00:38But CBS tells Colbert the decision is based on financial reasons.

01:18showcasing how influential he is in the political commentary landscape and how popular he is with younger audiences.

01:24Colbert is also an industry leader, often outranking The Daily Show in ratings, but scoring fewer points on social media,

01:31pulling a stronger audience in traditional media, which is currently on the decline.

01:35While Colbert's show fades, Stewart's thrives.
