00:01Gotta go get my suitcase.
00:04What do we need?
00:05We need pajamas.
00:09Since Bridget and Kendra have shared their hometowns with me,
00:12I really want to take them to Alaska.
00:15Giz giz.
00:16What's the temperature like in Alaska?
00:18Should we look it up?
00:19High of 49.
00:21Brrr.
00:22I'm going to take the puffin pajamas.
00:25Yay!
00:26We moved to Alaska from Oregon when I was two years old.
00:29My dad worked in the timber industry, so we moved up there.
00:33And, you know, we pretty much lived out in the woods.
00:36I mean, Craig is a very small town.
00:39We lived there for about 10 years, so I moved back to Oregon when I was 12.
00:44And I could take Bridget and Kendra back to Oregon,
00:46but I really want to take them back to Alaska because it's a whole different world.
00:50I want to see how they react.
00:52Guess what kind of plane I have to take?
00:54Oh, no, you're not taking that seaplane, are you?
00:57Yes.
00:58Oh, God.
00:59Kendra's scared to fly, so she was definitely afraid of a tiny float plane.
01:04You're not going to land on any glacier or anything, are you?
01:07I don't think so.
01:09I think on water.
01:10Oh, my God.
01:11It's going to feel like you're crashing into the ocean.
01:13I know.
01:14It's going to be scary.
01:15I think Alaska's going to be so beautiful.
01:17Just not on a plane.
01:18It's going to get ready for me.
01:20Ouch.
01:21It's going to humid.
01:24Since we're going to Alaska for four days, this trip will be the longest that Hef and I have gone without seeing each other in five years.
01:51I love you. Big time. Take care of yourselves. We're going on an adventure. I know you are. Hef is not going. He would not last in Alaska because he can't rough it. He's too high maintenance. Bye, honey. I'll miss you very much. I need a kiss before I die on a float plane. I'll miss you all. I'll miss you too. Come back very soon.
02:21When we first landed in Alaska, I thought it was the most beautiful place ever. Hey, what's up? How are your flight? Hey, good to see you guys.
02:33My parents met me at the airport in Alaska, and I'm so glad they came because I would have been lost without them. Hey, guys, where do I go? You head down. I follow that white van. Not too quickly because there is water down there.
02:48It's been over 12 years since we've been in Alaska, and I'm so glad they came because I don't know if I'm remembering things correctly. You know, I need them to really help me out a lot.
03:02Oh, look at the owl. Its head follows you. Oh, my gosh. That's so funny.
03:06Right away, when we got off of the plane, we were ready to go on our wildlife-watching expedition.
03:12Today, we are going to go to two beaches. A good chance of seeing a black bear at either of these beaches.
03:18What about whales? Good chance of seeing a whale as well. We'll be on our way.
03:22Okay. Sounds like fun. Cool.
03:25A duck. A duck? A duck. I'd be excited if I saw a fish jump up. I know.
03:39When I think of Alaska, I think of playing with my friends and just a lot of nature and outdoors, so I was happy to see that not much had changed.
03:49There have been sightings of humpback whales and killer whales in the last few days, so we've got to keep our eyes open for spouts.
03:57All right. Come on, whales. Come on, whales. Come on.
04:01We have some sort of, like, instrument we could play to, like, get them to come up.
04:06Eee! Eee! Eee! Eee! Come on!
04:10Damn it. She's down. Hunters.
04:12So we're going to pick up speed again and head off toward bear country.
04:16Okay. Bears!
04:17When I was a kid, we would see bears all the time.
04:21They'd go through our garbage in our backyard, and we'd see them if we ever had to take anything to the dump.
04:27So it was moments like that. It wasn't wilderness tours.
04:31Wee!
04:33Just seeing all that green, like, we don't get that here in L.A.
04:37We don't get all that green trees and the pretty water and, like, fresh air.
04:42I know. It's just beautiful.
04:43Wow. This is so neat. So cool.
04:47This is weird.
04:50It was a lot of fun to be able to hang out with my family and Bridget and Kendra because we got to go a lot of cool places that I used to go when I was a kid and go through the woods and just hike around.
05:01And I just loved it.
05:08Let's go find bears, Joe.
05:11I don't really need this on film.
05:12Captain Mike.
05:14Captain Mike, he had to take a gun with us in case a bear got too close.
05:18You swear to God you won't shoot it.
05:23I swear.
05:24You better not, dude.
05:25I'll kill myself, I swear.
05:28Well, this is bear country.
05:31It doesn't get any better than this for habitat.
05:33We went looking for bears, we didn't see a fucking bear.
05:49We went looking for whales, we didn't see a fucking whale.
05:51They need to ban bear hunting and whale hunting.
05:52I'm about to seriously do like some sort of charity event for like saving the whales and the bears.
05:58After we were done looking for wildlife, we decided to shop for souvenirs.
06:04After we were done looking for wildlife, we decided to shop for souvenirs.
06:09Braah!
06:11Braah!
06:12Yeah, he's awesome.
06:14Oh, I see another puffin I have to get for my puffin collection.
06:18Yay!
06:20A puffin is a very special little bird.
06:23They live in Alaska and they look a little like a penguin, but they have a colored rainbow beak.
06:30Oh, I got to get this too.
06:32What should I get for Hef?
06:33Get him the scaling puffin here, here.
06:36What is that?
06:37The scaling is a puffin, right?
06:39That's not my deal, dude.
06:40That's the Holly's deal.
06:41You know, Holly has all this fun getting all this puffin stuff, you know.
06:46But I want to have fun too and get him stuff, so I deserve to give my boyfriend a nickname too.
06:51I need a name to call Hef.
06:53I'm going to call him Moose.
06:56Moose.
06:57Okay.
06:58I'm going to call him Moose so I can get a bunch of Moose stuff.
07:02Yeah.
07:03Yeah.
07:04I'm getting my Moose something.
07:06All right.
07:07I'm getting my Moose a Moose.
07:09Aw, Moose.
07:11Oh my gosh.
07:12Here, we can get you up there and take a nice picture, you guys.
07:14There was this gigantic Moose.
07:16I thought, like, this has to be fake, this can't be real.
07:19But no, that is what one of those giant Moose looked like.
07:23This is unbelievable.
07:25That's why we put them in here.
07:27You walk up these stairs and get on the Moose and they superimpose your picture on, like, a rugged background.
07:33So only at Barnaby's.
07:34That's right.
07:36That made my best Alaska souvenir picture.
07:40Riding a Moose with my Starbucks in my hand.
07:49Hi, Puffin Boo.
07:50Hello, my darling.
07:51I've been sitting here in bed waiting for your call and waiting for your call.
07:56I'm on Yukon time.
07:59And how was your day?
08:01Awesome.
08:02We went out on a boat most of the day and it was so much fun.
08:05Oh, that's fantastic.
08:06And I got a stuffed Puffin doll.
08:09Well, the trick is to find a real Puffin.
08:12I'm going to go night-night with it tonight.
08:14Hi, Moose.
08:15Here, I'll pass the phone around.
08:17Hi, honey.
08:18Hi, Bridget.
08:19The good thing about when you're away is it makes me even more happy once I miss you, Puffin.
08:24Aww.
08:25Hi, Moose.
08:26You having a good time?
08:27Yeah.
08:28You know how Holly calls you Puffin?
08:30Uh-huh.
08:31I'm going to call you Moose.
08:33Okay.
08:34Yeah, and Bridget's going to call you Bear.
08:37Burn me Bear.
08:38Yeah, we're having so much fun.
08:40All right, my sweetie.
08:41When you get a good night's sleep, call me when you get a chance.
08:44I will.
08:45I love you.
08:46I love you, Don.
08:47Bye-bye, baby.
08:49Puffin, that was your papa.
08:52So cute.
09:00That's pretty.
09:01That's a really pretty picture.
09:03I wanted to go to a Chinese restaurant that I remembered from when I was a kid.
09:07And it's on Creek Street, which is this really picturesque little place.
09:11Oh, I love the view.
09:12It's sweet.
09:13So this is where you used to come when you were little?
09:14Yeah, I've definitely been here before, I remember it.
09:17Did you guys come here a lot, or?
09:18I only remember coming here one time.
09:19No, because we only came into town once in a while.
09:22Oh, so this was the big town?
09:23Yeah.
09:24This was the big town.
09:25Wow.
09:26You had to get out from where we lived at least once every three months or else you'd go crazy.
09:30Yeah.
09:31Because there wasn't nothing there.
09:34After we had lunch, word must have been out because a huge group formed outside the Chinese food restaurant.
09:41They're all lined up, even over there sitting.
09:43They're just staring.
09:44Yeah!
09:45Hello!
09:47It was so crazy to have a fan response in Alaska and know that this place I used to go, it's like people watch our show now.
09:58Ladies, I love your show.
09:59You guys rock!
10:00Thanks!
10:01Thank you!
10:02Thank you!
10:03Woo!
10:04Welcome!
10:05Welcome!
10:06Welcome!
10:07Welcome!
10:08Welcome!
10:09Hi!
10:10The Alaskan locals were very, very nice.
10:13The bar KJ's that we went to afterwards was packed!
10:18Welcome to KJ's.
10:22There were so many people, they were like hanging from the ceiling, literally.
10:27And they have custom shirts made and things for us to sign.
10:34Oh, you're back!
10:36Oh, my God!
10:37Hi, sister.
10:38We're proud of this ourselves for you ladies.
10:40Thank you!
10:41That's awesome!
10:42I think when people want to come up and take my picture, my parents think that's funny.
10:44Take a picture of me with Holly's mom.
10:45Mom's gonna get on.
10:46Usually, you can get tired of that pretty fast, but because it was my hometown and where I was
11:00from, I was really excited.
11:01I was really excited.
11:02I could have sat there all night.
11:03Oh, my God!
11:04I want to carry this.
11:05It's funny.
11:06You sure?
11:07Yeah, somebody take it.
11:08On our third day in Alaska, my parents had to leave early to go back to Oregon and the
11:19girls and I got ready to go see Craig where I grew up.
11:22Float plane, float plane!
11:23Yeah.
11:24A float plane is a little plane with skis on it so it can land in the water.
11:29I like to go on those because it reminds me of like Amelia Earhart or something, only
11:33hopefully we won't get lost.
11:35Just real quick, safety.
11:36There's four exits, two in the front, two in the back.
11:39Where are the parachutes at?
11:41The parachutes?
11:42No, there's water.
11:43We'll be over the water pretty much most of the time.
11:45You just jump out.
11:46You just jump out.
11:48Are you a little nervous?
11:50Mom.
11:51That's nothing to be nervous about.
11:54I'm not as bad as I thought I would be.
11:55Okay.
11:56So just watch the mountains, okay?
11:58I have dreams about plane crashes like two times a week, okay?
12:03It's always over water.
12:04You girls ready?
12:05Yeah.
12:06We're ready.
12:07I trust our pilot, but these planes are so fragile.
12:10It's like any little thing that happens, you're dead.
12:21Kendra was being pretty brave because I know she hates to fly and those planes are very different.
12:28You know?
12:29I mean, there's not much in between you and the air.
12:32When we were in the air, and this has never happened to me before, but of course it has
12:40to happen when I have my two city slicker friends with me.
12:44The plane starts to break down.
12:47What was that?
12:49Whoa!
12:50And then the whole cockpit kind of filled up with this gassy smell.
12:54And then the pilot's doing stuff and all of a sudden, brrrr, puh, puh.
13:09Kendra freaked out.
13:11She even scratched me, like broke skin and everything.
13:15I'm freaking.
13:16I'm sorry.
13:17I'm sorry.
13:18I'm sorry.
13:19I'm sorry.
13:20I'm sorry.
13:21I'm sorry.
13:22And then the pilot turns around and says, I'm really sorry guys.
13:26I'm going to go ahead and make an emergency landing.
13:28And we're like, what?
13:34First of all, a pilot does not look back and say sorry, okay?
13:37Because sorry only means that something was wrong.
13:44I almost had a hard time.
13:45I swear to God I can.
13:46Well, the smoke and the engines cutting out like that is scary.
13:49Uh-huh.
13:50Because we're not here.
13:51We have to get on a different plane.
13:52What?
13:53We're not at the island.
13:54We have to get on a different plane because it's a little broken.
13:58Shut the fuck up.
14:02So we land at this random dock and come to find out our plane was really breaking down.
14:08And we waited for another plane to take us onto Craig.
14:17I full on had a panic attack when we got off that plane.
14:20I broke down.
14:21I just cried and cried and cried.
14:23You okay, kid?
14:24Yeah.
14:25You're okay.
14:27You want me to grow?
14:29I'd rather do that.
14:30No, no, no.
14:31I'll be okay.
14:33I could have not gone up the next plane.
14:36But like I was thinking like, you know, what are the odds of this happening again?
14:40So I'm like, fuck it.
14:42Now you've faced your fears.
14:44All I think about is going back now.
14:46Like I really have to drink like a lot at lunch.
14:49I'm going to drink a lot.
14:51I'm going to drink a lot.
14:52I'm going to drink a lot.
14:53I'm going to drink a lot.
14:54I'm going to drink a lot.
14:55I'm going to drink a lot.
14:56Holly's hometown of Craig is so tiny.
14:58I mean, it only has 1,200 people.
15:00Like I thought I came from a little town, but Holly takes the cake.
15:03I wanted to take the girls to lunch at Ruthann's in Craig because that place has my favorite
15:09burgers.
15:10Can I get you anything to drink?
15:12Can I have a cranberry vodka please?
15:13Cranberry vodka?
15:14More vodka in it.
15:15Okay.
15:16Double?
15:17Yeah.
15:18And who is Holly?
15:19Me.
15:20Former Craig person.
15:21Yeah.
15:22Craig person.
15:23We've got evidence of your existence.
15:26Oh really?
15:27What's that?
15:28Yeah.
15:29There's a person in the restaurant with a yearbook with your picture in it.
15:31Oh my God.
15:32We didn't even have a yearbook.
15:33Did we?
15:34They have a yearbook with your picture in it.
15:36Hey, what's up?
15:37Hi.
15:38Do you have the yearbook?
15:39Yep.
15:40How come I don't have, I never got a yearbook?
15:42It's from here.
15:43It's great.
15:44Oh.
15:45Ah, there I am.
15:49Oh my God.
15:50Can I see?
15:51Yeah.
15:52I'm gonna see after it.
15:53I thought that was cool.
15:57I didn't even know that existed.
15:59Here you go ladies.
16:00Do we need anything else?
16:01Yeah.
16:02I think we're alright.
16:03Everybody's good?
16:04Yeah.
16:05That's my favorite burger.
16:06The burger was really good.
16:07It was just like I remembered.
16:08Only it seems smaller now.
16:10Woo!
16:11I feel good.
16:12It's just so cool how you're, how you're from like somewhere completely different.
16:17I know, it's weird.
16:18We're all still from the west coast though.
16:20Yeah.
16:21Alright, so should we head on out?
16:25I wonder what Puffin's doing now.
16:32I think when we girls are away for a long period of time Heff does one of two things.
16:38He either parties, and I don't know about it, or he gets a lot of work done.
16:42Hello my darling.
16:44Hello Mr. Heff.
16:45I can't believe it's been three days.
16:49I feel so bad for Heff.
16:51Oh my god.
16:52I mean we've never left him for so long.
16:55This is the longest?
16:56I know, but you know what?
16:59Absence?
17:00Makes the heart go ponder.
17:01The mansion doesn't seem the same to me.
17:03You know when they're...
17:04It doesn't have that energy.
17:06No.
17:07But I'll keep busy.
17:09See you tomorrow.
17:10He definitely worries about us when we're gone, but I think mostly he counts the minutes
17:13until we come back.
17:14Hello baby.
17:15Oh yes.
17:16You're missing mommy, huh?
17:17Well I am too.
17:18How are you darling?
17:19How are you sweets?
17:20Mommy will be home soon.
17:21We'll all be back together soon.
17:23I think it's lonely in the room without me, but it's the only thing that I'm going to
17:24do.
17:25I think it's lonely in the room without me, but it's the only thing that I'm going to
17:38do.
17:39I think it's lonely in the room without me, but there's always the puppies.
17:41Pandy.
17:42Come here little squirt.
17:43Come here little guy.
17:44I think you miss mommy most of all.
17:45I'll see you a little later.
17:46Let's see.
17:47After we had lunch Holly took us on a driving tour of Craig.
17:51I think that's where Jennifer lived and this is where we have like our popcorn stands.
17:56And we went by where she used to sell popcorn and lemonade on the street corner.
18:13We went by her school.
18:15We went past the library and where she took dance classes.
18:19And then we'd been through the whole town.
18:21Does this street go around?
18:22I don't remember this street.
18:23Yeah, take it.
18:24Yeah, we used to have to climb up that hill to get into each other's house.
18:27Where do you live and everything?
18:29Actually, our house used to be right up this road, but there's nothing but dandelions.
18:33Paul's house.
18:34That's where I used to live, right where that truck is.
18:37Is it?
18:38Take a picture of the truck and the dandelions.
18:42It was really overwhelming to be back in Craig.
18:45Like not everything was there that I wanted to see.
18:48Where I lived wasn't there anymore.
18:50There was just a truck in a field and the woods I played in across the street from where I lived
18:54weren't there because they built a building.
18:56But the library was there and the gym was there and the place I had my popcorn stand was there.
19:02So it was a lot of fun to show everybody that.
19:05There's a little picnic table.
19:06There's a little park.
19:07There's a little park.
19:08I said swing set.
19:09Craig's on the day.
19:10We should swing.
19:11Yeah, we should.
19:12Wee!
19:13Wee!
19:14Fun!
19:15I love swings.
19:16Me too.
19:17I haven't been on a swing in a while.
19:20It was kind of fun.
19:21It's good leg exercise.
19:22Even though it was Holly's hometown, it was totally nostalgic for all of us to be on the swing set.
19:30Did you guys ever do the upside down thing?
19:33I think living in Alaska made me the person I am today because I got to play outside a lot and use my imagination a lot.
19:44My lifestyle is really, really different now but I still feel like the same person.
19:49I'm still that kid with the same imagination.
19:52Want to go walk by the water?
19:53Yeah.
19:54Be careful.
19:55Wee!
19:56I don't know why but I feel like this trip was one of my best times to bond with Bridget and Kendra.
20:02I just felt like it was a big adventure.
20:05Look it!
20:06Starfish!
20:07Oh my gosh!
20:08Whoa!
20:09There's a ton.
20:10Kendra, you have to look at these two.
20:12They're on top of each other.
20:13Wow!
20:14What is that?
20:15Starfish doing it.
20:16Oh my gosh!
20:17I think my favorite thing in Alaska was just the fact that it was something that the three of us did together.
20:22You really get to know them better and you're there on their home turf and they can show you around and that's just really cool.
20:28It's so cute!
20:30I just thought it was beautiful like swinging on the swings and like going down to the ocean and stuff like that.
20:36It was a beautiful little town.
20:38But why didn't we take a fucking boat?
20:41Okay.
20:43I enjoyed life while it lasted.
20:45Let's go.
20:46Don't step on the tires.
20:48I think it was brave of Kendra to get back on the plane but she didn't really have a choice.
20:53Either that or she takes a three hour boat ride.
20:56Could have taken a boat?
21:10Hello my darling.
21:11Hi honey!
21:12I'm nauseous.
21:14Awww.
21:16It's been a long trip home.
21:18Hi honey.
21:19Mwah.
21:20Awww.
21:21I'm glad to be on the ground.
21:23Listen, no more flying.
21:24No more.
21:25No.
21:26Yeah.
21:27I can't begin to tell you.
21:28I can't tell you how I missed you.
21:30Oh my god.
21:31I can't begin to tell you.
21:33I think we spent a good amount of time in Alaska but I was ready to get back home.
21:38I'm just glad we all got to do it.
21:39I'm glad I got to share it with Bridget and Kendra and I'm glad that my parents got to
21:44go and it was really special to me.
21:46Listen to that motor.
21:47Did you miss momma?
21:49I can't wait to show you the stuffed puffin I was sleeping with.
21:50Oh, absolutely.
21:51Do you want to watch something tonight?
21:52If you are up to it, absolutely.
21:53Yes.
21:54I want to watch something and I want to have cereal.
21:55Are we happy to see mommy?
21:56Yes.

22:04I can't wait to show you the stuffed puffin I was sleeping with.
22:07Oh, absolutely.

22:13Yes.
22:14I want to watch something and I want to have cereal.
