00:00Previously on Sister Wives, we're just
00:03going to be talking about guys.
00:05I feel like dating apps are stupid.
00:07Either that or most of the men on them are stupid.
00:09OK, well, look, that does not say kiss the cook.
00:12It does not say kiss the cook.
00:14That is so naughty.
00:16You have to like him.
00:17Hey.
00:18Tell me to like him.
00:20Timber!
00:21Timber!
00:23Ugh, Peyton just moved to North Carolina this morning,
00:26just barely.
00:28So if we can't move closer to you guys,
00:29we're going to bring you guys out to us.
00:31Janelle's like, and I have all the grandkids
00:33looking with you, blah, blah, blah.
00:34And I was like, you need to shut up right now.
00:38That was the moment where I felt like slapping her.
00:40How could she say that?
00:41She gets all the grandkids now.
00:44Why all of this?
00:46Why move?
00:46Yeah, why move?
00:47We're good.
00:47We're good.
00:48I mean, we love this house.
00:50Plural marriage is so hard.
00:52We're like faking through it.
00:55I'm so happy.
00:56I was a believer, and I am just trying
01:00to shake off the big family, that big picture
01:04that I had for 35 years.
01:26Just the two of you today?
01:41Yeah.
01:42Yeah.
01:43Is back here all right?
01:44Yeah, this is great.
01:46It's Christmas time, and Jen and I are going out for brunch.
01:49So did you need to check that text from Logan before we get going?
01:52Oh, I just, well, when we get home,
01:54I need to get the recipe to him.
01:56He was asking for the candy cane recipe.
02:00He wants to make it this year.
02:02I think that's so cute.
02:03So when our kids were little, and I started making the candy
02:07canes for Christmas, I would let them come in to my kitchen,
02:10and they'd all make their own candy cane, you know?
02:12It was just kind of a fun tradition we do on Christmas Eve.
02:16So this year, when Logan reached out and asked for the recipe,
02:19I thought it was really sweet.
02:21Tell me more about what's happening with the family.
02:23Like, I feel like you've talked to Janelle some, but...
02:26Yeah, Janelle and I have talked a little bit here and there,
02:29mostly just about, like, the situation with the property,
02:33you know, because that's still not...
02:35Is it that good?
02:40If Cody would just communicate,
02:42that's all I want is for him to communicate.
02:45At this point, Coyote Pass has not changed.
02:51Nothing's different.
02:52Cody's name is still on all four of the pieces of property.
02:56Mine is still on one of the pieces of property.
02:59That I co-own with Cody and Janelle.
03:02There shouldn't be any reason why we're still not
03:08having this property divided into, you know,
03:11with all four of us as equal owners.
03:14That could have happened a long time ago.
03:17When Cody and Christine made that agreement,
03:20that I guess she would get the house,
03:22and she would sign, like, the proceeds of the house
03:26when she sold it, and then she would sign the property to him.
03:29Just to him? Just to him and Robin?
03:32That's what happened.
03:33She's off the property, and now it's just him and Robin.
03:36So they have more.
03:38When Christine and Cody,
03:40I assume it was just the two of them, I don't know,
03:42made the agreement, you know, like,
03:44she would get all the proceeds of her house,
03:47and then she would turn over her portion of Coyote Pass.
03:51Like, it just seems like it should have been a conversation,
03:54and it was never even a conversation.
03:56How much longer are we going to do this?
03:59Like, for real.
04:00How much longer until you just realize that he's an ass?
04:03And you can't be nice.
04:05I mean, I realize that part.
04:06I want to know how much longer.
04:08I'm thinking, like, six weeks.
04:11I'm going to give it six weeks,
04:12because if this thing is happening with this buyer,
04:14this potential buyer, if it's not in contract in six weeks...
04:18Mm-hmm.
04:19...then you stick your attorney on him?
04:20Yeah.
04:22Yeah.
04:23It's time for you to end the nice girl era.
04:25Like, it's not benefiting you.
04:27It's only benefiting him.
04:29Yeah, it is.
04:30Yeah, it is.
04:31So then why are you doing it?
04:32It's, like, self-inflicted pain at this point.
04:38Because I don't want to be a bitch.
04:41You know what?
04:42Join me on the dark side.
04:46I just feel like it's important for you to have bitch lessons
04:49so that you can say the things that sometimes maybe you think,
04:54but then you're like, oh, that shouldn't come out of my mouth.
04:57And it should.
04:57It should come out of your mouth.
04:59Repeat after me.
04:59You do not control me.
05:02You do not control me.
05:05Less smile.
05:06Oh, you don't control me.
05:07Ooh, I like that.
05:08That was actually really bitchy.
05:10Bitch.
05:11Ooh.
05:11Ooh, that's good.
05:12Okay.
05:13Get your together.
05:15Get your together.
05:16Ooh.
05:17I like that one.
05:17Yes.
05:18Comb your hair.
05:20Comb your hair, Cody.
05:23That one felt like it came deep from your soul.
05:25I'm very proud of you.
05:27Bitch, where's my money?
05:29Bitch, where's my money?
05:35There you go.
05:36How's that?
05:36Actually, it kind of gave me anxiety.
05:38Oh, it gave me anxiety saying it.
05:39It took it a little personally.
05:40It took it a little seriously.
05:41Yeah.
05:42It took it a little seriously.
05:42It took me crazy, it took me crazy.
05:43I saw that, but it made me crazy.
05:45And that was going to go to my house.
05:46It was like that, yeah, it didn't take my life.
05:46It took me crazy, but it was fun.
05:47It's okay.
05:47Yeah.
05:48It took me crazy, yeah.
05:48It was fun making a family.
05:48It was fun.
05:49We are having sort of a pre-holiday gathering.
05:55Tony McKelty have come up from Charlotte.
05:57Savannah's here.
05:58Peyton just arrived.
05:59David and Christine truly are coming.
06:02Our holidays together are always really fun.
06:04Like, you just never know what's gonna come up or who's gonna say what.
06:08There's always something.
06:09There's always something going on when everybody's together.
06:12That's the tree that they got from the property yesterday.
06:15They cut that from their property.
06:16It's cool, huh?
06:17Well, is that a real cannonball?
06:18Yes, that's a real cannonball.
06:19No, it's not.
06:20Yes, it is.
06:21Well, Caleb had told me, like, oh, my gosh, several visits ago that they have a cannonball.
06:26They have a cannonball from, like, the Civil War.
06:27It's super cool.
06:28We're gonna ask them.
06:29But they'll lie to me anyways.
06:30Five dollars.
06:31Five dollar bet.
06:32You think so?
06:36Stop it.
06:37I still don't know if I believe you.
06:39It's a cannonball.
06:40No.
06:41It's from the Civil War.
06:42Caleb told me.
06:43No, I think they were feeding you full of it.
06:45It's Caleb.
06:46He doesn't do that.
06:47He does.
06:48Hello.
06:49Go ahead and ask.
06:50Ask Caleb.
06:51Right now.
06:52Ask.
06:53Ask what?
06:54I know you're gonna lie to me, but that's not a cannonball, is it, out there?
06:56It is.
06:57Ha!
06:58Sup, sucker!
06:59I don't believe you died.
07:00It's a real cannonball.
07:01It's a real cannonball.
07:02Is it really a cannonball?
07:03Is it really a cannonball?
07:04Is it really a cannonball?
07:05Is it really a cannonball?
07:06No.
07:07No, it's not.
07:08Oh, is it?
07:09I've always thought it was.
07:10What?
07:11I mean, it's always been in the front yard, so I just figured it came with the house, or
07:15I don't know.
07:16You told me it was a cannonball.
07:17You lied to me.
07:18No, I didn't.
07:19No, it's not.
07:20Caleb told me it was a cannonball, so now I'm a liar.
07:23You lied to me.
07:24It is not a cannonball.
07:25You lied to me.
07:26It's a molemna mine, okay?
07:28There's a mine way up in the Rockies, so what they do is they put it into a crusher,
07:33and they put these big balls and drop them in there, and it just crushes it down as
07:38it goes through.
07:39I'm literally not listening to what you're saying.
07:40And it goes to another one that's a smaller one that crushes them down further.
07:43You crushed my dreams.
07:44I'm sorry.
07:45That's a stupid story.
07:46It's just something they use in a mine to do?
07:48That's dumb.
07:49I'm just going to say it's a cannonball.
07:53For years and years and years, our holidays, it was my kids and Janelle's kids.
07:57Everybody, the whole big family.
07:59And when I left, we certainly missed that.
08:02Okay, look at me, cheese.
08:04Nice.
08:05Okay, cheese.
08:06Traditions are important, and I think that's what helps you stay grounded
08:11and feel like life has some sort of cohesion.
08:13Like, you're going to always have your traditions no matter how much life changes.
08:19Janelle, what you really need is to be on Farmers Only and find a guy.
08:26Janelle, he was talking about this this morning.
08:28No.
08:29He was talking about that this morning.
08:30We can find you a nice guy with a six pack.
08:34David just can't handle that.
08:35I'm just not going to go date because I'm like, dude, I'm no, no, no, yeah.
08:40I think maybe Cody was a lot of work, so I think a relationship must be really hard.
08:44I know.
08:45That's because the relationship where you were in was a lot more dramatic and hard,
08:49and he can take care of himself completely.
08:53Yeah.
08:54We were married to a guy that was a lot of work.
08:56He just was, you know, he had a lot of things that he liked and a lot of specifics,
08:59like certain dietary restrictions, his, like, grooming and things like that.
09:03It was just, it was a lot.
09:05There's guys that are super, super simple.
09:07Like, Caleb is simple.
09:08He's easy.
09:09Mitch is easy.
09:10I mean, there's some easy guys out there, you know?
09:13Easy going.
09:14Yeah.
09:15Or easy.
09:17Let's not put the wrong thing out there, shall we?
09:20Janelle's not interested in the easy guys, though.
09:22She likes easy going, but not easy.
09:24There's a big difference between that.
09:27So don't lump us in with Cody.
09:29It's not a lot of work.
09:30We're not Cody.
09:31It's not a lot of work.
09:32It's lovely.
09:33Tony's like, no, no.
09:34No.
09:35No, it's not.
09:36Farmers only, we can get you.
09:37No, I'm not advertising.
09:38Nope, not advertising.
09:40Janelle really likes, um, is it Javier Bardem?
09:44She's also really into Sam Elliott.
09:47His voice melts her like butter.
09:50Yep.
09:51You don't want to talk about it?
09:52No, like, I mean, like, I mean, yeah.
09:53I guess, I mean, like, I've always thought they were handsome,
09:56and I ended up with Cody Brown.
09:57So, you know, I think it's just about who you click with.
10:01David was on Farmers Only, but I was not.
10:03Ah.
10:04I never went on there.
10:05You were?
10:06It was on everything.
10:10So, we've sold our house.
10:21We've moved out.
10:22We're in our new home.
10:23We're trying to move in.
10:25We've got, we're just kind of in boxes everywhere around us.
10:28Where's your drums at?
10:29In the garage.
10:30The other garage?
10:31Yeah.
10:32We do have a lot of stuff.
10:34Cody had enough stuff in each house to live in that house,
10:38right?
10:39When he had his, all of his wives.
10:41As they left, they gave him his stuff back.
10:44So, then all of a sudden, he's got multiples of shoes,
10:47too much clothes.
10:48It's all, you know, gathered here in his garage.
10:52So, there was a while when Cody would bring around, like,
10:54this duffel bag with all of his stuff in it.
10:56Finally, he got the brilliant idea of, instead of bringing stuff
10:59to each house and moving in and moving out every single time,
11:01just have duplicate stuff.
11:03He would often run in and, and look for a particular pair of shoes
11:07or a particular shirt that he wanted to wear that day.
11:10But that was, I mean, that was a long time ago.
11:13I haven't, I haven't had his stuff at, at my house for many, many, many years.
11:19And prior to me leaving, he had kind of gradually been taking his stuff
11:24out of my house and, you know, over to Robbins or wherever.
11:28What, aren't these in Saul's room?
11:32I don't know why I'm saving them, grandkids or maybe...
11:34I'm gonna put them with my grandkids stuff.
11:36Well, let's do that. I'm gonna put them...
11:38Have you got grand...
11:39What's funny? Topics of conversation.
11:42Oh, grandkids stuff. Hey, no pressure on you.
11:45We have other children.
11:46I know. I know.
11:48So, what's up, Aurora?
11:50But, speaking of no pressure or pressure, what's going on?
11:56What's happening?
11:58Um, you know the guy that I've been dating for a while?
12:01Yeah.
12:02Brody's been around a little bit.
12:04Yeah.
12:05Yeah.
12:06Um, he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes.
12:10It's basically the butt-pack of dawn.
12:22And we're on our way to New York City!
12:25New York City are going.
12:26Oh my gosh.
12:27Maybe there's single men that I might run into on the street.
12:31Miracles happen at Christmas.
12:33I'm the guy that's supposed to say, have you got any sense?
12:36Because I know what can happen if it goes wrong.
12:47So, I need to go to New York City.
12:49Um, I've got some business I need to take care of there.
12:52And I'm like, Jen, you need to come with me.
12:55It's basically the butt-crack of dawn.
12:57Uh-huh.
12:58And we're on our way to New York City!
13:01New York City.
13:02Oh my gosh.
13:03We're going.
13:04There's a lot of people.
13:05Maybe there's single men that I might run into on the street.
13:10Miracles happen at Christmas.
13:12Uh-huh.
13:13It's gonna be fun.
13:14It's gonna be a blast.
13:15It's gonna be a party.
13:16I think that there's parts of me that I'm discovering,
13:22but maybe I didn't know that I was hiding about myself.
13:25But I also think there's things that I'm learning and discovering as new.
13:30You know?
13:31So, I think definitely both are true.
13:33There's parts of me that I have forgotten who I am.
13:36And then there's parts of me that are like,
13:38okay, this is a fun new experience.
13:40I like this.
13:41Let's do this too.
13:46All right, let's go.
13:50We're gonna decorate the tree?
13:52We're decorating a Christmas tree.
13:54So, the tree that they cut down, we're gonna decorate it today.
13:57But they're decorating it outside rather than decorating it inside.
14:00And why not?
14:01Axel, get out of here.
14:02We're gonna put you on.
14:03Wow.
14:04Yeah, everything has so dramatically changed over the last couple of years.
14:07Like, really dramatically.
14:09I live in a completely different place.
14:11Christina's married again to another person.
14:14That looks amazing.
14:19Even more reason, I think, probably just kind of try to observe as many traditions as possible.
14:24To kind of feel like it's cohesive.
14:26Three.
14:27McComphie, come here.
14:28Two.
14:29You're a sister.
14:30McComphie!
14:31Oh!
14:32Party mouth.
14:33We lived in Flagstaff during COVID.
14:36Janelle and I became friends.
14:37Like, we were fine before that, but we became friends.
14:40And we realized we had something special that was more important than Cody's rules.
14:45Caleb told me to hang up decorations!
14:47Blame Caleb!
14:48Oh, sure!
14:49Yes, blame the guy that didn't knock it over!
14:51Don't touch it!
14:52Don't breathe on it!
14:53Don't look at it!
14:54She's a lot of fun to be with.
14:55And then we choose.
14:56So I guess now, too, we've chosen to be friends.
14:59And we've chosen to still be sister wives.
15:01I mean, when I told Dave at our second date, I was like, I have a sister wife.
15:06Janelle's going to be part of my life for the rest of my life.
15:08And so, she comes with me, you know?
15:11That was perfect, everybody!
15:12Job well done!
15:13Yay!
15:14Merry Christmas, everyone!
15:16Um, you know the guy that I've been dating for a while?
15:29Brody?
15:30Who's been around a little bit?
15:31Yeah.
15:32Yeah.
15:33Um, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said yes.
15:41So he, like, asked you?
15:42Yes.
15:43Like, it was like an official ask?
15:44He said, do you want to go steady, or do you want to be my girlfriend?
15:46He said, Aurora, will you be my girlfriend?
15:49Oh, wow.
15:51So, Aurora is 22.
15:54She has dated some in the past, had a relationship, a little bit of a relationship in high school.
16:01But she's never really had, like, a super serious relationship.
16:04Is it stressing you out, Mom?
16:06No.
16:07Yeah?
16:08No.
16:09What do you guys think?
16:10What are you thinking?
16:11Well, I met him a few times.
16:13Mm-hmm.
16:14We didn't hang out much, but talked a little bit.
16:16Seems really like a good guy.
16:18Does he treat you really, really nicely?
16:20He does.
16:21He treats me very well.
16:22Does he give you that look that I...
16:23Never mind.
16:24That's not a fair comparison.
16:28No, I want to know.
16:29Yeah, does he look at you with adoration?
16:31I think so.
16:32Does he look at you like you've seen me look at your mother?
16:37He does?
16:38One of our first dates, we had, like, a moment, and he was staring at me, like, with that look so intently that I thought he was going to propose.
16:45And I was like, what is happening right now? And he was just giving me that look of adoration.
16:50So I was like, holy crap, this is fast. And it was just...
16:54I just want to make sure you take enough time to really, truly get to know each other.
16:58We've both been having conversations about, like, praying about it, about, like, if this is what God wants for the both of us.
17:05Like the girlfriend-boyfriend thing at this point, right?
17:07Yes.
17:08Okay.
17:09But then also long-term stuff, too.
17:11So you're saying he's on a candidate's list?
17:14So far, it's like there's checkpoints, I feel like. And at this point, looking forward, he's met all these checkpoints, and we're still figuring it out.
17:24Okay.
17:25Cool. Well, that's exciting. Congratulations. You got a boyfriend.
17:29Well, thank you.
17:30Give me a hug. Give me a hug.
17:32You got a boyfriend.
17:34He didn't ask me first. I'm just kidding.
17:37It's a little different.
17:38Can I be your daughter's boyfriend?
17:40I don't know if you have to ask that.
17:42No, I'm just...
17:43Like, in our church and in our culture, it was like a guy would ask a dad if he could date his daughter.
17:51And Brody is absolutely not familiar with our culture.
17:56So while that might be where we're coming from, that's not something that they would be tracking.
18:01Aurora has told me that she's not interested in plural marriage.
18:04And that's okay. That's all right.
18:06She's found her Christian faith, and she's very happy in it.
18:10I'm excited for you. That's really fun.
18:12Congratulations, Aurora.
18:13That's very fun.
18:14That's right.
18:15Aurora very specifically said, hey, you're my dad. I want you to protect me in these dating situations.
18:23I'm the guy that's supposed to look at him and say, you know, like, my daughter's in love with you, but have you got any sense?
18:31Robin's gone through a divorce, and I've gone through three.
18:35We're probably going to be pretty discriminating, because I know what can happen if it goes wrong.
18:42Joey's just eating it, so.
18:48My kids are like, aren't we going to be doing the candy canes like Mary did?
18:52And I'm like, no.
18:54Or are we going to be doing the pajamas like Mary did?
18:56And I'm like, no.
18:57The bread that Robin used to make, I'm like, uh, no.
19:00Yeah, Brody's coming over.
19:02Here's the thing, I think Robin's more discriminating than I am.
19:05So, are you nervous?
19:06Well, yeah.
19:08When's it going to be here?
19:09How's it going to go?
19:12Wow, we have a snowman.
19:27Hi, everyone.
19:29Looks like there's an angel.
19:31I always like the magic of decorating cookies.
19:34I love it all.
19:36These must be Maddie approved.
19:38No artificial flavors.
19:40No artificial dyes.
19:41You guys get to do that.
19:42Like, now that you live here, you might become those people.
19:44Uh-huh.
19:45I mean, when my kids got sick, I'm just saying, the cough syrup that I gave them might have
19:50been onions and honey.
19:51I'm just saying.
19:52Hey, listen, we didn't have any insurance when you guys were little, so we always did
19:56all the home remedies we could.
19:58You know, when we were raising the kids, we, A, didn't have a lot of money, and B, you know,
20:03I had health insurance sometimes through my work, and I could insure my kids, and sometimes
20:07I didn't.
20:08And Cody could only insure Mary and Mary's child, like, because that was who he was legally
20:13married to.
20:14And the government in Utah was very, very harsh.
20:20They had specific rules put in place that if you were a plural family applying, it was
20:26almost impossible to get health insurance.
20:28You know, they had some sort of idea that somehow it was being abused or whatever, but I didn't
20:33have health insurance for, like, two months or something.
20:35And Madison, she had a ruptured appendix.
20:39I must have paid payments on that for freaking forever.
20:44Oh, my gosh.
20:45That's amazing.
20:47It looks delicious.
20:49It's gonna be a mess.
20:50It's gonna be chaos.
20:51I'm just here for the fun.
20:53Joey's just eating it, so.
20:54Frosting and the cookie.
20:55Here, we have little, tiny balls.
21:00I love little balls.
21:02I can tell just by little connection.
21:04I actually think this is really fun.
21:10Like, I always wanted this tradition, but we never really did it.
21:13And next year we'll have...
21:14I feel like you guys did do it.
21:16We did.
21:17Robin said that, like, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, she started doing a cookie decorating that day.
21:22Yeah.
21:23As we started to come all together as a family, everybody brought their own traditions, right?
21:27So the day after Thanksgiving, Saturday after Thanksgiving, Robin would do cookies, decorate cookies, and we'd watch a movie.
21:35And that would be kind of like kicking off the Christmas season.
21:38So I would always decorate for Christmas on Thanksgiving weekend.
21:44The pajamas, that was something Mary was a big deal in Mary's family, and she kind of started.
21:49She gave the kids all pajamas on Christmas Eve.
21:51She did for years.
21:52Sewed them all.
21:53Yes!
21:54Merry Christmas!
21:56I continued the tradition of giving the kids pajamas on Christmas Eve.
22:01A lot of times in plural families, the guys would visit from house to house to house on Christmas Day.
22:06And we did decide we weren't interested in that, that we all wanted to get together for Christmas.
22:11So I think our plural family and everybody getting together all together every single Christmas, every single Thanksgiving,
22:17we were just going to celebrate being a family.
22:19That is very different from a lot of plural families that I've seen.
22:22Evie, you set out carrots and cookies on Christmas Eve, right?
22:26Why do you do that?
22:27Who are they for?
22:28Who's the cookies for?
22:30Who are the carrots for?
22:32Reindeer.
22:33Good job.
22:34What?
22:35So funny, after I left, the first Christmas that we had, my kids were like,
22:41wait, aren't we going to be doing the candy canes like Mary did?
22:44And I'm like, no.
22:46Are we going to be doing the pajamas like Mary did?
22:48And I'm like, no.
22:50The bread that Robin used to make, I'm like, uh, no.
22:53But it's like I realized that traditions are important to my kids.
22:56So they were like, next year we need to do those traditions.
22:59It's important to everybody.
23:17Yeah, Brody's coming over, man, and it's kind of exciting.
23:19Robin, here's the thing.
23:20I think Robin's more discriminating than I am.
23:22I want to be buddies, and that's how I'm going to get to know him.
23:25And he's going to tell me stories, and I'll figure out things that way.
23:28She's going to just look at him tapping her foot.
23:31So are you nervous?
23:33Well, yeah.
23:34But that's only because, like, butterflies.
23:36Aurora gets really excited anytime Brody's going to be around,
23:40anytime she's going to go out with him, or anytime he's going to be around,
23:43which is good.
23:44You know, that's a good sign.
23:46What's up?
23:47It'll be fun telling stories.
23:48What's this?
23:49What?
23:50Just seeing if you're that nervous.
23:53She gets a little amped up for these kinds of experiences.
23:58And so, yeah, she's like, when's it going to be here?
24:02How's it going to go?
24:04Are you nervous, Aurora?
24:07Well, should I be?
24:10Why are you asking me that?
24:12Why are you asking me if I'm nervous?
24:13Leave me alone.
24:14I get nervous when I come home from a trip.
24:17Oh.
24:18Just because it's been a while?
24:21I guess.
24:22You're funny.
24:23Every chance we talk about her romance, you'll talk about ours.
24:28Because I'm relating.
24:30Did I see a light?
24:32I think I saw a light.
24:34I think I saw a headlight.
24:35Yeah, this is pretty big because I've never had any of my kids,
24:39like, you know, person that they're dating come over and hang out
24:43for, like, decorate the tree.
24:45This is kind of a bigger deal.
24:46Oh, hello.
24:47Oh.
24:48There he is.
24:49You going to go get the door?
24:50Yes.
24:51She's running.
24:52She's running.
24:53She's running.
24:54She's running.
24:55She's running.
24:56She's running.
24:57She's running.
24:58She's running.
24:59She's running.
25:00She's running.
25:01Anybody else can say anything they want and make up any story that they want,
25:13she was my only support system.
25:16So you would be a miss if you didn't protect her from yourself, right?
25:22Yeah.
25:23Yeah.
25:24When you're just dating, you're kissing another man's wife.
25:28She's huge.
25:29I don't know.
25:31I don't know why.
25:33I'melle notwendight.
25:34She's running.
25:35designing And she's running in the morning adaption.
25:37She's running.
25:38She's running.
25:39She's running.
25:40She's running.
25:41So we're in New York City, we are exploring,
25:43we are at a Christmas market.
25:45It is so much fun, we're having a blast.
25:47All the Christmas stuff, what?
25:50Everything's decorated, it's just, it's beautiful.
25:53It's very much like, it gets you into the spirit
25:56for Christmas.
25:59Oh, eight seconds, hurry, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
26:02Go, go, go, go, go.
26:03It's really just unfortunate
26:05that there is so much rain and snow
26:07because I really, really, really wanted to go ice skating.
26:11This is so cute.
26:15We have stumbled across the cutest little.
26:19Best ever.
26:20I don't even know what this is.
26:21It's this cool experience, like all the fun things
26:24in winter wonderlandville.
26:26Oh, here, hold on to this.
26:29Okay, hold on.
26:30I think I'm just grabbing your boob.
26:31You're not grabbing my boob.
26:33It's definitely not my boob.
26:35Okay, open your eyes.
26:38This is perfect.
26:39Isn't it cool?
26:40We came across a very good alternative for ice skating.
26:47I mean, really, this is just this big ball pit
26:51with white balls.
26:56Coralescent, maybe, perhaps.
26:58I'm just like, there's a whole bunch of balls.
27:00Let's do it.
27:01So when I first, like, met Mary, I didn't realize that she hadn't been anywhere.
27:18I was more well-traveled than you at that point.
27:20Yeah, that's true.
27:21And at one point, she was, like, dealing with a lot.
27:24And I'm like, you just need to get away.
27:25You just need to go do something for you, just for you.
27:27Just go do something.
27:29And I'm like, go to Lake Havasu.
27:31Just go.
27:32We were both living in Las Vegas at the time.
27:34Yeah.
27:36And she was like, I don't travel by myself.
27:39And I'm like, I'm sorry, you what?
27:41Yes, you do.
27:41Yes, go.
27:42Just go do it for you.
27:43And she's like, no.
27:45It was the very first time that I had traveled anywhere by myself.
27:49I never thought that was okay.
27:52I don't know if it's religious culture or family culture, honestly.
27:56I only stayed one night.
27:58I was trying to get you to stay for, like, three or four nights.
28:00I know.
28:01And I'm like, I couldn't do it.
28:02Like, one night, and then I just had to go home.
28:05Like, it was very uncomfortable.
28:07I don't remember the whole Lake Havasu trip.
28:11But there was many trips, or at least what I understood was many trips,
28:15where she just disappeared and we didn't know where she was.
28:17I mean, of course Cody didn't know about it because he wasn't around me.
28:22to know what I was doing in my life.
28:24That's just not what our relationship was at that time.
28:28No, I started vacationing with my kids separate without Cody in Flagstaff.
28:35I was like, we're just going to do our own thing.
28:37And I loved it.
28:38Cody doesn't want to ever travel anywhere.
28:40Like, I get in an RV and go.
28:42And, like, he didn't ever want to do that.
28:44Like, that was not his jam.
28:45Like, he likes his creature comforts.
28:46Anybody else can say anything they want and make up any story that they want.
28:55But she was my only support system.
28:58You know, it really seemed to me that Jen was Mary's only support system, too.
29:02Starting in Las Vegas.
29:04I mean, I'd retreated from my relationship with Mary a long time before that.
29:07And, I mean, everyone needs support.
29:09So I'm just really glad that she had Jen.
29:11Has Jen.
29:13Dr. Keller.
29:14James.
29:15It's really pretty.
29:16It's really, really, really pretty.
29:18I wanted you to be empowered.
29:20Like, you get to be you.
29:21Yeah.
29:22And anyone who doesn't like it.
29:25So whenever I travel, I change the location on the dating app just to check out the guys
29:31that are in the city that I'm traveling to.
29:33I totally expected New York to have a different vibe.
29:39I just expect a little bit more up-level than I see on the guys at the dating site in Utah.
29:44But that wasn't the case.
29:46I hope that Mary's dating.
29:48I hope she's having a really good time.
29:50I hope she is, like, having a blast with dating.
29:55She's running.
29:56She's running.
29:57She's running.
29:58She's running.
29:59She's running.
30:00So we are going to decorate a tree upstairs.
30:01We've already done our tree downstairs.
30:02I want to decorate one for the upstairs game room.
30:03And Brody's going to come over and decorate with us.
30:18Hi, handsome.
30:19Hey, Brody.
30:20How's it going?
30:21Hey.
30:22Good.
30:23How are you doing?
30:24Good.
30:25Kids are excited to see you.
30:27Aurora's not, though.
30:28Whoa!
30:29What?
30:30I said I was nervous.
30:32I'm just messing.
30:33I'm just totally messing.
30:34Brody's a cowboy.
30:35Like, he's a legit cowboy.
30:37He has a ranch.
30:38He actually has a small ranch that he's building right now.
30:41He wears cowboy boots.
30:43He rides horses.
30:44He listens to country-western music.
30:46He even plays a guitar.
30:48The cowboy cliche is like the cliche of the drummer in a rock and roll band.
30:54It's like, can I trust my daughter with a cowboy?
30:57Well, I think I can trust my daughter with this cowboy.
31:00Tiny?
31:01Is it tiny?
31:02Oh, that's a little.
31:03It's teeny tiny, Mom.
31:04I know.
31:05Oh, I was thinking it was a different tree.
31:07It's like this little four and a half, five or whatever foot tree.
31:13And I'm like, oh, oops, wrong tree.
31:16It came on.
31:17This is going to work.
31:18This is hilarious.
31:19It looks good enough.
31:20I thought this was a bigger tree.
31:22Well, here's the thing.
31:23I have a bigger tree.
31:25Where's the bigger tree?
31:28It's...
31:29In our moving somewhere?
31:30Yes.
31:31Well, see, I'm not a planner, not a great planner, but she planned this.
31:35Now she's having to pivot.
31:37And doggone it, we've got this great Christmas spirit going on, and now we don't have a great
31:43tree.
31:44Look, there's mistletoe.
31:45No, I don't know if it's mistletoe.
31:48If it's got berries, it's mistletoe to me.
31:50We need to take him out of these bags, though.
31:52Hey.
31:53Looks like it's mistletoe to me.
31:55Oh.
31:56Robin is a little bit shy.
31:58This is so cute.
31:59Now there's trees for Aurora and Brody.
32:02Aw.
32:03Wait, what about trees for you and me?
32:05Oh, oh.
32:06What about trees for me?
32:08I'm not shy at all.
32:10Because I'm not shy, I can be embarrassing, I think.
32:14And I don't want to embarrass her.
32:17I just like affection.
32:19I don't care about PDA.
32:21I don't care if it's in public.
32:23I don't care where it is.
32:24I want to show the affection.
32:27Where's my pocket knife?
32:28Brody, do you have a pocket knife?
32:29I do.
32:30No, I don't on me right now.
32:31She has it.
32:32Yeah.
32:33Oh, then we've been shown up.
32:35Check that mess out.
32:36Oh, yeah.
32:37Yeah, that's, that's...
32:38He gave that to me.
32:39Yeah, go to that.
32:40Oh, yeah.
32:41You're the man.
32:42He gave it to me because I have parents who are very protective and loving.
32:46And they were vocalizing it.
32:49And he was like, well, here.
32:51Here's a knife.
32:52If you feel the need to use it on me, please do.
32:55But otherwise, it's just for sure.
32:56Did she really say that?
32:57Yeah.
32:58That's cute.
33:00So Brody, that's an interesting concept.
33:03I like to say when my daughter's going out with you, you know, I'm not there to protect her.
33:08And so it's your job to protect her, right?
33:10Yep.
33:11And do you feel that way?
33:12Oh, definitely.
33:13So you would be amiss if you didn't protect her from yourself, right?
33:19Definitely.
33:20What do you think, how do you interpret that?
33:21What do you think about that?
33:22My whole thing was, you know, she's got to have a way to protect herself.
33:25And, you know, I do as well.
33:27So I gave her one of my knives and I kept another.
33:29But if you're protecting her from you, what does that mean?
33:36Protecting her from me?
33:37Well, you know, obviously, we're just getting to know each other.
33:40And we'd been friends for just a little while.
33:42And so I could tell she was just kind of, oh, you know, nervous, I'd say.
33:46And, you know, there's some uncertainties there.
33:48And, yeah, so I figured I'd just give her a knife and make her feel good.
33:53Yeah.
33:54Here, then you can use this on me.
33:55I was hoping she wouldn't have to use it.
33:56I was like, oh, no.
33:57Please do.
33:58I'm just constantly reminding Aurora and Brody to take care,
34:03because I don't want my kids fooling around.
34:06So it's impossible to be involved with each other in a nature that's romantic
34:11without the potential of hurt.
34:13And that's when you get vulnerability,
34:15is when you're willing to take that chance, right?
34:18Yeah, yeah.
34:19I say to these young men almost always, your job is to protect my daughter, even from yourself.
34:31When you're just dating, you're kissing another man's wife until she's your wife.
34:38And if she doesn't become your wife, you're kissing another man's wife.
34:41This is the reason that I believe in chastity.
34:44It's like, don't take something away from them that doesn't belong to you.
34:49I wish that Cody and his kids got along better.
34:58I wish they were in each other's lives.
35:00I think it's sad.
35:01I think it's absolutely unfortunate.
35:02When you're protecting a girl, like, I want to protect Robin.
35:07If you love my daughter, then you'll love her as much as I loved her mother.
35:11And I kept my hands off of her until we were married.
35:14mmHmmm
35:19When you're protecting a girl like, I now protect Robin.
35:24Hmhmm.
35:25When I am protecting her from myself, I am
35:27trying to protect her from being hurt by me.
35:33Fair.
35:34Definitely fair.
35:35Yes.
35:36If you love my daughter, then you love her as much as I loved her mother.
35:41much as I loved her mother, and I kept my hands off of her until we were married.
35:46We were older, I had an outlet, I was still loving with my wives, but we didn't have real
35:53physical connection until we were married.
35:58I just think it's funny because after a while it's clear that my dad's talking about chastity,
36:05kind of, and I can tell that Brody's very much thinking about tactics.
36:10I know how to use knives, I'm trained in martial arts, she's good, sir.
36:17The best kind of relationship is one that you're so cool with each other, that if you don't
36:23keep dating, you'd still be friends, so that the next guy, if he's cool, would say thanks
36:30for watching out for my girl.
36:32That's a little weird though, I think, that's a little evolved, it's way more evolved than
36:38I actually am.
36:41So I feel like I'm more discriminating now than I was with Tony, than I was with Mitch,
36:47and than I was with Caleb.
36:48I just was less discriminating.
36:51Now it's a totally different story, I've gone through three divorces.
36:55The problem was, in the culture I came from, if at 22 I'm going steady with somebody, it's
37:02we're going to get married.
37:04I just, every experience that I had was like, I knew within a few days, maybe a few weeks
37:10of dating, that it was good or not.
37:13And then later on in my life, 25, 30 years later, I was like, oh, but that wasn't a good
37:18idea.
37:19So are you, would you feel comfortable coming and being a part of our Christmas Brody?
37:25Definitely.
37:26Yeah.
37:27Really?
37:28I feel like it's a special day, and I'd like to spend it with my special girl.
37:29Oh.
37:30Ooh.
37:31Ooh.
37:32Ooh.
37:33Hey, Mommy.
37:34There you go.
37:35I'm like, hey, do you want to spend Christmas with a special guy?
37:37Because I think you're a special girl.
37:38So I am that guy now.
37:40Oh, you are.
37:41Oh, wow.
37:42Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
37:44Nice.
37:45Cody is a romantic person, and anytime he sees anybody being romantic, he wants to be romantic
37:53too with me.
37:55I love it and I appreciate it, but it's just something that I'm kind of having to, like,
38:00untrain myself, I guess you'd say.
38:03She's careful.
38:04For so many years, was like, careful.
38:07Don't show the world that we've got this thing.
38:10Let's go have some eggnog.
38:13Ooh.
38:14Yeah.
38:15Sounds good.
38:16I believe that Roy is dating with intention, like, if she already knew she would never
38:23marry Brody, she would already be out of the relationship.
38:27A marriage is a contract.
38:29So if you find a deal breaker, you've got to get out, but why don't you find the deal breakers
38:35before you get married?
38:36I am so glad we did this.
38:49It's kind of fun to start establishing our own version of the traditions, however that
38:53morphs.
38:54I just like all the family, and I don't care if it's actually on Christmas Day.
38:59I just like the whole season.
39:01Whenever the kids come over, it's Christmas.
39:03What, do you want us to start caroling?
39:04Come on.
39:05Okay, I think we need to sing, we wish you a merry Christmas in a round.
39:08We wish you a merry Christmas, and someone else start, we wish, we wish you a merry Christmas.
39:12So, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry
39:16Christmas, and a happy new year.
39:18Those are literally the words.
39:19I love to listen to caroling.
39:21I, I'm not someone who seeks out to go caroling.
39:26You do all five people that are singing.
39:28Are we supposed to harmonize or what?
39:29Okay.
39:30We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas,
39:35and a happy new year.
39:38I don't think it's around.
39:39Everyone had to get their voices warmed up, they had to relax, everyone needed to just
39:43be in the moment.
39:44It took a little bit to orchestrate it, but in the end it was fine.
39:48We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry
39:53Christmas, and a happy new year.
39:57Okay, can we do it?
39:58Yes, thank you.
39:59What dinner is that?
40:01There you go.
40:02I'm calling frickin' team.
40:03We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry
40:07Christmas, and a happy new year.
40:11Good tidings to you, and all of your kin.
40:15Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year.
40:18Woo!
40:19Christmas and a Happy New Year!
40:24Okay.
40:24Amazing.
40:25Okay, now we can go eat.
40:26Now we can go eat.
40:27Woo!
40:28Happy Christmas!
40:31I wish that Cody and his kids got along better.
40:35I wish they were in each other's lives.
40:37They don't really, they don't see him.
40:40I think it's sad.
40:41I think it's absolutely unfortunate.
40:46Next time on Sister Wives.
40:48We're going to close on Coyote Pass soon.
40:50Does your money ever go into his hands?
40:52It better not go through his hands.
40:55Hey guys, how's it going?
40:58Anything exciting?
41:00It's not even cordial.
41:04Would you hang out with Cody?
41:05Sure.
41:06Doesn't mean you're condoning his actions, no,
41:08and nor does it mean that you're going to be brother husbands.
41:11I don't know.
41:13That's gone a little too far.
41:15I got another one of those emails from some woman
41:22asking sort of like to get to know us
41:25for the purpose of joining the family.
41:27You're going to be the only one of those emails from the family.
41:27You're going to be the only one of those emails from the family.
41:28You're going to be the only one of those emails from the family.
