage.
00:06:31I'm going to hunker down here for about the next four hours.
00:06:34Fingers crossed something will come my way.
00:06:50Oh, is this it?
00:06:51Yep.
00:06:52Wow.
00:06:53Look at that.
00:06:54Holy .
00:06:55So is this a slaughterhouse?
00:06:56Yeah, this looks like where they would haul up the animals, use the pulley system, drag
00:07:01them up, drain them, gut them, so they'd be able to hose them down and be able to work
00:07:06the meat.
00:07:07That's pretty wild.
00:07:08Once part of a large hunting reserve, this compound was used as a supply outpost and processing
00:07:13station for large game animals.
00:07:16There's a big structure in there.
00:07:18Yeah.
00:07:19Wow.
00:07:20It's pretty intense.
00:07:21Look at the giraffes here and everything.
00:07:22Yeah.
00:07:23This slaughterhouse, it's just the weirdest feeling.
00:07:26The most creepy, apocalyptic, desperate place.
00:07:32If I just watch out, like the slightest scratch on something in here is like tetanus waiting
00:07:36to happen.
00:07:37Yeah, yeah.
00:07:38I'm going to go in here next.
00:07:43You reckon this is worth taking back?
00:07:47Decent girl in there.
00:07:49It's old sapphire.
00:07:50You catch some good mate.
00:07:52Yes.
00:07:53Another fish basket.
00:07:56Yeah.
00:07:57Awesome.
00:07:59These last few days have been a rollercoaster.
00:08:03We've got so many different things going on in our big boma and so many different people
00:08:08handling things.
00:08:09It's definitely different and require a lot of adjustments.
00:08:13Waz, I got the panel puller and I got some cordage.
00:08:20What are your thoughts on the Wrigleyton?
00:08:22Thoughts on the what?
00:08:23Wrigleyton.
00:08:24Yeah, bring them.
00:08:26Good job, buddy.
00:08:28Any of that interest you?
00:08:30Let's go.
00:08:33Take that as a no.
00:08:36What's this?
00:08:37That is wire.
00:08:38Like it's all ripped up in pieces.
00:08:40The metal's only a little rusted.
00:08:42You could use it for fishing.
00:08:43Huh.
00:08:44Eighth of it open and open the wall.
00:08:46Yeah.
00:08:47And we drag it.
00:08:48Just drag it like a grid line, like a grid line.
00:08:49Yeah.
00:08:50It's going to be hard work to get it, but once it's down there, we roll it out.
00:08:52Yeah.
00:08:53And then, like I said, eight people.
00:08:54Eight people can move, you know, ten feet of chicken wire a piece.
00:08:57It was like a long metal mesh that we're going to be able to use to maybe dredge through or cordon off a section.
00:09:03Maybe try and get some catfish into a more manageable area.
00:09:06I could probably drag this all the way back, too.
00:09:08One, two, three, four.
00:09:10The corrugated iron would certainly give us some more shade during the day, which would allow us to escape this heat.
00:09:16But it would also set up wind walls or fire walls to keep in the heat at night.
00:09:21Should we go and make this effort back, this mile walk back it all with that wire?
00:09:26Yeah.
00:09:29All right.
00:09:31Throughout this entire challenge, when there is absolutely no resources around, it's literally life or death without the implementation of the man-made materials.
00:09:40And so this is our lifeline right now.
00:09:44Oh, my God.
00:09:51I've been here for about a million and a half hours and absolutely nothing.
00:10:03It's something peeing down on me.
00:10:04I think it's well into the 100 degrees already.
00:10:07It's not getting any cooler.
00:10:09So my best best to get out of here, back to camp.
00:10:13But it's a dangerous one.
00:10:15I saw my prince, his whole lefty prince.
00:10:18This is still a pretty cool spot.
00:10:20And I really do think we're going to bring something out of this location here.
00:10:27God dang it, son.
00:10:48Honey, we're home.
00:10:50You guys brought back a whole house.
00:10:52I look over the corner and what do I see?
00:10:54I see the team hauling a building back.
00:10:57We can use that for the Rage Cage.
00:11:00All of these little things, these things that people call trash, are treasured to us.
00:11:05And we're going to treat them as such.
00:11:09Welcome back.
00:11:11Come sit, man.
00:11:12We got water.
00:11:13Good job.
00:11:14That's a lot.
00:11:15Shade, shade, shade.
00:11:16Water.
00:11:17You want some help with that?
00:11:31I'd rather you sit down.
00:11:33What are you thinking of doing, Teal?
00:11:35I'm just going to do some stuff here, just for clocking the sun.
00:11:39We did bring back a lot of corrugated steel from the butcher's house, and that will be resourceful for many things.
00:11:46Right now, the best use of it is blocking this intense afternoon sun.
00:11:51You put a few up there, are you, Maith?
00:11:55I'm doing it.
00:11:56Yeah, no problem.
00:11:57I don't need any help.
00:11:58As soon as you put them two sheets up, you can feel the temperature drop.
00:12:03Come in here, Teal, and feel this.
00:12:05I'm serious.
00:12:06Even though I have a large personality, I am not somebody who's extremely sociable.
00:12:14I've been doing pretty good for the most part of this, but these last few days have been absolutely exhausting.
00:12:23I'm mentally spent.
00:12:26Well, thanks Teal.
00:12:28I'm sure at night we won't want it, but perhaps now.
00:12:33It's good.
00:12:43So what are you guys doing?
00:12:44We're going to stretch out this chicken wire so it unrolls that way.
00:12:49Cool.
00:12:50We have this chicken wire from up at the slaughterhouse, and we're just going to unroll it and walk it out.
00:12:55Pull it around through the water and just sort of see how it acts.
00:12:59See what the fish do.
00:13:01This bit's got a big hole, like there's a lot of holes in the middle.
00:13:04Yeah, we got some rugged parts here.
00:13:06You want to do a test run?
00:13:07Absolutely.
00:13:08If we come in right here at an angle and just quarantine this piece of the pond off.
00:13:13Measuring over 60 feet, the rusty chicken wire will be stretched across the narrowest part of the pond and down to the mud floor.
00:13:21The team must work in unison to corral the fish toward the shore while blocking the gaps and holes in the wire.
00:13:28All right, who's leading this expedition?
00:13:30So Woz is just heading that way.
00:13:31Everyone seems to follow me across.
00:13:33And then we're going to spread out along this thing.
00:13:36There's eight people here now.
00:13:37It needs more mouths to feed.
00:13:38But in a situation like this, it can be a total advantage because, you know, you got more hands on deck.
00:13:43It's getting hotter to .
00:13:46Yeah.
00:13:47I feel like I'm dragging it.
00:13:48Yeah, keep going.
00:13:49Yeah, drag's good.
00:13:50Yeah, that's how it should feel.
00:13:52We're trying to let the net just stay right on the ground level.
00:13:55Okay.
00:13:56I'll let her drag a little.
00:13:58You guys want to cut it in?
00:14:00We're going to start bringing it in.
00:14:01Yeah.
00:14:02Sorry, I'm having to move mine through the mud because it's in the mud.
00:14:06It needs to be in the mud.
00:14:07That's what I mean, so I'm having to push it from the bottom.
00:14:09I'm using my foot.
00:14:11Kind of got to stomp the whole thing.
00:14:13I'm finding huge gaps down here.
00:14:16There's some holes in the line in the net here.
00:14:18There's a hole, yep, there.
00:14:20I think from here, guys, we do one thing at a time.
00:14:22If it's slow, we do it right.
00:14:23Absolutely.
00:14:24I got swirls in front of me.
00:14:25Oh, yeah.
00:14:26Yeah, fish right there.
00:14:27Oh, look at all of these.
00:14:28Two of them then.
00:14:29Yep, yep.
00:14:30They're not happy.
00:14:31All of a sudden, I can see the turbulence on top of the water just move a little bit.
00:14:36Little splashes and little kicks.
00:14:37For me, it just turned it real serious real fast.
00:14:40Yeah, man.
00:14:41Hang on, hang on, hang on.
00:14:42Oh, they are coming.
00:14:43I've lost their hole.
00:14:44Hang on.
00:14:45Everyone pause.
00:14:46Everyone good?
00:14:47This hole's getting bigger.
00:14:48Keep it going.
00:14:49I'm just trying to hold the hole together and push it through the .
00:14:52I say we keep pushing.
00:14:53Ah!
00:14:54That's all right.
00:14:55That's all right.
00:14:56That's all right.
00:14:57Just one.
00:14:58Just one.
00:14:59Keep that gap.
00:15:00Do you want me to switch or switch out?
00:15:01Yeah, I think you're going to have a better chance.
00:15:02He was a big boy as well.
00:15:03He was.
00:15:04We've got more than that.
00:15:05And I didn't want to do that.
00:15:06The fish, they're literally jumping over the chicken wire right now.
00:15:09You know, there's a lot going on.
00:15:10We see food leaving and tensions are rough.
00:15:13Hold on.
00:15:14Hold on.
00:15:15I can't close this gap underwater.
00:15:16I can't close this gap underwater.
00:15:17Hold on.
00:15:18Hold on.
00:15:19Who's just like it?
00:15:20One commander on movement.
00:15:21Who's the commander of movement?
00:15:22When we move in, pull towards me so I can push it over here.
00:15:26Yep.
00:15:27That way our neck gets smaller and we tighten the hole here.
00:15:29I'm catching whatever the comes through here.
00:15:31Nice.
00:15:34I got him.
00:15:36Grab him.
00:15:37Grab him.
00:15:38And my fingers are getting .
00:15:39Tortoise shreds.
00:15:40Yep.
00:15:41I feel you.
00:15:42Oh!
00:15:43Jumped right through that hole.
00:15:45Why?
00:15:46Don't run and grab him.
00:15:47Come on.
00:15:48Hold.
00:15:49Hold.
00:15:50Hold on your foot, Steven.
00:15:51I got it.
00:15:52I got it.
00:15:53Yes.
00:15:54Yes.
00:15:55Come on.
00:15:56Hold up your side.
00:15:57Hold up your side.
00:15:58As we funnel up to the bank, we're seeing fish fighting and flopping and just coming right
00:16:02out of the water.
00:16:03Hold up your side.
00:16:05Hold up your side.
00:16:06Mm-hmm.
00:16:07Start.
00:16:08Start granny in the mouth.
00:16:09The adrenaline is just rushing through us.
00:16:11Where's that ?
00:16:12Here.
00:16:13What?
00:16:14Let's go.
00:16:15Come on.
00:16:16Come on.
00:16:17Come on.
00:16:18Come on.
00:16:19Come on.
00:16:20Come on.
00:16:21Come on.
00:16:26Where's that ?
00:16:27Here.
00:16:28Here.
00:16:29Let's go.
00:16:30Come on.
00:16:31Come on.
00:16:32Come on.
00:16:33No.
00:16:34No.
00:16:35Lift it up.
00:16:37Lift it up.
00:16:38Lift it up.
00:16:39Lift it up.
00:16:40Look, that one.
00:16:41Hey, I'm on a .
00:16:42Got him on.
00:16:43Lift it up.
00:16:44Lift it up.
00:16:45Lift up the net.
00:16:46克ner ley.
00:16:47I damn .
00:16:48No, he's not.
00:16:50I've got one.
00:16:51I've got a huge one.
00:16:52Hey, where do I take it?
00:16:53You and me kept on the ball.
00:16:54You and me, let me get going right.
00:16:55I'm in his jaw.
00:16:56I just need somebody to back me up.
00:16:57I'm there.
00:16:58I'm right on top of it.
00:16:59No.
00:17:00You've got to have a gil.
00:17:01You've got to have a kill to go.
00:17:02I got it.
00:17:04Yes!
00:17:05Yes!
00:17:06Yeah, girl!
00:17:08Get this up.
00:17:09Get this up.
00:17:10Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:17:13There you go.
00:17:14I got another right here.
00:17:15Blocking the path.
00:17:16Blocking the path.
00:17:16Blocking the path.
00:17:18Toss him.
00:17:20There you go.
00:17:21Yes!
00:17:22You got him.
00:17:22You got him.
00:17:25Yes!
00:17:26Yes!
00:17:26Yes!
00:17:28Yes!
00:17:30Oh, f***ing hell!
00:17:33Yes!
00:17:36He'll get up here!
00:17:39Yeah!
00:17:43Yeah!
00:17:44Push!
00:17:45Ready to grab?
00:17:46Look at these guys, man!
00:17:47What does this make?
00:17:48One, two, three, four, five, six.
00:17:50I think there's eight.
00:17:52Seven, eight.
00:17:53Yeah.
00:17:53We caught eight fish.
00:17:55And there are eight of us.
00:17:56So it's very serendipitous.
00:17:58So how do you grab this bar?
00:17:59Like this, look.
00:18:00There.
00:18:01Reach all the way inside his mouth.
00:18:03This way?
00:18:04Yeah, you're not going to bite you.
00:18:05Okay.
00:18:06A collective effort to put food on the table.
00:18:09And we've come up with the win.
00:18:10And what a beautiful f***ing win it is.
00:18:13Never caught a catfish.
00:18:14Never held a catfish.
00:18:16F***ing epic.
00:18:17I feel like I succeeded.
00:18:19Even if it wasn't an individual effort.
00:18:21Team makes the win.
00:18:22And that's all that counts.
00:18:23This is a ridiculous amount of food.
00:18:27We might have to hang a couple up and smoke them overnight.
00:18:29Exactly an appropriate amount of food.
00:18:30We can smoke them right on our rack, too.
00:18:33You got to get to work gutting these things pronto.
00:18:35We got some work ahead of us.
00:18:37Hey, I'll start gutting.
00:18:38Yeah, I'm with you, buddy.
00:18:39I mean, this is just insane.
00:18:53Everybody's working, doing their jobs.
00:18:56We got teal filleting.
00:18:57We got Joe over here stringing fillets.
00:19:00We're going to smoke those for tomorrow.
00:19:02That way we're going to have a fillet each tonight.
00:19:04We're going to have a huge hunk of fish tonight.
00:19:06And we're going to have backup fish for the next couple days.
00:19:14I've never seen a whole fish smoke.
00:19:16Yeah.
00:19:17I'm not sure that that's going to work.
00:19:20Cooking a whole fish takes longer.
00:19:22If you don't fillet it, it takes longer for the heat to evenly cook all of the flesh.
00:19:26Anything that thick is a risk for spoilage.
00:19:31I think with that smoky flavor, dude, and we'll just let him simmer all day tomorrow.
00:19:36All right.
00:19:38We'll see.
00:19:50Wow.
00:19:51How is it, guys?
00:20:00Divine.
00:20:01Amazing.
00:20:02Yes.
00:20:03Oh, my God.
00:20:04You just shake it off the bone.
00:20:06You did good, Frank.
00:20:09It just goes to show that, like, you can be having the worst day in the world, and it can turn itself around.
00:20:16Incredible.
00:20:17That was some tribal fishing right there.
00:20:18I was.
00:20:19Yeah.
00:20:21Yeah, that's a little bit.
00:20:36Yeah, I think that's the best look I've had out here.
00:20:38Yeah.
00:20:39That was great.
00:20:39Everybody was like, ow.
00:20:41I hung up a couple times, and I'm like, this is a beautiful sight.
00:20:44Everybody's just not even moving.
00:20:47Everyone slept really, really well last night, because we have full bellies, but we woke
00:20:53up to this.
00:20:54Just having the clouds has probably dropped the temperature 15 degrees.
00:20:59It's going to f***ing rain.
00:21:01We were up at slaughterhouse yesterday.
00:21:03There's still some stuff up there we could bring back down.
00:21:06Yeah.
00:21:06We could start doing some sort of shelter.
00:21:09Looking at the clouds, we know some rain was going to come in, so we're going to go back to
00:21:13the butcher house and see what materials we can collect.
00:21:15We need to put a roof on the shelter.
00:21:17Have fun, boys.
00:21:18All right, ladies.
00:21:18We'll be back.
00:21:19The only other day I remember like this was the day before the torrential rain.
00:21:24Oh, my God.
00:21:26There's nowhere to hide, and I am losing.
00:21:30This is camping weather.
00:21:32This is really f***ing hot.
00:21:33I can suffer, but I'm only human.
00:21:40And that worries me a little bit, because we're in a very precarious position with our
00:21:45shelter.
00:21:45We might be secure and safe from outside animals, but we are way less secure with absolutely
00:21:52zero waterproof shelter when it comes to the weather.
00:21:55I can't remember if there was any wriggly tin on the floor.
00:22:06Let me just have a look what this is here real quick.
00:22:09Yeah.
00:22:13This looks like it used to be a really nice place.
00:22:16That's what we're going to look at now.
00:22:18Is that solid enough?
00:22:20Is that solid enough?
00:22:21Yeah, no.
00:22:22Rock solid.
00:22:24Mate.
00:22:24I've never been here before, so I just want to put my eyes on everything.
00:22:33Yes.
00:22:34Could be food tucked up in them cracks, snakes, lizards.
00:22:37I've seen that one there, what's it hanging down?
00:22:39It's sort of wrapped up in that wire.
00:22:48There's no telling what happened here, but I wish these walls could talk.
00:22:51All right, good.
00:22:54I don't know.
00:22:55I don't know.
00:22:57I started digging a trench around the rage cage, and I'm going to make this as deep as possible.
00:23:22And then I want to run it all the way back behind the Velma, and then same for the other side.
00:23:33It's becoming more and more obvious that this rain is moving in faster than we expected.
00:23:39We have no idea how much rain is coming, so we really do need to have our plan in place.
00:23:45The trench is just going to make it so that we don't get flooding.
00:23:47Everybody's got a different comfort zone.
00:23:49I know mine is not getting wet.
00:23:52Okay.
00:23:56We brought a wedge that's also epic for digging.
00:23:59Okay.
00:23:59Come on, grab your wedge and jump in.
00:24:01Do whatever you want.
00:24:01Oh, no, no, no.
00:24:02I'm just saying for you as an option, like, if it really helped us in digging, it's an alternative option if you wanted to try it at any...
00:24:09If you have a great idea, then my personal preference is you just do it.
00:24:13Okay.
00:24:13I'm not much for...
00:24:15I'll just leave you to it.
00:24:16...advisement.
00:24:17I will just leave you to it.
00:24:19I get it.
00:24:19There might be a better way to do it, but the best way to show that is...
00:24:22I'm not saying there's a better way.
00:24:23I'm just offering an alternative if you needed it.
00:24:27I made a couple of suggestions to Teal.
00:24:29Unfortunately, they weren't taken very well.
00:24:32And in this apocalyptic wasteland of a place, your stress response, your flight and flight response every single day is at its absolute maximum.
00:24:44Let's just be quiet for the next two hours.
00:24:46Nice.
00:24:47But what the f*** is this?
00:24:49No one really wants to get their head snapped off.
00:25:00Oh, nice!
00:25:01And stronger for their team.
00:25:04We are coming back with a boatload of sheet metal.
00:25:08Just in time, because the rain is coming.
00:25:10Yes.
00:25:19One, two, three.
00:25:34Anywhere in here.
00:25:36Right here?
00:25:37Yeah.
00:25:38Decided it was time to go ahead and assemble the roof.
00:25:41And so, you know, I'm an engineer, and we're going to make an interior roof for the cage.
00:25:48Wes's plan calls for two scavenged poles to be placed through the grid of the cage, one slightly higher than the other.
00:25:55Then, layering on sheets of corrugated steel to create a pitched roof that redirects water out one side of the cage.
00:26:05Is that...
00:26:06Then you go left one?
00:26:07Down, down, down, down and over, over.
00:26:10This way.
00:26:11That way.
00:26:11There you go.
00:26:13Here?
00:26:13Let's go right here.
00:26:14Yeah, sure.
00:26:15Nice.
00:26:15We also have to start the Wrigley tin at the back if we want the appropriate overlap.
00:26:20Yeah, I gotcha, I gotcha.
00:26:22One, two, three, four.
00:26:23Yeah.
00:26:23So we can actually get another one on that side if you want to cover the fire.
00:26:27Wes is amazing.
00:26:28We are layering the tin roofing just like you would when putting up an actual tin roof.
00:26:32But we're doing it inside of the structure.
00:26:35What we could do is kind of leave it open.
00:26:37And then when it gets crazy, all we got to do is boop, boop.
00:26:40That way we can stand around, you know.
00:26:42Stack them in there.
00:26:45Yeah, if we need them, if we need them, then they're in there.
00:26:49Those fish look so good.
00:26:52They're like smoke cooked right now.
00:26:54Good job, team.
00:26:56Well done.
00:26:57Internal roof.
00:26:58That's new.
00:27:00You let me know if you need help, too.
00:27:15The roof is loose.
00:27:30Here.
00:27:34I knew that was going to happen.
00:27:36Here, I want to do it this way.
00:27:41I'm wiring.
00:27:43You've got to wrap that thing on there.
00:27:46What's your face?
00:27:47You might want to drop your gun with wire everywhere.
00:27:50Perfect.
00:27:51I can't see my car.
00:27:55What are you doing, boo?
00:27:56I'm trying to give you some lights, too.
00:27:57Okay, now, can you just duck when you're done talking so that you won't get hit with wire?
00:28:03Oh, I'm trying to say.
00:28:05Okay, turn that off, then.
00:28:07Let's see.
00:28:08What?
00:28:09I said it, like, three times, bro.
00:28:15All I said is, please duck.
00:28:16There's a lot of wire moving around when you're done with it.
00:28:20That's what I said.
00:28:20What are you doing?
00:28:22Let's go back to the cookie.
00:28:24During the night, we had to get panels in place when the wind got really bad.
00:28:52And that's hard to do in the dark, but honestly, it's harder to do when everybody's just talking
00:28:56a lot, especially Joe.
00:28:58That was probably more frustrating than the task itself.
00:29:03Teal is great, but during the high winds, she snapped at me.
00:29:07I tried to give her a light, and she yelled at me.
00:29:10You know, I was really surprised.
00:29:12And I feel like that's not conducive to what this group is here to do.
00:29:19Not good.
00:29:21So this morning, as I'm trying to get the pot to boil, I noticed that the flies are all
00:29:25over the smoked fish.
00:29:27Smoking anything that's that thick takes a lot of tending, because not only do we have
00:29:32the flies out here, but just the air temperature out here is really quick to spoil anything.
00:29:38How's that stuff coming?
00:29:40I'm trying to keep the flies off of those.
00:29:43Ooh, that stinks.
00:29:45Not good.
00:29:46Smell it.
00:29:47No, I don't want to.
00:29:48Do we need to just lower it?
00:29:50I think that one's done.
00:29:52So I can...
00:29:53Ooh.
00:29:55Oh, yeah.
00:29:56As soon as I squeeze it, I immediately know.
00:29:59It feels like it's got a bunch of air bubbles in it, and I'm like, oof.
00:30:03I could smell it right then, and I'm like, yep, they're bad.
00:30:07Bring it to somebody else's attention, not mine.
00:30:10I don't want to be the one that makes that decision.
00:30:12Yeah, I'll make it.
00:30:13No, it's done.
00:30:14There's no decision to be made.
00:30:16I was told just to drive them home.
00:30:17With four days left, I do not want to be removed from this challenge with stomach issues.
00:30:22Vomiting, diarrhea, and all of that is not only a quick way to get extremely dehydrated,
00:30:28but that's the type of sickness that I don't think my body can handle at this point.
00:30:32So them four catfish are toast, dude.
00:30:35I mean, they're rotten.
00:30:36Smoked ones?
00:30:37Smoked ones?
00:30:38The smoked ones?
00:30:39Yeah.
00:30:39Squeeze them.
00:30:40You'll see bubbles come out the spine holes, and it reeks of rot.
00:30:43Really?
00:30:44Really, really.
00:30:46They should have been stripped.
00:30:47De-boned.
00:30:48That sucks.
00:30:49That surprises the out of me.
00:30:52Yeah, they're probably too high.
00:30:53I just think they weren't opened up.
00:30:55Yeah.
00:30:56I was wondering how that was going to work.
00:30:57I've never seen a whole fish smoked.
00:30:59Man, I've done it a few times.
00:31:01Maybe they were too high.
00:31:03They hung the fish up the wrong way.
00:31:05They needed to be de-boned.
00:31:07You know, you could leave them on the head.
00:31:09You just got to cut that backbone out and use sticks to keep the fillets apart.
00:31:13That turned out to be a bad move.
00:31:18When everybody realized the four fish were spoiled, it really was a huge problem.
00:31:22Maybe I dropped the ball on that.
00:31:23So now I'm worried about putting more food on the table.
00:31:27Well, we can do another chain gang.
00:31:32Yeah.
00:31:32Yeah.
00:31:33Are you ready?
00:31:34You ready?
00:31:34I'm ready.
00:31:35Let's go get some fish out of the water.
00:31:38And now we have to think about the chicken wire.
00:31:42We could give it another run today and see if we can't get some more food.
00:31:46There are lots of catfish moving around in that pond still.
00:31:49Should we just stretch it out a bit?
00:31:50Yeah, let's stretch this whole thing out.
00:31:53So we've got the poultry wire from the slaughterhouse.
00:31:57This is rusty and falling apart.
00:31:59There's holes that are beginning to get much bigger.
00:32:02I remember there was one spot where we had a couple big ones get out, just like a rip.
00:32:06Look at this.
00:32:06Right here, this is only joined on by a couple bits of wire.
00:32:11Look at this, Steven.
00:32:12Oh, my God.
00:32:13This is the gap I was trying to hold close.
00:32:15Well, that'll never work.
00:32:17Nope.
00:32:17Can't believe this.
00:32:18This is crazy.
00:32:19Yeah, that's nuts.
00:32:20The chicken wire's too skinny and it's kind of off the table today.
00:32:24But it's still important to work on getting protein sources other ways.
00:32:28We need everybody to help us do that.
00:32:30I'll go hunt.
00:32:31Good luck, seal.
00:32:32Slay, darling.
00:32:34You too, Joe.
00:32:35Thank you, Frank.
00:32:37Good luck.
00:32:38Hydrate up.
00:32:40Yeah.
00:32:42I know.
00:32:44I don't even know if she's going to hunt.
00:32:45I think she's going to sit in a blinds.
00:32:46She's going to have to be with us all day.
00:32:48Yeah.
00:32:49That's why she brought her to scare her.
00:32:50I don't know what's happened with Teal, but Teal's been great as a partner.
00:32:55You know, we've been together since day one.
00:32:58Oh, Miss Teal.
00:32:59Oh, sir.
00:33:00I got you a prezzy.
00:33:02That is so awesome.
00:33:03Mama.
00:33:04She's happy to just, you know, keep working away, keep chipping away at the jobs that need
00:33:09to be done.
00:33:10There we go.
00:33:11Cut.
00:33:14Woo!
00:33:15Damn.
00:33:16Yes.
00:33:16That's what I'm talking about.
00:33:19So this is very different to see her in this space, but being in such a tough environment
00:33:25with an apocalyptic challenge like this, there's no words that can describe what your body
00:33:30goes through and especially what your mind goes through.
00:33:33She got a bit of an anger out last night at one in the morning when she started screaming
00:33:39at Joe.
00:33:40Joe.
00:33:41Yeah.
00:33:41Maybe all that pent up just came out and she's back to normal.
00:33:45Yeah.
00:33:46Yeah.
00:33:53Having eight survivalists inside a cell when you have no personal space is like the most
00:33:59miserable conditions possible.
00:34:02The fact that I'm starving and energy depleted in general makes that kind of situation even
00:34:09harder for me.
00:34:10So for me, I really need to find a way to recharge.
00:34:20You can hear the Egyptian news.
00:34:32I decided to see if I could sneak up on them, but they're very, very smart.
00:34:36And I couldn't get within 40 yards or so.
00:34:43Time to head back.
00:34:47Unfortunately.
00:34:50Jesus.
00:34:51You know, this challenge, it's been just a emotional, mental, physical roller coaster
00:35:03starting off in the complete burnt desolation.
00:35:07This is like a death march.
00:35:10Surviving there for 22 days, you know, 17 of them on my own.
00:35:16Starting to get a little blackout.
00:35:21It's incredibly difficult.
00:35:26But what I know about myself is I've got more in me.
00:35:33Keep away, mother.
00:35:34Now, this group has been probably the best thing that happened on this challenge for me.
00:35:42It's nice to be in a group dynamic.
00:35:47I want to provide for everybody.
00:35:49I want to have a nice big meal.
00:35:51I feel a joy of watching people eat this and kill.
00:35:56Everybody wants to get fed.
00:35:57I want to be the one to do it.
00:36:01I can hear trees cracking.
00:36:04They're riding me off the distance.
00:36:05Son of a bitch.
00:36:17Ugh.
00:36:18Ran into some elephants and the wind was blowing towards them so they could smell me.
00:36:23And we just keep crossing paths.
00:36:25I'm taking every single chance that I can get out here just to make sure I'm in a position
00:36:30where I could have an opportunity to shoot and gain a kill.
00:36:33Again, elephants are getting in the way of success.
00:36:37It really sucks.
00:36:53Is that my naked family over there?
00:36:58Any action?
00:37:00Nothing new.
00:37:01We've got to just keep trying.
00:37:03Every day.
00:37:05Hydrate up.
00:37:06No, I don't want to.
00:37:07The sun's popping off, so definitely hydrate.
00:37:14Do you get some water?
00:37:15No.
00:37:17You sure to?
00:37:18I said no thanks.
00:37:20For whatever reason, I feel like every time I get back to camp, it just makes my skin crawl.
00:37:27I just feel like it's the same story.
00:37:29Every day, I feel like I'm imprisoned.
00:37:35Not sure what's going on with Teal right now.
00:37:37You know, she's rude, really impolite.
00:37:40She turned into a person that I really don't recognize.
00:37:44I feel like she's just constantly waging a war in her head right now.
00:37:50Yeah.
00:37:51That brings the morale down of the entire group.
00:37:54Definitely.
00:37:54Honest to God, man.
00:37:57Like, if she doesn't figure this out, I can't imagine it's going to be healthy for her.
00:38:01It's going to be a cooker today.
00:38:18Yeah.
00:38:18Do you feel it?
00:38:20I know.
00:38:21It's hot.
00:38:26I'm going to hunt.
00:38:29All right, Teal.
00:38:30Good luck out there.
00:38:31Thanks.
00:38:32Good luck.
00:38:33Good luck.
00:38:35Sending Mojo your way.
00:38:37She's totally different this morning, isn't she?
00:38:39She's like, I'll pay for you again.
00:38:41Perky's a strong word.
00:38:42Yeah.
00:38:46When it comes to the end of these challenges, people go about their emotions in different ways.
00:38:52But we're days away from leaving this place.
00:38:55And I need everybody in the right head space, body space, mind space, soul space, to make sure that we cross that finish line together.
00:39:03Yeah, I think Teal just needs to come down.
00:39:05She's using all the coping strategies that she has to get through this.
00:39:10But I feel like she's just fighting herself every day.
00:39:12I saw some egg nests, so I'm going to go and see if I can get those down.
00:39:32See if maybe they have eggs in them still.
00:39:33The people around me are making me crazy.
00:39:39It's just hard.
00:39:41It's always just hard.
00:39:42It's always just hard.
00:39:42These are the nests.
00:39:53They hang like that.
00:39:57As you can see in this one right here, there are no eggs.
00:40:01Of course.
00:40:02Oh, yeah.
00:40:12Whew.
00:40:14Lordy, lordy.
00:40:16All right.
00:40:18I got some water hole up here.
00:40:20See what kind of sign's there.
00:40:24Got some fresh dyker tracks.
00:40:27Some warthog tracks.
00:40:32So, yeah, I think this is a good spot for a blind.
00:40:37After five weeks of surviving in this wasteland, getting food now is more critical than ever.
00:40:44I'm worried about escape and getting to that finish line.
00:40:49Teal is definitely struggling the most out here.
00:40:51I know what an amazing, resilient woman she is.
00:40:54But if she's going to hang on to the end, she needs some protein or something to eat.
00:40:59And that's exactly what I'm going to do.
00:41:00Get another kill for my team and myself.
00:41:03Here we go.
00:41:04So I got a shade right here.
00:41:06A good view of the watering hole.
00:41:08So this is going to be home for a while.
00:41:10I'm going to hunt this right here.
00:41:13All right.
00:41:19Whew.
00:41:20I can feel that heat.
00:41:22As a team, you know, we got real camp dynamics now and people are struggling.
00:41:30And for me, I think that's where the mental part of this challenge comes in.
00:41:35This is my third time in South Africa.
00:41:38Oh, the pain is so bad.
00:41:41First time I was med tapped.
00:41:43My last one standing, I left.
00:41:45I've got no food.
00:41:46This is just terrible.
00:41:48And that's really haunted me for years.
00:41:51Holy crap.
00:41:53That's given me the motivation to fight through all the really tough times out here.
00:41:57Holy crap.
00:42:02All right.
00:42:02Oh!
00:42:04Keep an eye out for that crow.
00:42:06Yeah, I see him.
00:42:08And I had a black mom of one foot from my head.
00:42:12He bites you and you're dead.
00:42:14So if all that was for nothing, that would be soul crushing.
00:42:19There's hippos in the water and there's me.
00:42:21And I'm hoping that we can see impalas, dikers, kudu, anything come in within about 20 yards.
00:42:30If that happens, we got a real opportunity.
00:42:33So I'll sit and sit quietly.
00:42:37To not make it out of this apocalypse on day 35 would be a feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone.
00:42:51We have to eat, but right now I don't even feel like eating.
00:43:13I'm just exhausted.
00:43:17So exhausted.
00:43:21It is an absolute scorcher today.
00:43:33This is the hottest day I have ever experienced in my 45 years of life.
00:43:41The top of the water feels like you're stepping into a hot bath.
00:43:46I don't even know how to describe it.
00:43:48This is probably my hardest day yet.
00:43:50The heat will take people out faster than any wild animal possibly can.
00:43:54So it's hard to get words out.
00:43:56Words are hard.
00:43:56I've got cotton mouth like five seconds after I step out into the heat.
00:43:59Time's ticking by, and I haven't seen anything.
00:44:18That sucks.
00:44:19At this point, it's the hottest part of the day.
00:44:23Time to go back to the shelter.
00:44:26Hydrate.
00:44:26That's enough for now.
00:44:31We really have to pay attention to our hydration.
00:44:33This late in the challenge, your body is already hurting.
00:44:37You know, it's in basic starvation mode, and it has been for a while.
00:44:40So dehydration can send you a downhill spiral.
00:44:43I see something.
00:44:52There's a dove.
00:45:01That close.
00:45:04Just missed a dove over there.
00:45:07Water hole.
00:45:08It's been a long day.
00:45:09I've been this blind for hours.
00:45:11I need to get back, get some water.
00:45:14It's time to get a drink and try to get another day.
00:45:18It's time to get another day.
00:45:19It's time to get another day.
00:45:19It's time to get another day.
00:45:32It's time to get another day.
00:45:33No, much.
00:45:34Any action?
00:45:36A lot of cool stuff, yeah.
00:45:39Yeah.
00:45:41I got some water.
00:45:43Cool.
00:45:43all right
00:45:46hello my love hey how was it fun if you need water no
00:45:58that whole container there is all water good oh wow the one outside oh that big boy yeah
00:46:08hell yeah thank you what'd you see out there too bird nests nice checked all the nests no eggs though
00:46:16all that jazz do you get some water i'm good thanks
00:46:22you all good too yeah want some water no
00:46:32i don't know something is wrong with her and i don't think it's a small thing
00:46:37she's like mentally taking a cliff dive and doesn't want to be around anyone for any reason
00:46:43whatsoever we are all really really really really concerned about teal's welfare and i think it's
00:46:50really important to have a bit of a group chat about the dynamic and about how things were going
00:46:56and basically address our concerns she won't accept water very often when she got back wouldn't take
00:47:04water so she hasn't drunk water all day no jesus drink a little bit this morning and that's it
00:47:09teal's been on an emotional roller coaster but um you got to keep drinking water um if you do anything
00:47:15different to that you're going to be out of here quick sticks it's absolutely concerning to me that
00:47:19she's just pulling herself back from everyone a little bit you know concerned she's not drinking
00:47:24enough we offer a you know water she she has like a sip a day and that's not even close to enough to
00:47:29what you need out here yeah i don't understand what's going on if she was just being pissy for
00:47:3424 hours that's one thing yeah this has gone on for like three days now it's like a mental health
00:47:39decline we're watching what we say around uh walking on eggshells 100 yeah which is unfair
00:47:45clouds every movement everything i say you know i'm seeing her go down and it's very strange
00:47:52she's very dull in her responses she just is very harsh in in her criticisms
00:47:58she's treading water out here and it's dangerous this is a dangerous place to be stuck in your own
00:48:04head somebody needs to have a conversation because we can't do it seven on one that's not fair yeah
00:48:11i'm happy to talk to her okay i don't know how it's gonna land but i'm happy to okay cool i don't
00:48:16want her to go any deeper than this you know no more decline or i don't think she's gonna make it to
00:48:21the end yeah agreed are you good yeah it's fine till's had a difficult time since the merge so i'm
00:48:44gonna have a chat with her one-on-one i am concerned for where she might be mentally
00:48:47everyone's worried about you yeah i'm just tired of
00:48:52tired of everyone tired of just tired of my social battery is empty yeah i get that but it's for me it's
00:49:01um like just watching the last couple days like not drinking a lot of water like that's what i'm
00:49:06worried about i get the social battery i'm drinking water drinking enough yeah so what i'm actually
00:49:12worried about as well is people are sort of feeling like they're walking on having a walk on eggshells
00:49:19around on eggshells you know about what one word answers and bit sneaky and whatever oh like it's
00:49:27difficult to be around you sort of thing oh i just wanna it's like saying i'm good when people ask
00:49:33that's not okay i gotta like tell them something no but i think everyone just wants you to be part
00:49:39of the and i and i get it totally you know i didn't realize people were thinking i was being snippy i
00:49:45apologize i'll make a point to make sure people know that okay i'll be honest i'm exhausted i'm
00:49:53physically exhausted i don't have many pounds left on my body to give everybody's coping mechanisms
00:49:59are different and these last few days have been absolutely exhausting escaping from here and getting
00:50:06back to civilization just sounds like such a dream for those of you that are worried my social distancing
00:50:11has nothing to do with anybody and nobody has to be walking on eggshells and my one word answers are
00:50:19just mostly because i'm tired of talking i'm honestly just exhausted if it's offended anybody my
00:50:25apologies but that's all it is and it has nothing to do with anybody else and i'm sorry that people
00:50:32are offended by it and i'm sorry that it's bothering people don't let it make you feel uncomfortable
00:50:38i don't think we're uncomfortable too i think we were just worried about you there's nothing to be
00:50:42worried about i'm drinking i'm still here boiling water and doing stuff and collecting firewood
00:50:49i understand i understand i'm just telling you how how we were feeling is just your distance we just
00:50:54we were just worried about you because we do care about you and you are an integral part of this team
00:50:59and we love you and we care about you
00:51:02it's all you know we're not mad we're not upset we were just worried it's all that's the whole thing
00:51:10no i'm fine okay and i'd like to hear your part now and that's all that's that's it now
00:51:15there's no problem yeah it takes a lot of courage to do that but uh we'll let you do you and
00:51:21okay these two thank you sweetheart yeah
00:51:24at this point in this challenge your mental stability and strength is the most important
00:51:32without it you don't survive
00:51:34we got some cloud cover today that's not good it's definitely not the perfect
00:51:59situation escaping this armageddon um is going to take calories but since the fish were spoiled
00:52:08the hunting's still really hard here are these cool days it's not good for hunting no you know
00:52:14the animals aren't dying of heat stroke like us there's lots of moisture on the vegetation
00:52:20yep you want to look at the net we'll start fixing fixing oh straight again see where all the holes are
00:52:27putting some wire over clip the wires overlap and go i like it yeah 100 we haven't had any luck so far
00:52:35with hunting and so fishing may be really our only choice going forward so what we're going to do now
00:52:40we're going to fix the fishing net so we're going to nip and put a little patch and wire it on
00:52:45we just do a clean cut here and like a clean cut there and just join together yeah yeah because
00:52:51all this this is good this is all prime yeah this section down here is looking pretty good too
00:52:56they're each 10 meter so i got 20 meters of good yeah 60 feet yeah there's a real bad section in the
00:53:05middle of the net and we decided to eliminate that completely we have to basically patch it cut old
00:53:11pieces off bring them over patch where the rip is just do a continuous cycle of patching where the
00:53:17bad spots are so it's a time-consuming event damn it's got loads of good wire we can use to patch it
00:53:25yeah save that if we can yeah it's just unravelling it stripped all the flexible wire off this chicken
00:53:31net it looks like it's been repaired before there was a lot of this metal wire on there and here we're
00:53:37just using it to sew our good bits of a chicken wire together it's like man sewing here's the two of
00:53:45the best male wire sewers in the world there's no holes in that one it's looking neat it is isn't it
00:53:59yeah no holes anywhere double strength in the middle where they're hitting yeah super strong
00:54:05double mesh look at all these fish in here right now look at all that get my belly
00:54:11all hands on deck need to lock it up get some legit protein on the table one more good win would give
00:54:21the whole group a nice little boost especially teal she's just struggling and weak are we doing the
00:54:27same thing we did the first time a little bit less panic this time i hope you don't have people
00:54:31jumping around inside no we don't need people jumping around inside yeah the first day we were
00:54:36fishing with it was just crazy and everyone got excited it was a little bit of chaos so we're hoping
00:54:42to get more controlled so that we can finish this uh successfully we're gonna take our time and then
00:54:46we should hold the integrity of the net slow and methodical we have to get food because if we don't
00:54:51it's gonna be almost impossible to make it to the end if we don't get food we might be screwed
00:54:58a light drag on the bottom we're gonna kind of bring in like horseshoe this fishing technique that
00:55:08i want to do basically just set it down deeper in the mud later that way we can encompass a larger area
00:55:14come together faster and hopefully not lose so many fish hopefully it's not too short now
00:55:19all right are we all on the ground now yeah i'm on the grounds everyone's just gonna slowly
00:55:25push it forwards just push it steady while i'm seeing
00:55:28hey i'm gonna get up here and pull this okay okay okay move it up a little bit shuffle
00:55:36like six inches at a time turn nice and steady
00:55:39nope nope don't even we're not even gonna grab nothing yet there's way too much space we just need
00:55:46to keep them contained they're gonna start testing this bit right here i'm just hoping that this
00:55:53poultry wire holds up okay i feel like it's ripping a bit there i've got big holes over here by the way
00:56:01oh it's time to rip want me to get that net bucket and get in there yeah yeah yeah i like the net bucket
00:56:09idea let's try it it's right there man i'll just grab it there we go you're not getting i don't know
00:56:15let's keep everything down nice calm and cool keep it down this poultry net is falling apart
00:56:23it's coming down to the wire here look at that get it pranked yep
00:56:27there you go beautiful
00:56:31get the net yeah i like the net bucket idea there you go
00:56:45there's your new home beautiful nice
00:56:49oh no i'm going to kick him he's coming out kick him
00:56:53okay once again that's okay that's right
00:56:56i gotta pinch that bottom corner yeah there you go now you've got a proper scoop
00:57:01you're about to get up there more
00:57:05uh
00:57:07you'll grab and toss beautiful nice all right
00:57:10Here, here.
00:57:11There's one.
00:57:12After days, no more.
00:57:14We fixed the nest, we took out the big holes,
00:57:16and this is actually working.
00:57:19Hey!
00:57:20That's a good sauce.
00:57:21This MacGyver ability that we have,
00:57:23using man-made materials and how they can be better utilized.
00:57:26Those catfish never knew it would hit them.
00:57:28This is the way?
00:57:29I love you guys.
00:57:29We did this.
00:57:30This has got this down to a science.
00:57:32Not as dramatic, but this is definitely
00:57:34getting greater yield here.
00:57:36Yeah.
00:57:37Worked like a chant, bud.
00:57:39Good job, guys.
00:57:40Get that corner.
00:57:42They love that corner.
00:57:43It's awesome.
00:57:44I'm watching Teal participate.
00:57:46She's eager to do it, quick to jump in.
00:57:49It's a really positive team effort.
00:57:53There he is.
00:57:53Yeah, twofer!
00:57:55Let's see, how many do we have over there?
00:57:57Beautiful.
00:58:00Can you already believe that we're all going
00:58:02to be eating an entire fish already?
00:58:06Beautiful, beautiful.
00:58:07This challenge has been difficult in everybody's tribe.
00:58:10Everybody had difficulty getting food, surviving
00:58:13the weather, the environment, the animals, and it really
00:58:16took us all coming together to this location to problem solve
00:58:20as a team, as a family, to overcome these challenges.
00:58:23Mmm.
00:58:24Mmm.
00:58:25These fat fishy hugs.
00:58:27That's what making a parade's all about.
00:58:29Just chunk them on the grill.
00:58:31We're not going to be smoking fish again.
00:58:35Looks like we're going to eat pretty good tonight.
00:58:38That's a good feeling.
00:58:40All right, guys, cheers.
00:58:42Cheers!
00:58:43Cheers!
00:58:44Cheers!
00:58:45Cooked a profession, Frank.
00:58:47Mmm.
00:58:48That is so good.
00:58:50We all got a big, fat fish feast.
00:58:54Now I'm, like, full of energy, and I want to get out of here
00:58:58and escape as soon as possible.
00:59:11It is a hot one today.
00:59:14Is there any water left?
00:59:16I'm going to say it's so hard today.
00:59:18It's less than 24 hours before, you know, we're all on foot making
00:59:22our escape from this place.
00:59:23Tomorrow, we're all walking into something together that we have no clue what it is.
00:59:29This is an escape.
00:59:30It's not an extraction, and we don't know what that looks like.
00:59:33So it's just going to have to be where I have to be as prepared as possible.
00:59:37The upcoming escape is very much unknown.
00:59:40And so we really need to be drinking as much water as possible.
00:59:43Making a filtration system is actually really, really important.
00:59:47So I'm just collecting some straws for the top layer.
00:59:51Let's take a part of this through some coals.
00:59:56Fire.
00:59:58And I'm just going to get crushed into a powder.
01:00:01I want most of the pieces to be really dusty.
01:00:04The most important part of this whole thing is that thick layer of charcoal.
01:00:07I'm going to use this piece of polyester at the bottom for the cotton.
01:00:13I'm going to make a bunch of holes in this.
01:00:15The metal container that I'm using as a filter, I found at the mechanic's house on day one.
01:00:20And I've been looking forward to using it this whole time.
01:00:26Okay, so that's like a nice thick layer.
01:00:29Make sure it's set in there.
01:00:32Just sprinkle it on.
01:00:34Evenly, again, just so it's going to be good.
01:00:38Okay, we got our big old filter.
01:00:41That'll work.
01:00:42The stones take out large particulates.
01:00:45Then you get into sand, which does the last bit of true filtration.
01:00:49The charcoal neutralizes, absorbs chemicals, absorbs oils.
01:00:53And then out the bottom you go.
01:00:55Oh, wow.
01:00:56Wow.
01:00:57Love it.
01:00:58I'm feeling a little bit better.
01:01:00Trying to truly find a way to rise above all this disaster and finish the challenge strong.
01:01:08See, how cool is this?
01:01:10Teal taught me how to do a filtration system for the water.
01:01:14Teal brings with her a wealth of knowledge.
01:01:17So, still completing the apprenticeship of my life.
01:01:21How good is it?
01:01:22It's awesome, isn't it?
01:01:23Mm-hmm.
01:01:23So much better.
01:01:24I know.
01:01:25So happy about it.
01:01:28More?
01:01:29Yes, I always should.
01:01:30I should never say no.
01:01:32That's our rule.
01:01:33It's been a long journey.
01:01:36It's been a good one, but it's been hard.
01:01:39So I'm making some just-in-case shoes for when we escape out of here.
01:01:44The ultimate goal for me is surviving South Africa.
01:01:48And so there's zero chance of me not finishing this challenge.
01:01:53I'm going ahead and making a little pack of some essentials, fire starter, some wires, cordage.
01:02:00You know, this being a brand-new challenge with this escape route, it's never been done in the history of Naked and Afraid.
01:02:07So I don't know what to expect.
01:02:09And that's scary.
01:02:11You're not out of a survival situation until you're out of the survival situation.
01:02:14All right, now I've got a safe pack.
01:02:16It's watertight.
01:02:17Miscellaneous wires, whatever we need.
01:02:20If an emergency happens to pop up on our escape out of here, I'm going to have it right here.
01:02:26We're getting out of here.
01:02:27It's time to escape.
01:02:30It's time to escape.
01:03:00That's hip-hop.
01:03:02They're right there.
01:03:05Oh, my God.
01:03:12Do you want to go take a piss?
01:03:14Definitely not.
01:03:17Holy .
01:03:18That's going to be a long one.
01:03:22That was so wild.
01:03:38That was scary.
01:03:39Last night in the Rage Cage, there were several different directions we heard those hippos coming from.
01:03:44It's time to go.
01:03:45It's time to go, and all of us are eager to escape.
01:03:48All right, guys, putting out the fires, then hit the road.
01:03:52Woo-hoo!
01:03:52We need to make sure that we bring our knives, our bows.
01:03:57I'll cut a pot of water.
01:03:58We're definitely taking four water pots.
01:04:00You never know what's going to happen in the bush.
01:04:02So we're going to take everything that we can that's going to be necessary to escape this hell on earth.
01:04:09Oh, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe.
01:04:10The world of beast has to stay.
01:04:11I'm sorry, buddy.
01:04:13He's reached the end of his road.
01:04:14It's kind of sad.
01:04:15You know, I birthed that thing.
01:04:17That was one of my first MacGyvering, and I've improved it along the way.
01:04:20And I would have liked to have carried it to the end, but, you know, it's just not practical.
01:04:24All right, everyone almost ready?
01:04:25Yep.
01:04:26I just want to get everyone's mind in the right mindset before we go.
01:04:30There's no one coming for us.
01:04:31We need to find a way to make it back to civilization.
01:04:34With no extraction vehicles awaiting them, the survivalists must make their escape on foot by trekking over eight miles deep into the thick brush of hill country to a mountain range on the northern edge of the wasteland.
01:04:47If they can reach the ridgeline, their escape route will lead to a game ranch, the closest inhabited outpost, where a welcome celebration is being planned.
01:04:57This is a long way, guys.
01:04:59You all need your heads on a swivel.
01:05:00We've still got lions, elephants, all that stuff out here.
01:05:03There's not a cloud in the sky today, so it's going to be a cooker.
01:05:05With triple-digit temperatures and a total elevation gain of over 1,000 feet, the rocky terrain is covered with sharp acacia thorns and teeming with fire ants.
01:05:15Lions lurk in the bush as leopards prowl from the trees and rocks above.
01:05:20The area is also home to the deadly gaboon viper, whose two-inch fangs release the highest amount of venom of any snake in the world.
01:05:29This is not going to be easy.
01:05:31We're going to have to push.
01:05:31It's going to be hard.
01:05:32Just watch for people dropping off.
01:05:34Watch for people if they look like they're not drinking enough, sweating too much, heat stroke, that sort of stuff.
01:05:38All right, we've got to do this as a team.
01:05:40We're going to do this as a family to get out of here.
01:05:42100%.
01:05:42It's going to be hard, but we're going to make it work.
01:05:44Well, it hasn't been hard out here.
01:05:45Yeah, exactly.
01:05:46One last push.
01:05:47That's all we're going to do.
01:05:48Slow, steady, stick together.
01:05:49All right.
01:05:49All right.
01:05:50That's it.
01:05:50Woo!
01:05:51Woo!
01:05:51One, two, three.
01:05:52Yes!
01:05:54I'm getting out of here.
01:05:55See you, Rage Cage.
01:05:56Peace out, home.
01:05:57Laters.
01:05:58Let's roll.
01:06:01I'm so ready to escape this place.
01:06:03It's been one of the hardest challenges I've ever come across.
01:06:06I know this escape is going to be one of the hardest things I've ever done as well.
01:06:09So long.
01:06:12My muscles just being atrophied and being worn out.
01:06:15My body is tired.
01:06:16So it's going to take everything I've got.
01:06:20It's starting to get hot.
01:06:21Yeah.
01:06:22It's definitely Africa.
01:06:24The heat came out.
01:06:26We've still been running on zero fuel.
01:06:30We've had full bellies and catfish, but that's just protein.
01:06:33Energy for the body is carbs and fats, and we've had none of those.
01:06:35I hate to say it, but there is still a risk that we could lose someone on the hike out.
01:06:46How are you holding up, Wes?
01:06:48I'm doing good, buddy.
01:06:49You doing all right?
01:06:50Yes, sir.
01:06:50Good.
01:06:51This sun is out, and it is cooking us.
01:06:54We have waz in the front setting the pace, and I'm in the back making sure nobody gets hurt.
01:07:00Good.
01:07:04Careful.
01:07:05That thorn's really angry.
01:07:06Eyeball level.
01:07:07All right.
01:07:08Thanks, Jill.
01:07:09Acacia.
01:07:14Wow, that was a good one.
01:07:16It's just a whole forest of the devil's Legos.
01:07:19Oh, Jesus.
01:07:20It's pretty rough terrain.
01:07:21This is a thick bush.
01:07:23Thorny.
01:07:24Probably full of ticks.
01:07:26Lots of thorns up here, guys.
01:07:27Watch this, Steph.
01:07:29It's going to be small and tight, but we're going to do it.
01:07:33Oh, for sake.
01:07:35Oh, please.
01:07:37Look at your eyes, Joe.
01:07:40Doing all right?
01:07:41All good, man.
01:07:42It's all good.
01:07:42All right.
01:07:43All the trees are smacking in us, stabbing us with thorns, but your body can endure so
01:07:48much pain and suffering.
01:07:49You just need to convince your mind, and I've convinced my mind every day.
01:07:53Doing well, team.
01:07:54Come on.
01:07:55We just got to keep pushing.
01:08:01Elephants have definitely been here.
01:08:03Oh, you knocked that whole thing over.
01:08:05The trail's thick.
01:08:07You can't see very far.
01:08:09There's no telling what's in this landscape.
01:08:12I'm more worried about the elephants than anything, because they call them the gray ghost.
01:08:16Because when you're looking like this, you don't see them until you literally look up,
01:08:20and their backs break the skyline.
01:08:22The sun's high.
01:08:31Yeah, it is.
01:08:33Quick steps through here, because this is the big ant colony.
01:08:36They will buy it.
01:08:37Thorns and ants, guys.
01:08:40Oh.
01:08:41Oh.
01:08:42Damn, they're fast.
01:08:43Ah.
01:08:44Oh, my God.
01:08:45These are angry little f***s, aren't they?
01:08:47Oh, f***.
01:08:48Jesus.
01:08:49Yeah.
01:08:49They bite.
01:08:50They bite the f*** out of you, Steven?
01:08:52Yep.
01:08:52Oh, f***.
01:08:53They pick a punch for such a little thing.
01:08:57Holy cow, come on.
01:08:58Ow!
01:09:00I don't think I've ever done something this hard.
01:09:03I've definitely never made it this far on so little.
01:09:08You're part of the hero's journey?
01:09:10That's right.
01:09:10Son, it's kicking.
01:09:16My mouth's got a proper train on.
01:09:18I'm almost out of water in this front one here.
01:09:20We're looking at the back.
01:09:21I've got more in half.
01:09:23Okay.
01:09:24Okay.
01:09:25We've been a good few hours now into this escape.
01:09:27We'll just put on one step in front of the other,
01:09:30and we're going to get out as a team.
01:09:32We're just running a bit out of water, so that's the problem.
01:09:36Hey, guys, I want to get to the top of the hill up here.
01:09:38Hey, I'm pretty confident we're going to be able to see
01:09:40the civilization from up here at this highest point.
01:09:43Hey, wise, let us catch up just a little bit.
01:09:45Need a break?
01:09:46We need to stop?
01:09:47Yeah.
01:09:48Everybody get a drink if you need it.
01:09:49No rush on that.
01:09:51Holy s***.
01:09:52The heat and the dehydration.
01:09:55All of these things are f***ing my vibe,
01:09:57and we haven't even got to the mountain yet.
01:09:58That's the finish line right there, boys and girls.
01:10:00You can see it.
01:10:01We've done 35 days of pretty hard stuff,
01:10:03and all we've got to do is this.
01:10:04That's it.
01:10:05Let's go.
01:10:05You good, Wes?
01:10:06Yeah, boy.
01:10:07We're good.
01:10:07All right, guys, let's go.
01:10:08Let's push this.
01:10:09One last push.
01:10:10We've got to get out of this wasteland.
01:10:12Jesus.
01:10:14You good, too?
01:10:14Yeah.
01:10:18Oh, man.
01:10:19The terrain's getting way more rocky.
01:10:21Watch your ankles on this stuff, man.
01:10:23This is rolling, breaking ankles.
01:10:26Feels real sneaky here.
01:10:28Yeah.
01:10:29They're here, that's for sure.
01:10:30Thanks for pointing that out.
01:10:32Oh, my God.
01:10:40There's so many more thorns here.
01:10:43Oh, yi-yi-yi.
01:10:45Yeah, this is ridiculous.
01:10:47Elevation definitely doesn't help.
01:10:49Oh, God.
01:10:50Hang in there, Wes.
01:10:53Legs are burning.
01:10:54And for someone to succeed in Naked and Afraid, you have to have mental fortitude, and you
01:11:00have to have a desire to finish.
01:11:03But make no mistake, it is brutal.
01:11:07I'll never give up, but I don't know how much more I can take.
01:11:11That's walking and getting easier.
01:11:13Oh, gosh.
01:11:16I mean, I don't know how much more.
01:11:18I mean, this challenge has been the most unbearable thing I've ever done in my life, but I got too
01:11:24much at stake.
01:11:26I'm almost done.
01:11:27I can taste it.
01:11:29I can feel it.
01:11:31We are ready to get the hell out of here.
01:11:34Hey, guys.
01:11:34I'm out of water in this first can here.
01:11:37Do we have much left?
01:11:38I'm out.
01:11:39I got just about a swallow left.
01:11:41All right.
01:11:42Jesus Christ.
01:11:43That sucks.
01:11:44This escape pod is one of the hardest things that I've done.
01:11:48There's so much uphill.
01:11:50Every time I look up, there's just more and more hill in front.
01:11:53We're running out of water.
01:11:56I don't know if we're all going to make it.
01:11:58This is killing me.
01:12:00Oh, God.
01:12:01I can't.
01:12:03Oh, my gosh.
01:12:11The sun is kicking.
01:12:14Oh, I don't know if I can make it.
01:12:17Oh, you guys are so...
01:12:19Let's keep pushing.
01:12:21Keep pushing.
01:12:21One foot in front of the other guys.
01:12:22Keep pushing.
01:12:23Okay.
01:12:24We got this.
01:12:25Oh, yeah.
01:12:26Strong work team.
01:12:27Not long left.
01:12:28We're up on the crest of the hill, so I'm not sure what more we got in store, but my mouth
01:12:33is dry.
01:12:34I'm out of water.
01:12:37I feel like I can't take any more steps.
01:12:41Just keep pushing.
01:12:42Keep pushing, too.
01:12:44Did you say anything was?
01:12:46Looks like we got a clearing up here, guys.
01:12:48No way.
01:12:48Really?
01:12:49We got an opening?
01:12:50Oh, God.
01:12:51I hope so.
01:12:53Guys, there's something down here.
01:12:54There is something down here.
01:12:56That's not nature.
01:12:57Guys, look at this.
01:12:58What the?
01:12:59I hear music.
01:13:01I can see it.
01:13:02Holy crap.
01:13:03Oh, my God.
01:13:03Oh, my God.
01:13:14Hello?
01:13:14Oh, my God.
01:13:20You know, I've completed a lot of challenges.
01:13:22Usually it's an airplane or a helicopter or, you know, a truck, but there's traditional
01:13:27African song and dance.
01:13:29It's awesome.
01:13:31I've done no music for 15 days.
01:13:32And I see a barbecue going on.
01:13:34I smell food.
01:13:36Yeah.
01:13:39Now, that is a welcome sight.
01:13:41To see friendly faces and hear laughter and music is overwhelming for the senses, and I
01:13:49don't really know what to make of it.
01:13:52Did we die?
01:13:53We've died and gone to heaven.
01:13:54After surviving the apocalypse, coming back into civilization, it was more confusing than
01:14:00anything.
01:14:00It's a crazy feeling.
01:14:02I don't even know what to do.
01:14:04Give me some food.
01:14:05Can I have some of that?
01:14:05Yeah.
01:14:07Humanity still exists.
01:14:09We're done.
01:14:09We've escaped this hellhole of a bush.
01:14:12Oh, my God.
01:14:12Fat.
01:14:13Nice.
01:14:14That's the first bat I've seen in 35 days.
01:14:17Look at that drip.
01:14:18You know, I come out here to test my skills for a doomsday situation.
01:14:22And, you know, I nailed it.
01:14:25I did my best to provide food for the team.
01:14:28You know, people like us, we just kind of do what we do.
01:14:31And we're not hoping for a doomsday situation, but we're always ready for one.
01:14:35I normally have more manners than this.
01:14:37I apologize now.
01:14:39Give me some of this fruit.
01:14:40Oh, s***.
01:14:41Oh, fruit.
01:14:42We went from hell all the way to paradise, and it feels good.
01:14:46Oh, good, man.
01:14:47I feel proud and privileged.
01:14:49Everyone had that grit to make it to the end of an arduous 35 days crazy challenge.
01:14:55Now I'm confident I feel happy to survive the apocalypse.
01:14:57You want to feel like I've got bragging rights here?
01:15:02It's been an absolute pleasure, mate.
01:15:03Good job, man.
01:15:04Way to be a great team member.
01:15:05Well done, brother.
01:15:07Do you want to take care of me from the start?
01:15:08We did.
01:15:09I came here to do battle with South Africa and come out successful.
01:15:14And it's my first Africa completion in the harshest apocalyptic environment you could ever think up.
01:15:21And so I'm super proud.
01:15:23Oh, my God.
01:15:25I don't even know what to say at this point because I feel like I entered as one person
01:15:29and emerged as something completely different.
01:15:32I think coming into this challenge, I was more a survivor than a survivalist.
01:15:38And now I realize that if I survived Africa for 35 days, I can survive anything.
01:15:45Come on.
01:15:46You made it.
01:15:47I'm happy.
01:15:47Oh, God.
01:15:48You're gross.
01:15:50Quite a real and good moment.
01:15:51Woo!
01:15:52I'm really proud of Teal.
01:15:54Proud of how far she pushed herself through a lot of adversity, too.
01:15:58She did it her way.
01:15:59She dug deep when she had to dig deep and she made it.
01:16:01It was a beautiful thing to watch.
01:16:03Hey, keep Thunderbone.
01:16:05We made it.
01:16:05We made it.
01:16:05We made it to make it to me.
01:16:07Funny game.
01:16:07I love you guys.
01:16:08My original team, Lex and Frank, have impressed me so much.
01:16:13And I don't think we would have got through it if we wouldn't have been together.
01:16:16Yeah.
01:16:16Cheers up.
01:16:17Meet up.
01:16:18Meet up.
01:16:18Woo!
01:16:19We problem solved as a team.
01:16:21And watching them succeed is amazing.
01:16:24And I absolutely feel blessed.
01:16:27Yeah!
01:16:27Woo!
01:16:28Woo!
01:16:28Woo!
01:16:29Woo!
01:16:29Woo!
01:16:29Woo!
01:16:29Woo!
01:16:30Woo!
01:16:30Woo!
01:16:31Woo!
01:16:32Woo!
01:16:32Woo!
01:16:33Woo!
01:16:33Woo!
01:16:34Woo!
01:16:34I did 17 days alone, trying to endure the hell that's been this apocalypse.
01:16:39I suffered as an individual, and I thrived as a member of a group.
01:16:43And I think that's the biggest lesson that I can come out of in survival here.
01:16:47With a group like this, this group is undefeatable.
01:16:51There we go.
01:16:52There we go.
01:16:53Many people believe going into the apocalypse that they'll just self-confine and board yourself
01:16:59in your house.
01:17:00But I did learn that's really not thriving.
01:17:03And what we were able to accomplish together was far superior to anything that I ever imagined.
01:17:08And I'm grateful for that.
01:17:10We had to adapt our survival skills on an ongoing basis.
01:17:14They had to be fluid.
01:17:15They had to be dynamic.
01:17:16Everything's going to change around you, and you have to be able to change and adapt with
01:17:19it.
01:17:19If you don't, you're not going to make it.
01:17:21I'm glad that after this, I'm definitely more prepared for a situation like that.
01:17:25And I pray that it never happens.
01:17:27But if it does happen, the king will definitely get through it.
01:17:30Way to go, team.
01:17:31Take it to the prize!
01:17:32Yeah!
01:17:36Come on.
01:17:36Woo!
01:17:40Rip shower.
01:17:41Pick that wet feet.
01:17:43I bet it's when I always bring one of these.
01:17:46Every day, I'm just grateful I'm back from that African hellhole.
01:17:49This is what I love to do.
01:17:51And how did you see that?
01:17:53This is me.
01:17:55I'm frying up some liver with onions.
01:17:57Yum-o!
01:17:58Welcome to Africa.
01:18:03After battling the barren wasteland for 35 days, the survivalist bodies paid a serious
01:18:11toll.
01:18:13Ha-ha-ha-ha!
01:18:15I'm a potty moth.
01:18:16Spending half the challenge alone.
01:18:18I'm going to roast it, and I'm going to eat it.
01:18:20Joe's extra workload and limited calories led to a loss of 62 pounds.
01:18:30Good gosh.
01:18:32He's eating all our dinner.
01:18:34This place doesn't want us to eat.
01:18:36Working at a calorie deficit for most of the 35 days.
01:18:39You know you're hungry when you're picking through some animal's crap to find something to eat.
01:18:46Wes finally finished the challenge in Africa, and in the process, lost 36 pounds.
01:18:52Oh, wow.
01:18:53Entering the challenge as a vegetarian.
01:18:55Family dinner of scorpion shish kebab.
01:18:58Alexa made the necessary choices to survive.
01:19:02Mmm.
01:19:03That was weird.
01:19:04And still escaped the challenge with a total loss of 31 pounds.

01:19:16I am so excited to get clean.
01:19:23Where are we?
01:19:2635 days.
01:19:27I haven't seen myself.
01:19:28I look an absolute treat.
01:19:30I'm a little skinny.
01:19:34Very tan.
01:19:3635 days in the hardest challenge I've ever been to.
01:19:40Just got out, got in the room, haven't even showered yet.
01:19:44But I'm feeling really strong.
01:19:46First shower.
01:19:47After Africa.
01:19:49She's got my feet.
01:19:51A mask.
01:19:54She's like, I always bring one of these.
01:19:56Brillo pads?
01:19:58No Brillo pads.
01:19:59Making our brain tips and tricks.
01:20:02Headed home.
01:20:04Just a quick 22-hour trip.
01:20:09Who's that?
01:20:10Hey, girls.
01:20:12Hello.
01:20:14Who is that?
01:20:15Well, I did it.
01:20:20Took me five years to get back to South Africa.
01:20:23But I did it.
01:20:24And in the most hellish landscape that you could possibly survive in.
01:20:28And if a real apocalypse comes, you can believe I'll survive that too.
01:20:31I don't know what I expect the apocalypse to teach me, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't.
01:20:37To have a love of red meat.
01:20:38This is me.
01:20:40I'm frying up some liver with onions.
01:20:42Yum-o.
01:20:42Oh, my God.
01:20:50This is honestly an absolute life changer for me.
01:20:55When we're out there, it was scorching hot.
01:20:57And now all I have to do is this.
01:20:59I have to just press this one button right here.
01:21:01And I'll say 70.
01:21:03I don't think so.
01:21:04But we're on 68.
01:21:06Let's go.
01:21:07There's one thing I miss so much from when we've escaped the apocalypse and being back to reality is Wrigley Tin.
01:21:15So, at my survival school, I've got a new container on site.
01:21:21And I've put a roof on it.
01:21:23Wrigley Tin.
01:21:24I cannot get away from this stuff.
01:21:26They say it helped me a lot when I was on the apocalypse.
01:21:29The king has bought a castle.
01:21:31And not only a castle, the house that I actually grew up in.
01:21:34I have been renovating, remodeling.
01:21:37While doing all this, I've learned that a majority of the tools around your house would work incredibly perfect for an apocalyptic situation.
01:21:47Mini chainsaw.
01:21:52Everybody during the apocalypse should have one of these.
01:21:54I'm just saying.
01:21:56After being in Africa, it's good to be back home seeing stuff like this in your own damn yard.
01:22:02That male came right around.
01:22:04And a good size.
01:22:07Every day, I'm just grateful I'm back from that African hellhole.
01:22:11This is what I love to do.
01:22:12And you see that?
01:22:15You tried me.
01:22:17We'll get him in this cooler here.
01:22:19Get him someplace safe.
01:22:21That's why it's always important to have a good cooler with you or a bucket.
01:22:26Hey, it's Joe.
01:22:26And I'm back in my normal life.
01:22:28Except my normal life looks a whole lot different now.
01:22:30Because of the challenge, because of what I faced, and what I came to understand about sustainability and the apocalypse.
01:22:37I quit my government job of 20 years.
01:22:40And now I own a feed store.
01:22:42It's something that's been a part of a community for 40 years.
01:22:45And it was going to shudder.
01:22:47So I threw my hat in.
01:22:49And they took my offer.
01:22:50And now that's what I'm going to be doing.
01:22:52I'm going to be providing that service for a community.
01:22:54I'm going to be educating people on some homesteading and just some self-reliance.
01:22:59And that's something that this challenge has really brought for me.
01:23:03Because this world is precious.
01:23:05It's a beautiful place.
01:23:06But at any minute, it can change.
01:23:09Going out into the unknown and being met with that barren wasteland was definitely the hardest part about this challenge.
01:23:17I was astonished with my capability when there's really no other choice.
01:23:22And that is what survival is about.
01:23:25You just have to get out alive.
01:23:27End of the world, I got you.
