00:00A Turning Point USA event met with protests and violence at UC Berkeley.
00:13The campus event Monday marked the final stop for the American Comeback Tour, which conservative
00:19activist Charlie Kirk had begun before he was fatally shot in Utah. The event featuring
00:24comedian and actor Rob Schneider and others reportedly prompted large-scale protests and
00:30at least three people were arrested amid the chaos. Police say two people were detained after a
00:36fight. Four students were also arrested for alleged vandalism after authorities say they
00:41tried to hang a cardboard cutout of an insect on a gate prior to the event. Some protesters reportedly
00:48shouted chants like fascists out of Berkeley. Kirk's former chief of staff accused Antifa of
00:54being behind the disruptions on social media, while Schneider praised those who stayed at
00:59the event as courageous Berkeley students who refused to be intimidated by the not-very-tolerant
01:05left, adding, we know who the real fascists are. UC Berkeley officials say they're reviewing
01:10security measures in wake of the protests and violence. A university official released a
01:15statement expressing support for students to participate in events held by student organizations
01:20and its speakers' rights to share their message regardless of ideology.
