00:00If you have to draw a linear target sales line right across your existing
00:03data set bar chart, this is how I do it. Let me give you a brief introduction of
00:07my existing data set here. Okay this chart here is actually derived from
00:12dates and total sales here. Now to include the target sale, what you do is
00:15that you highlight your target sales like this, ctrl C to copy in a clipboard
00:20then you select your bar chart and then you ctrl V to include the target sales
00:26as a bar chart here. Now to convert the bar chart into a line chart, what you do
00:31is right click on your bar chart here and you go change charts type. In here you're
00:37going to select combo from the left hand side of the menu and series 2 is your
00:42line bar. So it's actually indicating line right now. I'm going to leave it as this
00:46and click OK and it will draw a line chart for you like this. Another practical use
00:52of this line chart would be to show an average line chart here. I'm going to
00:56change this target to say average and the first argument would be the total sales
01:02here. I'm going to press F4 to make it absolute reference and then close
01:06parenthesis hit enter and then I'm going to apply the same formula to the rest of
01:09the rows and then now it shows an average sales for the whole year.
