00:00Jair Alexander of the Philadelphia Eagles is stepping away from the game right now,
00:04I guess, to get a mental clarity and getting a little bit healthier with his name.
00:08Here's the understanding, which, you know, always came through.
00:11Jair Alexander was a really, really good football player for the Green Bay Packers.
00:15Top-level cornerback, paid like it and performed like it.
00:18But we always saw some of those snippets coming out where he is a little bit squirrely at times.
00:22But again, some of these NFL guys, you know, just, hey, look, this is how they were superstars.
00:26They're a little bit off, you know, per se.
00:28But now we take a look at Jair Alexander, where he's gone from the Green Bay Packers.
00:33And it's like, ooh, off-season signing for the Baltimore Ravens.
00:35Like, man, that's a good signing.
00:36If that works out and he's healthy, the Baltimore Ravens might have one of the most talented defenses in the NFL,
00:41maybe the best secondary.
00:42And it's like, well, wait a second.
00:43He's not playing.
00:44He's inactive.
00:45But he's healthy.
00:46But they're trying to get him right.
00:47And all this goes down.
00:49And it's like, something doesn't make sense here, Joe.
00:51Then he gets traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
00:53And all indications are, hey, man, I'm feeling great.
00:54Going to get to Philadelphia.
00:55I practiced right away with the thoughts of him starting against the Green Bay Packers, his former team.
01:01Only to be led that the Eagles took a plane trip out to Green Bay.
01:05He wasn't included.
01:06And they said, look, too fast, too soon.
01:08Got to learn the system.
01:09He'll be back next week.
01:10Then the next round of information comes out.
01:13Jair Alexander is stepping away from the NFL, Joe.
01:15And it's a total about-face, Donnie, from when, you know, we just, when he was traded, they interviewed him there.
01:24And, I mean, even last Tuesday, he was totally happy to have a shot to come to Philadelphia.
01:30He had a, he said, what, I wanted to prove myself.
01:34I can be what I know I am.
01:36He suggested he was healthier than he had been all season.
01:40He was born in Philadelphia, Donnie, and his family is still there.
01:45So, you know, you're right.
01:46Once he didn't travel with the team, it didn't, it was, all right, give him the benefit of doubt.
01:52Maybe they're giving him a chance to get assimilated.
01:54But it kind of felt like there was something more to the story.
01:58And that's exactly what it turned out to be.
