00:00It's been almost a year since Bashar al-Assad's regime was toppled, but life in Syria is still a daily struggle.
00:08The economy is in tatters with 90% of the country living in poverty.
00:13And while it's rebuilding diplomatic ties, people are still waiting for money to rebuild homes and neighborhoods destroyed by almost 14 years of war.
00:22For now, many still live in camps.
00:26It's been a year since the regime fell.
00:30I wish they could remove the old destroyed houses and build towers.
00:35I wish international companies could come and help fix our roads, fix our electricity and water issues.
00:43I still don't have water here. I'm going to live here without having water.
00:52With the little money they do have, people are now trying to rebuild what they can.
00:57But they say it's much too expensive in the current economic climate.
01:02I left the camp at the beginning of the conflict and I'm still trying to return because the house is going to cost me 150 million liras to fix.
01:15The tiles, the wood, everything will cost me.
01:19This is worse than if the house was left as a skeleton, because now we have to remove all the destroyed bits and then rebuild.
01:28Experts say it will cost as much as 400 billion dollars to rebuild the country.
01:34May God help the new government that took over.
01:39They inherited an empty country.
01:42The banks are empty.
01:44The infrastructure was robbed.
01:46The homes were robbed.
01:50Syria has agreed some six billion dollars in investment with Saudi Arabia.
01:55But the country needs much more.
01:57And it needs it soon.
01:58Now let's take a look at this video.
02:16You can see your CEO's with Saudi Arabia.
02:21Consider real money.
02:23Namaste.
