00:20Hi, Tim Roy on the call last night right here on 95.7 The Game. Wow. And it's crossover time, so let's welcome in Willard and Dibbs. What's up, gentlemen? Hello, boys. Will, you go ahead. I love angry announcers. It's my favorite. It's one of my favorite things when the play-by-play people, Fleming is great at them. You can tell they're wearing it. You told me a week ago, Guru, I'm worried about you. The Warriors hit lost. I'm worried about you.
00:46Fan load management. And I kind of, I remember that, but now everybody's wearing it after last night. And I'm proud of myself. Not everybody. Not everybody. No, no, no. I'm mad at the comments from the stewards of the team. I didn't appreciate that.
01:01We can get into all of that. I still think that, like, isn't there room for, last night was awful, that was borderline embarrassing for a night.

01:48And had Dre done that, maybe I'm feeling a bit different. And then I feel like, real quick, they're undermining Steve Kerr 12 games in because now all the basketball world is wondering, what the?

02:00But now what's going on behind closed doors when you're insinuating and sending subliminals, teams don't want to win. I don't like that, Will and Dibs. That's all. I just, I'm not about that.

02:26Sure. Because this thing is already, it's not completely broken like beyond repair, but you're this far into the season and you're already having these statements about agendas.
02:36And the coach has already come out and said things like, you know, the effort wasn't there and the focus.
02:41And Steve, I think a couple days ago, came out and said, I know who we can be. I can see it.
02:46We just need to get there and get that group out there.
02:49And right now, what I'm seeing is a team that is overmatched against Oklahoma City, sure.
02:54But the fact that you're not buttoned up and you're sloppy and now there's a little bit of the sense of there being infighting, that's not good.

03:07I'm always under the impression that when we do hear it publicly, it has been said behind closed doors.

03:19Well, I think that possibly are we potentially making the mistake of acting like this is, these issues all started on game one.

04:21And then Steph Curry gets sick.
04:25And Jonathan takes a big old, you know how we'd have to take a shot of Kaminga.
04:30He takes a syringe full of cooking.
04:32And he injects it into his arm.
04:34And now here we are again with the team watching him turn the ball over five times in 24 minutes.

04:40And to them, this isn't a brand new issue that started night one.
04:44That might be an issue that started four years ago.
04:47But from a team, real quick, dynamic, I don't think it's right this early that you called that out.
04:51Well, I mean, again, that's all to me.
04:53But, again, we don't know if the game ended last night and Draymond was in front of the team saying,
04:59hey, man, we've got to get this together.
05:01And you know who we are.
05:02We know what's going on here.
05:04We're not thinking about winning.
05:05We've got guys thinking about agendas.
05:08Well, then he can come out and say it.
05:10Like, he may have expressed frustration to the team about what he was saying.
05:15Because I just saw Jimmy invited Kamingo over for dinner not too long ago.
05:19So I'm not saying that's who they were talking to.

05:59And I'm sorry if that was just not too long ago to expect them to pick up where they left off.

06:53So it doesn't mean that, you know, they're not the favorite, but they're not dogs either.
06:59But right now, they are disjointed, unfocused.

07:24And so, yeah, the legs were a little bit wobbly and whatnot.
07:27But even when he's at his peak, he doesn't go out there and have 35 a night every night.
07:32Like, older players just don't do that consistently.
07:36You throw in Draymond Green, who is looking, I mean, he's looking old.

07:41He may not play tonight.
07:42Steve Kerr said that going into last night, right?

08:31And the one that's really head-scratching to me is Jimmy Butler.
08:34Not that he needs to be played off Jimmy, but he's just kind of blending in.
08:39Not that he's going through the motions, but these are times where you want somebody to like,
08:43Steph is struggling.
08:44And Kaminga, stop cooking.

08:47There's a two, I could be wrong, two-cool-for-school element that oozes off my TV when I watch Jimmy.

09:02But there is something to him that is like, Jimmy, you know they need you.

09:24Because it has been a tough early schedule.

10:44then their identity, I think, they think will start to come together.

10:51And he's taking a step or two back.

10:57But with that said, when you get Kerr on, if just a suggestion,
11:02last year's lineup of pods, help me out, Stoddy.
11:04Moody, Jimmy, Steph, and Dre is what they went on the run with.
11:09If we haven't seen one minute of that this year, why?

11:14But I'm like, nobody's a slave to, okay, Kaminga, and I'm pro-Kaminga,
11:18but you've got to get that concoction out there.
11:21But I think what Stoddy's about to say, I mean, Moody was hurt at the start of the year.
11:25So he had to start someone else, and then it worked.

11:33How would you all feel if Moody does replace J.K. in the starting lineup tonight?

11:50When you had Steve Kerr on the last time, and he made it clear,
11:55well, Moses Moody is our best on-ball defender, and he kind of is not even close.
12:01Well, just last night I was thinking, well, then he's got to start.
12:04He has to start then on this team if he is in fact that.
12:09Because why not start with a guy who's going to defend first
12:12and then give him a shot to make some threes that come off of Butler and Curry and Draymond.
12:17And then maybe the J.K. let-me-cook role fits better when he comes in at the four-minute market
12:23in the first quarter, and Steph is either winding down or coming out.
12:27I think that will fit, but the bottom line and the rat on the table,

13:51that's going to be a difficult one.
13:52And I can't help but remember last night two times when Pods got caught down low
13:57on defense, Mouse in the house, and Chet Holmgren, he doesn't even have to jump.

14:04And it had me thinking about the one thing this roster doesn't have still,
14:08and that's a legitimate interior big man.

14:12They tried like heck last night to play him, but oh boy.

14:18but there's some early scenes where Bambi can't even make it from point A to point B.

15:47One of them was on an offensive foul, which is a turnover,
15:50but it's not your classic turnover.

16:01and he got stripped after an offensive rebound.
16:03He fought to get it back and lost it again.
16:05He tried to make a fancy bounce pass down low, too, in traffic.

16:11And he had two plays, Stiney, where he was led a pass,
16:14and he didn't get to it, and he was falling out of bounds.
16:16He's got to save it.
16:17It's just the point of a tag defense is it's terrible on defense.
16:23And that's why I thought Jimmy was five, six years ago, Jimmy,
16:26and he's not.
16:28And it's not just him, but I'm like, oh, you're human on defense.
16:31They were terrible on defense at the start of last year.
16:34And then they got really good.
16:36In a crazy way, I want to see, and again,
16:40they might have to play Melton and Moody together some on this team.

16:53So they'll give you defense, and then they can, you know,
16:56Melton made some shots for the Warriors last year,
16:58and Moody's been streaky, so, and if they're two best defensive players,

17:06like Kaminga is way more offense than defense,
17:09but those guys, if their defense is that good,
17:12their offense is good enough to be able to play
17:16if they're playing with, you know, Curry and Butler
17:19and even maybe Kaminga so that they don't have to carry the bulk of the scoring,
