03:44balance he's got great edge work and he knows it you have to trust your edges in this situation

03:53and then you turn on a dime leaving the defender to panic trying to get back in

09:24second frame is underway as the puck is dropped all right counter how would you assess this game through the first 20 minutes played

09:30anaheim's coaching staff isn't going to be thrilled with their power play through that first period

09:35they've got to find a way to possess the puck but when they see the seams they've got to attack them

09:39there's the whistle we've got it offside

09:44the ducks can't afford to get rattled here early in this second period they've had more shots on goal

09:50yet they still trail anaheim's won the draw in the neutral zone

09:55looking to make something happen in the offensive zone

09:59to the crease scores and we are back to even yeah tie game now james i feel like the energy that they

10:07show throughout the game but now it's about channeling the energy they've just created and doing something with it

10:15well this is just a fabulous shot when you're in that high slot area you know that you're going to be

10:19close upon quickly so you've got to have a quick release that's the first thing and the second

10:23thing is the accuracy if it's quick and it's on you're going to score anaheim's been right there

10:29with them all night long and look at this we've got the equalizing goal yeah that counter punch was

10:34something james to be able to get the equalizer you can see the excitement on the bench that's going to

10:38provide a lot of energy in the second period and he's got the answer for that one here they come on the

11:49this guy is going to have to hang on to this and get a whistle yeah he anticipates the play really

11:54well right now and he's able to hold on there i don't mind that play at all he hasn't been busy

11:58hasn't had to make many saves his team's winning this game just can reset as well in his own zone

12:03and allow that line change backlands won the draw there on the attack puck is frozen and we'll get a face off

18:07don't have urgency you're not going to get the puck if you don't get the puck you can't do anything

18:11with it you certainly can't score james they've been back on their heels and chasing the game they've got

18:22anaheim's got the lead early in this third period they have been a high volume shooting squad tonight

18:32shuts them down this style is gonna hang on for a whistle

18:36still plenty of time left in this frame the ducks lead at 2-1 in what has been an entertaining game

21:06i'm not sure if anyone's helping him out there but he's dialed in and doing it all himself making

21:18it's a great job with some great pushes to get to the top of his piece and make the save from a high

21:46oh yeah it's all about the bounces isn't it james and you got to get the right one and that one is in

21:57we haven't even hit the midway mark of the period the ducks have all the momentum right now leading by two

22:07quick pass across to kriger and he takes the feed calvary's got the puck now

22:15and he's pulled over to the ice and loses the puck

22:18from the point looks to make something happen the ducks gain possession of the puck here in the

22:23offensive end dallas comes up next on the schedule and you know much like this fan base they also

22:30travel well should be a fun one i'm looking forward to it past the halfway mark of this period it's a

22:37two-goal lead we're looking at with the score of 3-1 and a great scene ladar's save percentage

22:43has been excellent and he's doing everything to stand tall in the crease now it's time for his team to

22:48start playing for him they got to get going north but the first thing they need to do

22:51is retrieve the puck and stop chasing the game

22:56the ducks have looked good tonight especially offensively here in this third period

23:03offenses don't face off but he wins the draw

23:07the ducks will play it in their own end man has he ever been dangerous tonight he's got two goals and

23:17back to the point it goes and he comes up with a save and a solid save there as he plays

23:25that's an incredible sequence of saves he is so dialed in but i gotta say where are the d-boxing out

23:30this is a face-off they'll definitely want to win here inside the offensive zone

23:44scores it in front that's an unbelievable save a great a scoring chance taken away as he flashes the

23:53anaheim's been on a roll offensively tonight lots of chances and they lead it late in this third

24:01same coaches wanted in their own end over the line they come the ducks can control the puck against

24:10the wall oh look out against the wall well and this is done well challenge accepted look at this

24:19uh this is the result of the first two periods right you're late in the game frustrations are at

24:23an all-time high and so you drop the gloves

24:34and this one's over as they get down to the ice

24:36well i'm exhausted watching it james at least the officials can come in now and break it up

24:40i like where i'm at this is why a lot of people are wary of fighting james it can be dangerous

24:49and it can lead to significant injury

25:03well it looks as though the tensions have finally simmered and we're ready to get back to what we

25:11actually came here in the first place for hockey anaheim's won the draw big time shot block there

25:19the flames move the puck in the defensive zone

25:24anaheim's got a hold of the puck now cryder's got the puck along the way

25:47oh this is what i would call a complete play james because he starts it and he finishes it

25:52it's all about being physically engaged and that's what sets this play up

25:56he's able to separate the puck from body get the turnover and then he's right there for the gift

26:00and put in the back of the net

26:04the ducks continue to bring up the score here in period number three well it's just been a terrific

26:09collective effort now they're on the home stretch and the coaching staff has a real opportunity to

26:14utilize their bench rest their star players and this is critical when they're in a long season

26:20the flames gain possession along the wall big time stop there

26:28got some bodies here on the attack blocked although that might be a save

26:32well that is a save james i don't think the goaltender would have gotten to position in time

26:36he's able to take it away and now it's grabbed by lacombe quick feed to mctavish

26:54that's a fly stopped by the goaltender

26:57scrum ensues and on the boards works it across to clip here's the shot and that goes off the player in

27:08moving it ahead moves it to coronado

27:11puts it on there oh and somehow he gets a sliver of it and keeps him up a

27:17well a nice save by the goaltender and even better is that he redirects the puck to the corner to safety

27:22oh what a save in front this is a really nice save james i mean the shooter's in the middle of

27:27the ices in the small area he's got to get to the top of the three square to the puck to be able

27:31to make that save great job coming up on the final minute of regulation time

27:40here's a chance oh it stays out he's got a piece of that one anaheim's got the puck behind the net

27:46and up along the boards come behind his own cage he grabs the puck

27:54puts it on there gets a piece of it to keep it out

28:04final horn sounds bringing this one to a close

28:08and they find a way to dig down and they had to work for it but they finally stopped the losing streak

28:14like this not only can you be embarrassed but you don't know what to do to get out of it you're

28:23trying everything you can but if nothing is going your way so now you can take a breath

28:28you can build some confidence you know the work that needs to be done in practice

28:32because the next game that first period is critically important
