Filipinos take shelter in a church before Super Typhoon Uwan makes landfall
People take shelter at a church in Sorsogon province, as authorities begin to evacuate people ahead of Super Typhoon Uwan’s (International name Fung-wong) landfall. As of 11 a.m. (0300 GMT), the typhoon was moving westward toward the Philippines' main island of Luzon, with wind speeds of 140 kilometers per hour and gusts of 170 kph.
