00:00I kind of want to walk through, like, in your perspective, the top five on the market, who you think the big money guys are.
00:07I don't even know if top five is the way to go about it.
00:10And you could do tiers.
00:12I'm almost thinking, who are the guys that could sign a nine-figure contract?
00:17I think that's the way that I want to pose it to you.
00:19Yeah, well, I think, of course, Tucker's the clear one, as you mentioned.
00:23And then I think Cody Bellinger's is a guarantee at this point as well.
00:26So you have those two, I think, right off the bat that I think are pretty much an absolute guarantee to bring in that kind of money.
00:35And I think with what Bellinger did this past year, it's amazing.
00:39And I'm very fascinated to see how his market materializes, but you know it's going to be north of that.
00:44After those two, I mean, who's getting nine figures?
00:49I think what Trent Grisham has done and the fact that he's going to be, I think, just on the other side of 30, that absolutely helps.
00:56But he's not getting anything that big.
00:59Maybe if we ended the season in June, Cedric Mullins could be a candidate, but that's not going to happen, right?
01:06So he's more of a one, two-year deal guy.
01:08It really just seems like it's two guys that are going to be able to make that push for nine figures.
01:14And I think one's going to clear it very comfortably.
01:16And even Bellinger, I don't think anyone's even going to bother making an offer south of 100 mil.
01:24So Rob Refsnyder does not fit your criteria for a nine-figure contract?
01:28I love me some short platoon killer, but I don't think Refsnyder is going to crack it there.
01:32Okay, so the two clear-cut Tucker and Bellinger.
01:37The question is, where does Bellinger sit?
01:39Is he in the 100 to 150 range?
01:41Is he in the 150 to 200 range?
01:43I would assume 100 to 150, especially with what's possibly looming in 27.
01:49Tucker, I mean, it's a conversation that could last an hour.
01:52Is he a $300 million player?
01:54Is he a $400 million player?
01:55Is he a three for 120 and you've got to prove it again kind of guy?
02:00I have no idea.
02:01But I do want to take you to the $50 million plus range.
02:06Because I do think there are some guys that fit in the $50 million plus range.
02:10I don't think Cedric Mullins fits in there anymore, to be honest, with how badly he finished the year.
02:14But a guy like Harrison Bader is going to get north of $50 million.
02:18Trent Grisham, I feel like, is a lot to get north of $50 million.
02:21But there are some interesting ones for me here.
02:24Like, would you give Miguel Andujar $50 for what he's done over the last two years?
02:32Probably not.
02:32But you're giving him a multi-year deal and how expensive is that multi-year deal?
02:36So is it three for $50?
02:38Like, it's not that crazy to wrap my brain around.
02:41I think because of the lack of defensive value, it'll probably skew more towards that, like,
02:48you know, two for $45 or two for $40 or three for a little bit less AAV.
02:55But I think people are going to be surprised by the deal that Andujar probably brings in.
02:59And I think he's one of the more underrated bats on the market.
03:04The Grisham conversation is interesting, too, because it's just such a career year.
03:09And you always get nervous buying on the career years.
03:11We're talking about two career years here, too.
03:14We're talking about a Grisham career year, and we're talking about a Bader career year.
03:18And it's like, which do you buy into more?
03:20Both are very talented.
03:22So that's the thing.
03:23It's not like it's out of complete nowhere.
03:25Both have some prospect pedigree.
03:27Both have the defensive ability.
03:29Both can really run and run into some baseballs.
03:32But who would you be more comfortable giving a long-term deal to at this point?
03:37I mean, we got 34 homers in a, I think, stadium situation where it favors Grisham in the pull side a little bit.
03:43But even then, I think he was hitting home runs just about anywhere.
03:46And then you have Bader, who did it in multiple environments, just looked like a gamer all year long,
03:52and was more well-rounded, I would say, in his game.
03:55Like, it's kind of interesting.
03:57Grisham didn't defend by the metrics as well as you would have thought.
04:01So as I walk through it, I almost think, yeah, there might be a little bit more excitement with Grisham's bat,
04:05but he's also never hit more than 17 homers before this.
04:09So he doubled up his career best.
04:11And before that, he had three straight years of comfortably below-average production.
04:17Is Bader the safer bet?
04:19I never would have thought we'd be referring to Harrison Bader as safe, but between these two, I think it's interesting.
