Two motorcyclists sustained minor injuries after a luxury SUV was involved in a multi-vehicle collision on Jalan Mount Erskine, George Town, on Thursday (Nov 6).

Police said the incident occurred around 8.10am when the 32-year-old driver of the SUV lost control and entered the opposite lane, colliding with an MPV and two motorcycles.

00:14occurred around 8.10 a.m. when the 32-year-old driver of the SUV lost control and entered
00:21the opposite lane, colliding with an MPV and two motorcycles. Initial investigations indicate
00:27the SUV driver had tried to avoid another motorcycle that entered his lane, causing him
00:33to skid into the opposite direction. Both motorcyclists, aged 33 and 48, suffered minor
00:40injuries while the SUV and MPV drivers were unharmed. Police confirmed that checks on the
00:47SUV driver's mobile phone showed no usage at the time of the crash. Breath and urine tests also
00:53confirmed he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The case is being investigated
00:59under Section 43, one of the Road Transport Act, 1987, for careless and inconsiderate driving.

01:13the SUV crashing into a line of vehicles waiting at a traffic light.
