00:00Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Nealon's death has been ruled a suicide.

00:04The result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound following a police chase that ended in Frisco, Texas.

00:10Police say the incident happened late Wednesday night.

00:13Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety were pursuing a vehicle that entered the city of Frisco.

00:18After losing sight of the vehicle, troopers found it crashed along southbound Dallas Parkway.

00:24The driver, identified as 24-year-old Marshawn Nealon, fled on foot.

00:28Officers set up a perimeter with canine and drone units and later learned he'd expressed suicidal thoughts.

00:34Just after 1.30 a.m., Nealon was found dead from what police describe as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

00:40Here's the police dispatch audio from that night.

00:44We're talking to the girlfriend. She's trying to call his agent, but we're trying to get her to call him first.

00:49But she's saying he is armed and has a history of mental illness, and her quote was, he will end it all.

00:58Good copy. He probably ran back to the car to get the gun.

01:05If she calls him, we'll let you know.

01:10All right, y'all do me a favor. Everybody stay with the buddy. Don't go looking alone. This guy is armed.

01:17President, they just received a text from him, a group text from him saying goodbye.

01:24They're concerned for his welfare.

01:26They do not have a key to the apartment.

01:28David says, no, I copy.

01:33I advise on this call.

01:34We were just out there.

01:35There's nobody at the apartment.

01:37All the contact from my phone.

01:39We have a lieutenant calling in from Plano, advising that the NFL is calling Plano.

01:43PD, and the subject is texting his family goodbye.

01:47DPS-111, there's a port-a-potty on the south side of that building.

01:56DPS-40, we got eyes on it.

02:02That's pretty much right exactly where 118 drew the circle.

02:06Do y'all see a heat from that?

02:09Yeah, 111.

02:10We got good eyes on it.

02:11It looks like the door's open.

02:14Red liquid coming out from it.

02:16We just want to go ahead and work this safely before we have any officers approach.

02:21So let's just get in a red team and kind of go through this safely and tactically.

02:27I believe we got eyes on a drone right there.

02:31Y'all got eyes on the target inside that port-a-potty.

02:35We're pushing the drone there now.

02:37We got a good copy.

02:40Just on our last orbit, we didn't see any movement.

02:43Still got that heat signature.

02:45Looks like it's curled up at the bottom of that port-a-potty.

02:50With the stream of blood coming from the port-a-potty.

02:55Yeah, that's a 10-4.

02:57He's going to be laying on his side, facing inward, and quite a bit of blood coming out.
