Residents in northern Philippines evacuate ahead of typhoon landfall
The Philippines evacuated over 100,000 residents across its eastern and northern regions as Uwan intensified on Sunday, November 9, into a super typhoon, unleashing torrential rains, destructive winds, and storm surges. At Santiago City in the northern province of Isabela, over a hundred residents evacuated early to one of the city’s designated evacuation shelters, as the typhoon is expected to bring devastating winds and rains Sunday night.
