00:00and if a fan base gets unhappy enough they will make moves to to ultimately give in to what the
00:21fan base is clamoring for i'm not going to go that far because i think this was the rare exception
00:27uh you we've never seen a trade like this in the history of sports at least in the modern history
00:32of sports and maybe if babe ruth was sent to the yankees during the age of the internet then
00:38things would have been different but this is this was the most unusual trade that's frankly that's
00:45ever been made uh and so there was the there was a far greater opportunity for uh for management to
00:53hear the complaints of fans i mean fans but you know fans are always going to complain unless
00:59their team ultimately is raising a trophy so um i don't necessarily believe that especially in the
01:06air uh the era of uh major corporate ownership uh i don't i just don't see that happening very much
01:14uh but i think it's still worthy of uh you know fans efforts to make their feelings known
01:21um you know listen the only way you can really make your feelings uh you know hit ownership is
01:27with uh is with your decision making if you decide that you're not going to watch games or going to
01:33go to games or going to spend money on merchandise and and you know parking and concessions and all
01:39those things that that teams you know rely on uh not quite as much as you know getting 76 billion
01:46dollars over the next 11 years from television but if you're getting if you're getting hit like that
01:51i mean businesses will pay attention and so from that standpoint that you know this definitely was
01:59a win for the fan but i don't see it as a long term uh change of direction as far as how
02:06ownership regards the decision making that they make
