Learn how to create Excel line chart with a gradient fill beneath it.

Here are the steps outlined in my video.

Insert Line Chart
1) Duplicate Total Sales column
2) Place cursor in dataset, and Ctrl + A
3) Insert ~ Charts ~ Line With Markers
4) Resize and reposition

Create Area Chart
1) Click on the line chart
2) Chart Design
3) Type ~ Change Chart Type
4) Change the Orange chart, to Area
5) OK

Gradient Area Chart
1) Right-click Area chart
2) Format Data Series
3) Fill & Line
4) Fill
5) Gradient fill

00:00If you want to create an area gradient chart like this, this is how you do it.
00:04First, you're going to duplicate the total sales on the side like this.
00:08Once this is done, put your cursor anywhere on your data set,
00:12and then press Ctrl A to select the whole data set table like this.
00:15Next, you go to Insert, Chart, Line Chart, and you're going to select a line with marker.
00:22And then after that, resize and reposition it nicely like this.
00:27Now, there's two line charts on top of each other.
00:29You're going to select any of the line charts.
00:31Just click on the line chart like this, and then go Chart Design, and over here, Change Chart Type.
00:38This one will come up here.
00:40Select Combo, and we're going to change the blue line into Stack Area Chart like that, and click OK.
00:48And next, to do the gradient, right-click on the area chart like this, and go Format Data Series.
00:55Go Fill and Line, under this Fill section, if it's closed, open it up like that, select Gradient, and you're done.
