Blossom Toes — If Only For A Moment 1969 (UK, Heavy Psychedelic Rock)
The second and final LP from the English band. The recording featured new drummer Barry Reeves and guest American folk-blues guitarist Shawn Phillips. The compositions are imbued with the spirit of experimental, heavy Californian psychedelia with elements of early progressive rock. The musicians' mature work bore no resemblance to the previous album. A more serious instrumental approach relied on sharp guitar and vocal passages against a powerful rhythm section. The magic and naivety of the first album were gone... In late 1969, the musicians were in a car accident while returning from a concert at Bristol University. Everyone survived, but their collaboration was over. Two years later, the three original members: Brian Godding, Brian Belshaw, and Kevin Westlake, recorded the one-off project "B.B. Blunder."
