00:01:37we're prepping them for final mission tonight recruits are approaching the final stages of

00:01:42selection in just a few hours they will be sent on the run nine i think he's capable he has improved

00:01:50but he's very slow to react whatever reason that is whether he just overthinks things i lack as

00:01:57much confidence in him as he lacks himself 16. he's come a long way from that cocky egotistical

00:02:06quarterback to someone who has realized that you're not always a top dog he's a front runner

00:02:12i think he still has that ego right there on the surface ready to come back out again 12. 12 has

00:02:18been a rock star he's been crushing it he doesn't seem to to show any kind of waver in his demeanor

00:02:23let's just see if we get a little bit more of who he is 11. physically she's been killing it you know

00:02:29she's been beating a lot of the guys i think the chink in her armor is being away from home i think

00:02:35she'll crack under pressure number eight she'd started well then started failing a few tasks

00:02:43i'd have her a front runner if she showed more resilience on the emotional side

00:02:51recruit number eight

00:02:52before recruits are sent on the run the ds will use the stark reality of war

00:03:04to put them into a heightened emotional state controlling emotion is the most important thing

00:03:10on the battlefield we want to see how they deal with that pressure stop hand out up to now recruits

00:03:27have had no contact at all with family or friends back home

00:03:45let's see what these recruits are made of this is going to be tougher

00:03:48hey mama we love you so much i got this little monkey on my back

00:04:00the boys have been non-stop been asking about you go go mama go go go mama

00:04:28a big emotional relief

00:04:37for some people that message from home could be the straw that breaks the camel's back

00:04:57strong we are so proud of you and you know i didn't want you to go on this journey but you're there and

00:05:27obviously obviously i'm worried about you and this no contact thing uh definitely sucks the kids have

00:05:43cam cam newton i know it's probably so tough out there but don't give up you've got this we do need

00:05:54it's kind of emotionless now yeah

00:06:01hey kk i want to give you some words of encouragement some affirmation just so you

00:06:07know that you are not doing this alone being a single woman you know it's not easy i've experienced

00:06:15some very difficult times and i've never been someone to hide my emotions your family is with

00:06:21you you are almost at the finish line i think certain decisions that i've made you know along

00:06:28the way you you question if you're doing the right thing a lot

00:06:35she's so emotionally raw right now

00:06:38this is now this is now the ultimate challenge for uh pushing this to the back of mind and going for

00:06:46the next 24 hours it's gonna be very tough

00:07:05in the past i've allowed my emotions to hinder me from like you know moving forward

00:07:12that's like the worst thing that you can do

00:07:17yeah that was nice come here come here come here oh i just love them so much

00:07:27if a message from home is all it takes to tip that person over the edge then they are not people that

00:07:35we want on this course who did everybody see my family i had my fiance and your kids how's your girl

00:07:44look no family what do they have my like my production company what what no family no family

00:07:57maybe they didn't know what you would be comfortable with

00:07:59we need to get to number 16

00:08:09with recruits emotional the ds will now increase the pressure

00:08:14in the mess

00:08:26right we all have our ups and downs but i find vulnerability it's more of a strength than

00:08:33climbing up and putting up a front

00:08:35this course is definitely a way of staring demons in the face we all have things that we're not so proud of

00:08:48back in the early 2000s when i joined the special forces

00:08:52i didn't know how to balance life i didn't know how to balance work

00:08:56my daughter was born extremely ill

00:09:00she needed a lot of care of attention and i didn't give it to them because i was a selfish

00:09:06i got it wrong

00:09:08now if there's things that you want to share they're more useful out than in

00:09:1516 stay here the rest of you go over to the accommodation

00:09:19how we doing

00:09:43how we doing good

00:09:49um my dark my dark side in my life was like i was in a long-term relationship

00:09:56and uh i had a child outside my relationship yeah we had just moved into a house

00:10:02and everything was kind of like perfect from the outside in you know

00:10:08and uh my relationship with my oldest daughter has suffered

00:10:12all she kept asking is like yo why

00:10:19family they give me purpose but i made my mistakes still making mistakes

00:10:26do you find it difficult

00:10:27yeah i'm still dealing with that resentment so if i can heal that then that's the that's the start

00:10:38i mean fair play i know your pain

00:10:51my daughter we have our disconnects but i just want my children to know that they did care

00:10:58like i care like i i care good what'd you share um

00:11:09it's like the vulnerableness was like having a child outside your relationship

00:11:15i know i hurt somebody but i didn't want what i created to be a secret either but all the while too

00:11:27my relationship with my oldest daughter suffered and is suffering right from that

00:11:34daddy cheated on mine

00:11:35i think it's important for me to be accountable but my children it's one of them like it don't matter

00:11:44what it is like you're willing to do it no woman man has ever had that over me sacrifice

00:11:54yeah your kids bring out something else in you it's just bro it's the side of you that you

00:11:58you're gonna i didn't even even know exist totally

00:12:07uh all right so we're gonna lock into their emotions and turn the thumbscrews

00:12:13what do you say fellas let's do it recruits let's go

00:12:20the ds want to find out if the final five have what it takes to perform

00:12:26whilst emotions are running high

00:12:32every time i think about my kids i literally tear up i like can't because i'll break down

00:12:40there we go gay faces let's go recruit the recruits ability to switch off and prepare for battle

00:12:47is about to be tested hustle on in hurry up right here face me that's it

00:12:54on command you will overpower the enemy stood before you with controlled aggression

00:13:04you're about to enter an extremely hostile environment you must use your personal power tap

00:13:10into whatever fuels your fire how you contain your emotion in combat will tell us if you've got what

00:13:19it takes to stand beside us are we together yes sir

00:13:26when you're at war the pressure comes from not knowing what's next you have to turn on

00:13:31the red mist and engage in extreme violence could you go in yes sir control the emotion and go toe to

00:13:40toe with an enemy

00:13:44the recruits don't know the nature of the threat that awaits

00:13:48i need you to neutralize any hostile threat that means you find in yourself aggression anger let's go

00:14:02i've just gone through public breakup and dealing with trolls or just hate online was difficult for me

00:14:08i've prevailed and i've pushed through

00:14:20but i took a hit to my confidence

00:14:31i don't want to quit and i think that that's what would upset me the most

00:14:38i don't want to stop me inside there's the person you hate

00:14:50stand up

00:15:00if you're working in a small team in the special forces world and you had that person by your side

00:15:05all of a sudden they fall apart that's a big liability

00:15:22okay look at me look at me look at me you okay

00:15:27i feel things very deeply i think i definitely internalize the pressure is definitely overwhelming

00:15:37at times for sure

00:15:44were you able to cut it off whenever they said stop it feels like i don't even know how to describe it

00:15:51i don't even but it's like i'm you're still emotionally there

00:15:57physically exerting yourself and then being like okay stop turn it off yeah freaking can't for sure

00:16:05they wanted you to go to that place but i mean yeah it's so hard to like switch off

00:16:09man

00:16:13you're waiting for me

00:16:16special forces selection it's about pushing the mind through something it's never ever been through before

00:16:25i need you to find aggression

00:16:28this is about control you've got to dig deep into your sight and find full-on aggression once i had a

00:16:34kid i was like i'm not living for myself anymore i'm living for her you ready yes all right let's

00:16:39go head down go of course i want to be there for my little girl take him down take him out

00:16:47feet elbows on the red bits only control aggression take him down take him down

00:16:55i'm a competitor but to win you may need to go to that dark place it's gonna cost you something

00:17:04take him down get him down people refer to football players as modern day gladiators

00:17:13one game was like being in a car wreck physically you can do this mentally see how far you can take

00:17:23this growing up i didn't get to have that father figure in my life and when you have kids you need

00:17:44to accept a little bit of responsibility that the things you do are also going to reflect on them as

00:17:49well what was going through your head right there somebody harmed my daughter she's nine months old

00:17:59i get triggered when anybody gets triggered you don't care all right self-control is something

00:18:04that i yearn for what was going through your mind right there kill or be killed all right

00:18:10i just beat out of him there was a stream of water and i was trying to get his ass

00:18:14to that water to drown him oh my god i had to take myself somewhere dark

00:18:24let's go hawaii last to face the enemy is number 11 alana blanchard i miss my kids i want to get back

00:18:34but i know i'm going to need to like push through that what you're going to use is fuel the person

00:18:39that i'm attacking is trying to hurt my kids right so start thinking about that right let's go i think

00:18:45if i don't get overwhelmed and like think too much i think i can do it get him out take him out take

00:18:53him down get your knees and huge your feet your head your elbows take him down elbows elbows

00:19:15how'd you feel felt good trying to beat someone up yeah i liked it

00:19:19i've been the most interested of all that love was eight look at my middle finger oh i thought that

00:19:28i think it's swollen number eight was really was thinking about some real rage she was aggressive

00:19:34she meant it she was in a different world she couldn't open her eyes she was still raging

00:19:42recruits let's hit it

00:20:06i can't stretch i'm like so sore

00:20:16recruits get on parade everybody on parade check your laces everything good come on hoodies off hats on let's go

00:20:37we started nine days ago with 16 we are down to five

00:20:43but this next 24 hours is going to be the hardest training any civilian can receive

00:20:49everything you have been taught you're going to need you'll be on the run you're going to be hunted

00:20:55people dogs vehicles out there after you

00:20:59a thousand days on the run is better than one day in captivity

00:21:07a thousand days yeah i know right

00:21:24in preparation for the exercise to come

00:21:36the recruits will receive a final briefing

00:21:38all right ladies and gents who here has experience with land navigation

00:21:45not really all right this is a one in 25 thousands map during this phase you're on the move and being

00:21:53pursued by a hunter force you see the red line yes that's a highway look at the blue you'll see ponds lakes and rivers

00:22:02using a map and compass you must make it to extract on time let's take this peak

00:22:08to this pond that's a thousand meters for a reference think of 10 football fields

00:22:16when you're deep behind enemy lines and you get lost

00:22:19you could walk right into the enemy's hands

00:22:22whenever conducting operations there is a possibility of capture

00:22:28we always go out with a cover store when we deploy

00:22:31the basis of the cover store is to cover the truth and you need to really be good at lying

00:22:3716 go and read that first part you are in wells as a celebrity ambassador for the seaweed and

00:22:42wonderful campaign you plan to camp on the beach after the first day to cook up seaweed samples and sleep

00:22:49under the stars this is where we see the recruits that step up and drive on

00:22:55or the recruits that wilt and fall by the wayside

00:22:58if you are captured you're going to behave docile and helpful because if you're trouble

00:23:06you'll get the 45 to the head

00:23:18do not worry about the defeat dwell on the victory it's gonna be wild guys yeah

00:23:24after nine days on selection recruits now prepare for the final push

00:23:35remember though to tune all the chaos out because i'm sure they're straight out of the gate there's

00:23:40going to be a lot of distraction on tuning that out

00:23:43war is essentially a journey into the unknown we're wearing our jackets out there guys yeah jackets

00:23:55everything's a surprise damn yeah i take my all the way out my wet pack

00:24:01why are you gonna save recruits out here now you have to be able to react and react properly quickly

00:24:06and with good decision making

00:24:17the final stage of selection has begun

00:24:43the recruits are being sent on the run get over there get over there

00:24:49their mission to evade capture from an enemy hunter force

00:24:53the race is being overrun he's a bucket of people now hurry up hurry up move move move

00:24:58who have launched a simulated base attack

00:25:01the recruits have been split into two teams team bravo dude all those hikes

00:25:25have freaking trained us for this moment yeah and team alpha

00:25:32stop thinking about what it would be like to be on the run behind the enemy lines

00:25:36they're coming after you with dogs so you need to get going don't get caught

00:25:42both teams are being driven deep into the welsh countryside

00:25:45and dropped at two separate locations we're now heading through a series of rendezvous points

00:25:57to an extraction point recruits have until midnight to reach the extraction point

00:26:03their first set of directions are hidden in a cache which they must now locate find the case

00:26:10check your bearing as soon as you're ready to go back away you go all right you know what you're

00:26:14looking for let's go being on the run you have to move with speed clothesline right there use

00:26:22things to your advantage steal clothes that look local to the populace that you're operating right

00:26:27there there's ammo box right there you've got an end goal to get to and you cannot afford to be captured

00:26:38rv is at the bridge across the railway locate the ammo box for further instruction

00:26:42using only a map and compass both teams must navigate across town and country to two rv points

00:26:55where they will pick up directions to the final harborside extraction point which must be reached

00:27:01before midnight so rv is behind a wall near the railway station head south west on a bearing

00:27:11of 240 degrees so let's hit to that brick wall we've seen the thing with the two trees right there

00:27:16yeah let's go right there come on quick let's move it quick let's take advantage of this light

00:27:23let's go around the wall i can't hear you come on just follow me as quick as you can

00:27:29golden hurry

00:27:33we let's go around the side i think we're going right through the thorns

00:27:36being a surfer people never really took me seriously and i want to prove people wrong

00:27:45it's a river will you cost us yeah yep yep i feel i'm just as strong as any guy keep your eyes up

00:28:00here we go brookal branch yeah it might have been easier for us to do a road but hopefully this will

00:28:47recruits are being tracked by an ex-military hunter force who will attempt to apprehend both teams

00:28:54they're heading south let's move around now to cut them off before the midnight deadline

00:28:59the enemy have got pretty much everything at their disposal dogs night vision devices

00:29:06the recruits are going to be in for nasty shock right let's get eyes on

00:29:11dsq and rudy will monitor the recruits progress from base

00:29:16go get him go go go go i thought we're supposed to stay off the main roads

00:29:25still trying to find their first rv point a team offer

00:29:31i'm so confused alpha is all over the place right now i wish i knew where we were in the map let's go

00:29:37back we got it come on come on come on having led the charge number 12 brodie jenner is now lost

00:29:45let's go i can take the back seat sometimes but i'm still super competitive

00:29:52we need to cut and hide i don't know we can't just walk run down the road go come on

00:29:56this way i think the loudest person in the room is never the strongest what do you want to do to sit

00:30:40your wits about you and you've got to stay focused because the only thing that keeps you alive

00:30:45is that gap between you and the enemy wait wait i can't get any hearings of me

00:31:34extraction point these recruits are about to enter civilization tactical movement is paramount

00:32:30infiltrate the airfield locate ammo box the top of the control tower for final instructions

00:32:47head directly west to the airfield infiltrate the airfield via gap in the perimeter fence

00:33:50to get there they must navigate rural terrain in darkness and quickly

00:34:11we can't just steal we don't have any money an honesty snack box

00:36:46when you're operating beyond enemy lines and you are being hunted down by people that want to kill

00:37:29golden is that someone coming with a light that's at the end right

00:37:51at an airfield rendezvous to pick up directions to their extraction point

00:37:59team alpha are on the run

00:38:02but bravo are surrounded

00:38:17in the past i would be the one to say that i thrive under pressure

00:41:36it's absolutely petrifying

00:41:51now captured the recruits have been returned to camp

00:41:58forward forward now they face the final and artist phase of selection

00:42:07interrogation

00:42:17all right gentlemen so it begins the ds have recruited a team of specialist interrogators

00:42:43the leaders

00:42:44keep the gun still

00:42:48led by an umpire who cannot be identified for security reasons

00:42:53right here we go this is the final go get them recruits now face multiple stages of interrogation

00:43:02this is where we hand over the recruits

00:43:11this is where we hand over the recruits to the interrogators

00:43:14it is a completely different game

00:43:17who are you in stage one processing the recruits meet their captors

00:43:25i'm from the united states i said who are you who am i yeah my name is brodie

00:43:34yeah

00:43:34yeah this is about them understanding that they're no longer in control of their own destiny

00:43:41if you do what you're told you get things what do you think happens though if you don't

00:43:48i don't think i want to know no you don't

00:43:50it is psychological torture

00:43:55they're cold it's very cold

00:44:01you've got to take all that off all my clothes

00:44:08processing is designed to basically make you feel vulnerable

00:44:13you are literally stripped of everything that you've got

00:44:17your dignity your pride obviously keep the underpants on

00:44:26take your socks off for me they're just okay

00:44:35playing football there's a certain bravado that you have to have

00:44:40so self-confidence is something that i've always had like you gotta have it okay

00:44:50he comes from a background of always winning one of the biggest stars in the

00:44:54field so he cares an arrogance about him

00:45:00now i'm just looking up here what's that
