00:00Do you remember when we were told this was a dangerous conspiracy theory?
00:05I look at London where you have a terrible mayor, terrible, terrible mayor,
00:09and it's been so changed.
00:12Now they want to go to Sharia law.
00:15Well, step forward.
00:17Good morning, Britain host Adil Ray.
00:19He posted this on social media yesterday.
00:22Some say Mamdani, who's the new mayor of New York, may implement Sharia law.
00:27He might.
00:28Despite the heart of Sharia is social justice, welfare, fairness, charity and cohesion,
00:33most Muslim countries operate a hybrid of Sharia and civil law,
00:37are slowly reforming and abandoning unethical practices.
00:40Despite the West's portrayal, gosh, you know what?
00:44Adil Ray's changed his tune, hasn't he?
00:46Remember now, there's always a tweet.
00:48There's always a tweet.
00:49Here it is.
00:50He says, the EDL are about as insignificant as those Muslims who call for Sharia law.
00:54I have never heard of any of them.
00:58Well, maybe Adil needs to look a bit harder, because there was actually a group called Sharia for UK
01:03and Islam for UK, and it was one of many front organisations used by the radical Islamist network Alma Jeroon,
01:10and that was in the United Kingdom.
01:12The group was led by the extremist preacher Anjum Chowdhury,
01:15and advocated for the implementation of Sharia law right across the UK.
01:20They actually called for various things.
01:21One, capital punishment.
01:23They explicitly called for the death penalty for offences such as leaving Islam and also adultery.
01:28By the way, they wanted to kill you by stoning, in case you're wondering.
01:31Physical punishments.
01:33They advocated for severe physical punishments, such as flogging or lashing for offences like drinking alcohol.
01:39They also supported punishments like chopping people's limbs off for theft.
01:43Segregation of the sexes.
01:44You see, tonight we've got a wonderfully mixed audience.
01:46Not under the Sharia, though, of course.
01:49Establish a caliphate as well, so that's nice just to round it off.
01:52And actually, polling data from 2024 revealed that 32% of British Muslims favour the implementation of Sharia law in the UK.
02:01Well, Adil Ray then doubled down.
02:03He said, I'm not actually suggesting that Mamdani would implement Sharia law,
02:07but many of the issues he campaigned for are also some of the positive values of Sharia that Muslims try to live by.
02:13OK, some countries with Sharia law then.
02:17So we've got Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
02:22Do we think that Adil might want to leave his comfortable London TV studio to go to live in any of those countries?
02:29I'm not really sure he will.
02:30Another country, of course, is Nigeria.
02:32Twelve northern states have just started implementing Sharia law.
02:36What else is happening in Nigeria, Adil?
02:38Oh, yeah, there are reports of Christians being slaughtered en masse.
02:41Now, Adil Ray might claim that true Sharia has never actually been tried.
02:46You know, like what communists say about their ideology.
02:48Well, given the amount of child rape, cousin marriage, female genital mutilation, stonings,
02:52beheadings, chopping off of limbs, persecution of gay people and terrorism in those countries,
02:58I think where it has been tried, I think we might swerve it over here.
03:02Thanks, Adil.
03:03But he's a presenter on ITV's Good Morning Britain.
03:06The same programme...
03:08Well, this happened to Piers Morgan, didn't it?
03:09...continue to trash her.
03:12OK, I'm done with this.
03:13No, no, no.
03:13Sorry, no.
03:14Do you know what?
03:15That's pathetic.
03:15You can trash her, mate, but not my own stuff.
03:16No, no, no, no.
03:17See you later.
03:17I'm being...
03:18Sorry, can't do this.
03:19This is absolutely diabolical behaviour.
03:23Well, he left because he offended Meghan Markle.
03:27And reportedly, ITV were worried about markets and advertising implications,
03:32commercial implications, because of what he said.
03:34But it seems that Adil Ray can try and promote Sharia law, and he just keeps his job.
03:39No commercial pressure there.
03:41No pushback.
03:41No lefties kicking off.
03:43No crisis meetings with ITV execs.
03:45What a strange, strange country we live in.
