Pugsley Munion — Just Like You 1970 (USA, Heavy Psychedelic, Hard Rock)
Pugsley Munion began their career in 1969 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, under the name Mask. When they decided to record an album, they had to change the name because it turned out there was another Mask. The word "Pugsley" came from a street sign in New York City, and "Munion" was the name of a cop they knew. The band initially consisted of John Schuller, Tom Belliveau, and Ed Kelly. John Schuller was the primary creative force, writing all the songs either alone or with Belliveau. The album "Just Like You" was recorded at Bell Sound Studios in New York and released by the small label J&S Records in 1970. Pugsley Munion played excellent hard rock, with graceful guitar and thunderous organ, in the style of the best work of the 1960s. After the band's breakup in late 1971, John Schuller participated in various projects and groups. Tom Belliveau became a popular session guitarist, participating in tours and recording albums for many renowned artists, including John Cafferty, Terence Trent D'Arby, Peter Wolfe, and many others. Ed Kelly became a sought-after session drummer.
