00:22Launched in 1992, the Ecolabel promotes greener industrial practices and helps both consumers and businesses make more sustainable choices.
00:32And its reach keeps growing.
00:342025 saw a 15% increase in licenses compared to 2024.
00:40More than half of EU Ecolabel license holders are small and medium enterprises.
00:45Italy leads the EU with almost 19,000 certified products, followed by Spain, France and Germany.
00:54The largest certified sector is paints and varnishes, representing more than 38,000 certifications or about one-third of all Ecolabel products.
01:06Next comes tissue papers and products, followed by cleaning items.
01:10Tourism is also on the rise, with around 900 establishments now meeting Ecolabel standards.
01:17And the list of eligible sectors continues to grow, even extending to pet care products,
01:23after a dog shampoo from Catalonia became the first in its category to receive the certification.
