00:00We're getting married in a couple months.
00:02Okay!
00:03Herm and Aaron are excited to plant roots together.
00:05We would like to be able to have that place to come home to.
00:07But finding common ground...
00:09I'm not interested in that, to be honest with you.
00:11You sure?
00:12Yep, positive.
00:13Okay.
00:14...is easier said than done.
00:15I'm not really liking any of these.
00:16Nothing?
00:17Mm-mm.
00:18Hmm.
00:19What do you think?
00:20Don't be scared, Herm.
00:21I'm gonna be afraid.
00:23I don't think I'm gonna win this one.
00:25To plan a wedding and to design a house at the same time,
00:27it's not for the weak.
00:28No, it's not.
00:29Is this what they mean by house divided?
00:32Can Brian and I get this house done in time
00:34to start their wedded bliss?
00:35This is one of the most unique day ones we've ever had.
00:38Oh, jeez.
00:40We have another problem.
00:41The ground's not level.
00:43There's no extra boards?
00:45Or will it be a total miss?
00:47Yeah, the room's not wide enough, period.
00:49You're kidding me, right?
00:50No.
00:51Welcome home!
00:52The newlyweds are home!
00:53Oh, man, Brian, this is looking good so far.
00:56Yeah!
00:57Mika and I build custom homes on fast timelines.
01:00We don't want to carry two mortgages for too long.
01:03Time is money.
01:04We're proof that construction and marriage can mix.
01:08Give me a sweaty hug.
01:09Ugh!
01:10We're still doing new construction.
01:11You ready to break some ground?
01:12But now, we're taking bigger risks.
01:16Look at all that black mold behind that wall.
01:18I think we're gonna do a shipping container house.
01:20Let's go!
01:21Let's go!
01:22Making bolder decisions.
01:23Put your arm up here.
01:26We've never put it in any other house.
01:28And always racing the clock.
01:30I can't believe they're gonna be living inside of this in less than 100 days.
01:34This is amazing.
01:36Look at this.
01:37This might be the fastest house we ever built.
01:38It's already done.
01:39I think we're putting a new house on this property.
01:40But let's find out what they need.
01:41So today, we are in Ichipakasasa.
01:42That's what they originally called Plant City.
01:43And it actually means medicinal plants.
01:44Did you just make that up?
01:45Nope.
01:46I did my homework.
01:47Hi!
01:48We found you guys!
01:49How are you doing?
01:50Wow!
01:51Oh my gosh, this property is quite beautiful.
01:53So this is, uh, this is home?
01:54Sort of, yeah.
01:55It's a weekend home.
01:56Yeah, we're in between here and Orlando, here in Orlando, if you're in Orlando,
02:00I did my homework.
02:01Hi, we found you guys.
02:03How are you doing?
02:04Wow.
02:05Oh my gosh, this property is quite beautiful.
02:09So this is, this is home?
02:12Sort of, yeah.
02:12It's a weekend home.
02:14Yeah, we're in between here and Orlando.
02:16When we met, actually, she lived here and I lived in Orlando.
02:18Oh, OK.
02:19So you're just not living here full time.
02:20Right.
02:22I am a nurse that was working at the hospital here in Plant
02:25City.
02:26He ends up walking in with his mom.
02:28I was like, whoa.
02:29I went out to the nurse's station with my girls.
02:32I said, oh my god.
02:35We started dating pretty quickly after that.
02:39We kind of came together as a blended family.
02:41I've got five kids.
02:42She's got two.
02:43They're pretty much all grown and out of the house now.
02:45Currently, we have our two nieces.
02:47Sadie.
02:48She's 16.
02:4916.
02:50Big into guitar now.
02:51And our cute little one is 11.
02:54She goes by Addie.
02:55She's a sweetheart.
02:56It became a little bit more important
02:57when we took custody of our nieces
02:59to make sure that they have an environment to grow healthy.
03:01And that's kind of why we need this as quickly as possible
03:05and to have a place we're not commuting back and forth.
03:07We want to build a house here because she
03:09wants to be here on this property.
03:11How did you find this?
03:11And how long did you live here then, Erin?
03:13So I found the beautiful property in 2016.
03:17It's four acres.
03:18Love the woods and the possibilities.
03:22So this was good when I had my girls.
03:25It was plenty enough space for us.
03:27This isn't built for large people here.
03:28I'm six foot four inches.
03:29I mean, you're huge.
03:30It's like not many people are taller than me.
03:32Yes.
03:33And now with having to raise our nieces,
03:36that kind of changed the dynamic as well.
03:38Do you envision the new house kind of being
03:40where we're sitting now?
03:41Yes, absolutely.
03:42OK.
03:42I'm just trying to think how we're
03:43going to get this out of here.
03:44We're going to have to take this out in pieces.
03:45Now Brian's already stressing about how to get it.
03:47Like four pieces.
03:48Are there stairs back there?
03:49It looks like it just drops off.
03:51There used to be a porch.
03:53But I had to take it down because the trailer
03:54has to move soon.
03:55The view is really beautiful.
03:57So I would love to go explore outside.
03:58Absolutely.
03:59You guys go out the front door.
04:01I'm going to adventure down the back.
04:02I will be going out with Erin and her.
04:04I will not be jumping off the back.
04:05Definitely.
04:06Be careful.
04:07Whoa!
04:13What took y'all so long?
04:15My knees.
04:15My knees.
04:16I was trying to save my knees, yeah.
04:18Oh, man.
04:18This is so peaceful and relaxing back here.
04:22It's like you have your own little forest.
04:24I love how you have all of these different little zones.
04:27So these are my daughter Kaylee's birthday presents.
04:31My little Kaylee, she is a beautiful soul,
04:35and she's my little angel.
04:36And right before turning 10, she was in an accident
04:39and passed away five years ago.
04:42We do the gardens every year on her birthday.
04:45Started the tree-lined garden, and then that garden's her 13.
04:50This one's 14, and this one's 15.
04:52Wow.
04:53Her birthday will be around again,
04:55and then she'll get another garden.
04:56And we'll do another one to honor her.
04:58That's so beautiful.
04:59That'd be the Sweet 16 garden?
05:00It's going to be, yes.
05:01Wow.
05:01That's a special one.
05:02And we're going to make sure that we take special care of this
05:05during construction.
05:06Awesome.
05:07This is going to be a fresh start for you guys,
05:09and you know, you're taking care of your nieces now,
05:11so we want to make sure that we plan the house
05:13for everybody to be happy.
05:15So what are you thinking and envisioning?
05:17We want three bedrooms.
05:19With an office and then three bathrooms.
05:21And three bathrooms.
05:22OK.
05:23A split plan.
05:24What about your main suite?
05:25It's got to be massive.
05:26I have a Florida King bed that's 10 foot wide, so.
05:29Wow.
05:30So it's got to accommodate that with a nightstand on either side.
05:32OK, so a normal size room is like 10 by 10,
05:34so this bed is the size of a room.
05:37It's ginormous.
05:38OK.
05:38Sundays are family days, so family is definitely a big thing
05:41that we want to center around.
05:42We want a bonus or a game room, somewhere
05:44that we can play pool and just hang out.
05:46OK.
05:47Big lanai.
05:48We do cook outdoors pretty much every weekend.
05:50And definitely with the lanai, we want the sunsets back here.
05:53That's west, yeah.
05:54OK.
05:54And it is gorgeous.
05:55So we want to flip the house this way then.
05:57Yes.
05:58I love it.
05:59We're getting a good head start.
06:00We're going to do inspiration tours,
06:01so I want to walk through some houses with you guys
06:03to really figure out the style of home you want.
06:06I like farmhouse, totally dig that rustic, simple vibe.
06:11It kind of seems fitting considering
06:12that I see a cow right over there.
06:15How much money do we have to build your farmhouse
06:17out here in Plant City?
06:19We're thinking probably around $600,000.
06:20You're going to sell your Orlando house?
06:22Yes.
06:22Are you keeping that?
06:22Yeah, I'll sell that.
06:23We're getting married in a couple months,
06:24so we would like to be able to have that place to come home to.
06:27OK, so that's really going to be cool.
06:30OK.
06:31We can't promise to have it done before the wedding,
06:33but that is going to give us that extra push,
06:35because I'm sure you're ready to get settled,
06:37start your new lives together.
06:39I want to see more of the gardens.
06:39Yes, look how much space this is.
06:41I am so excited.
06:56Inspiration tours are kind of my favorite part.
06:58I get to work with you guys, and Brian stays home.
07:00Ha ha ha!
07:01All right, so Herb and Erin, you described this dream home
07:04as a farmhouse, so that's why I brought you to this house.
07:08There are some key features that I think about with farmhouse.
07:12The first would probably be the black and white
07:14kind of contrast, aesthetic.
07:17I don't like it at all.
07:20It's very boring.
07:24I'm with that, but I'm listening to her.
07:27He's at a loss for words, and you're bored.
07:29This is not a good start to the day.
07:32We do have the Borden Batten, which is also kind of farmhouse.
07:35What do you think about that?
07:36I'm not interested in that, to be honest with you.
07:38You sure?
07:39Yep, positive.
07:40OK.
07:42Let me ask you then, what in your mind
07:44is the perfect farmhouse?
07:45What does it look like on the outside?
07:49So I do like grays.
07:51I think you like the stone accent too,
07:53which isn't necessarily farmhouse, but it's more rustic.
07:55OK, follow me.
08:00OK, so this house, guys, has kind of those elements
08:03of craftsman.
08:05I love the stonework for sure.
08:07I like the columns.
08:10It would be nice to see some wooden beams on the outside
08:12too, around the porch would be nice.
08:15OK.
08:16Herb, I want you to also give us some input.
08:21I'm going to go with whatever she says.
08:23What?
08:23You know what?
08:24OK, well.
08:25With couples, there's always one strong personality,
08:28and there's usually one that's a little bit more passive.
08:31Don't be scared, Herb.
08:32Don't be scared.
08:32I'm going to be afraid.
08:34At the end of the day, I want to make sure it's 50-50 equal,
08:36and they're both in love with their dream home.
08:42OK, let's check this out.
08:45A little long.
08:47I would like to walk in and walk in.
08:50We can maybe shorten this up a little bit?
08:52Yeah.
08:53Flooring, what do you think?
08:54This is a wood-like tile.
08:56I want some warmer tones.
08:58You're thinking more of like that true wood?
09:00Yes.
09:01OK.
09:02Let's check out this kitchen.
09:03I do feel if you have an open concept,
09:05what you do in the kitchen is kind of affecting
09:07all the other design decisions.
09:08I am liking definitely that that island doesn't match.
09:13What do you think about the countertops?
09:16What do you think?
09:19OK, so.
09:21I'm not going to try, try nothing.
09:22Uh-uh, no, this is your opportunity.
09:24She asked you an open-ended question.
09:25The only thing that I remember that you really
09:27wondered about countertops was sparkles.
09:29I do want to see glitter.
09:31Very specific.
09:32It's not necessarily great when someone's kind of going
09:36along with the flow, because it leaves a big question mark
09:39to me if they're really liking what the other person is saying.
09:42We'll see, um.
09:49I do want to see glitter.
09:51We'll see, um.
09:53It is going to sparkle, and it's going to make me smile.
09:55OK, well, we want you smiling at all times.
09:58So that'll be interesting.
09:59Yes, he does.
10:01If she's happy, he's happy.
10:03However, I do think he's holding back some of his opinions,
10:07and I really want to pull that out of him today.
10:09Let's go back to thinking about our blueprint,
10:11how we're flowing in this space.
10:13The pantry's kind of tucked back here.
10:14So Herb, what are your thoughts on accessibility to the pantry?
10:19So what actually we've talked about?
10:22We definitely need a bigger door.
10:23Yeah, I don't.
10:25He's stuck.
10:26I don't think that's going to work.
10:28I'm noticing that you actually do have more opinion
10:31than you believe.
10:31It's just.
10:32It's just in functionality, which he's not worried about.
10:34OK.
10:35So as a team, that's perfect.
10:37Exactly.
10:38We hope.
10:38Yes.
10:39Yeah, being a large mammal definitely has its disadvantages.
10:41It's kind of tough to move around.
10:43So functionality and everything making you feel like normal-sized person
10:47is really important.
10:48He, yeah, needs to be comfortable, and that makes me happy, too.
10:51I know you guys want a bonus area.
10:53What all are we doing in this room?
10:55A pool table, like a bar setup, a good-sized TV on the wall,
10:58kind of more of an open entertainment space.
11:00I think a pool table room needs to have carpet.
11:03I would think kind of keep it the same as the rest of the house.
11:06I don't know.
11:07I don't want to hear pool balls hitting the floor.
11:10You know when you play pool, you knock the balls off the table
11:12all the time.
11:15We're not quite there yet.
11:16We will have some time to figure that out,
11:18but at least we know how big the space needs to be
11:21and where it's going to be located in the hall.
11:22Yes, good idea.
11:23Now that I'm getting opinions from Herb,
11:25I want to concentrate on their personal spaces.
11:28We've got to figure out your retreat.
11:31I know you have a giant bed we have to accommodate.
11:34I have a Florida King bed that's 10 foot wide, so.
11:37Wow.
11:38Oh, nice.
11:39I need a visual of this bed.
11:41Keep going.
11:42Keep going.
11:43Are you serious?
11:44You're kidding me, right?
11:45No.
11:46Holy moly.
11:47Yeah, it's got to be wider.
11:48So the width of the room has to be.
11:50Yeah, the room's not wide enough, period.
11:53All right, so let's check out this bathroom,
11:54because I do recall you saying something about not being able to rotate
11:58in your current shower.
11:59So all right, can we turn all the way?
12:01Yep.
12:02Maybe taller fixtures, but I think it works.
12:03OK, perfect.
12:05So while we spent a lot of time getting Herb and Erin on the same page,
12:08I didn't want to forget about the nieces.
12:10Well, the little one, Addie, she's very artsy, crafty, creative.
12:15Sadie.
12:15Sadie.
12:16She is into sage grain.
12:19Yes.
12:19Oh, I love that.
12:20So that's kind of totally Jade's vibe,
12:22so I'm going to have to have our 16-year-old help spruce up her room.
12:26And now I'm feeling pretty good about all the decisions
12:29we were able to make.
12:30It's a good day.
12:31It's a good day.
12:39It is so peaceful and relaxing out here.
12:41I know.
12:42Isn't it beautiful?
12:43You ready to see what house we're going to put on this lot?
12:45Absolutely.
12:46After we take this house off the lot?
12:48Yes.
12:48So you've got the front porch.
12:50It's got a really beautiful entryway with the gable,
12:53so I think that's going to draw your attention as soon as you see it.
12:56You have the stone accents to kind of give it a little bit of texture.
12:59And then the cedar wrap columns, I think, really speak farmhouse.
13:02Yes, absolutely.
13:03I love that.
13:04Lap siding as well.
13:05We gave you a double entry front door that leads right into the foyer.
13:09Oh, hey, Herb, you can carry Aaron through the threshold on this.
13:12That's important.
13:13Oh, that's right.
13:14Newlyweds, newlyweds.
13:16Very true.
13:17When you come in, you do have that ceiling height,
13:19so I think that's going to give you more of the grand entrance.
13:22You've got to the left-hand side, your formal dining area,
13:25and to the right-hand side, the office.
13:27That works.
13:28Yep, I like that.
13:29Stepping into the house a little bit further,
13:32the great room and the kitchen,
13:34they're basically in one big open space.
13:35So when you're at the island, you can kind of see and be part of the party.
13:39Love it.
13:40As far as entertaining, though, you have plenty of room
13:42with that large kitchen and great room,
13:44but also with your new game room,
13:46which we positioned in this corner so it has access to the lanai.
13:49And then you do have a bathroom right there,
13:50so that's kind of your guest bath slash your outdoor bathroom.
13:54And then a really nice-sized back porch that we're positioning
13:57so you can enjoy the sunsets and the evening glass of wine in the back.
14:02Perfect. Love it.
14:03So we made sure we gave you this split floor plan
14:05as far as the girls' bedrooms on one side
14:07with a shared bathroom in between and your retreat on the other.
14:11Your main suite is going to be the main event for that Florida King bed.
14:16We made sure that wall is plenty wide.
14:18Yep. Excellent.
14:19You do have a huge walk-in shower.
14:21Well, you could probably do a cartwheel in the shower.
14:24I don't know that I could do cartwheel anywhere, but...
14:26We could certainly give it a shot.
14:28We gave you the three bedrooms, the three bathrooms,
14:31plus you have the home office.
14:32You're right at 2,700 square feet.
14:34We're going to make it work within that budget of $600,000.
14:37And I cannot wait to start picking out some finishes
14:39and you guys can really infuse your personalities into the space.
14:42Awesome. Perfect.
14:43The newlyweds are ready to be home.
14:45Oh, the newlyweds.
14:46Well, they will be newlyweds.
14:48We're excited.
14:57So this is one of the most unique day ones we've ever had.
15:00Before we can officially break ground on their dream home,
15:03we have to break apart this mobile home,
15:05and there's so many steps involved.
15:07All right, let's pull this bad boy off.
15:09After we disconnect utilities,
15:11it's time to turn this one house into two.
15:14Is this what they mean by house divided?
15:17Wheels up.
15:20All right, it's time to slap some wheels on it
15:22and lift it off the cinder blocks.
15:24Just half of this mobile home weighs around 45,000 pounds.
15:28Talk about an oversized load.
15:30All right, let's crank it up.
15:31Time to make this mobile home mobile.
15:39I'm amazed that that skid steer can move that entire house.
15:42That thing is strong, isn't it?
15:44Easy.
15:45Watch out.
15:46It's going to be tight going down that road.
15:47Oh, my goodness, it is.
15:48Hopefully, they got all their things out of there.
15:50All right, wait.
15:52One down, one to go.
15:55Hey, I saw Albert at the end of the road.
15:57He's ready to go.
15:58I know, I know.
15:59So as soon as these trailers are gone,
16:00we can get started.
16:01The tractor comes in.
16:02Time to lift it up some more.
16:04Okay, I'm raising it up.
16:06A little more.
16:08Oh, jeez.
16:09Nope.
16:10Dang.
16:11A little more.
16:12Nope.
16:13That just crumbled.
16:14We're trying to get Herb and Aaron's trailer out so we can start the ground break, but
16:27we've hit a bit of a road block, or should I say cinder block.
16:30We can't get the trailer lifted up and off of them.
16:33Oh, boy.
16:34It's not moving.
16:35This mobile home doesn't want to become mobile.
16:38It's giving up the fight.
16:39Always one that's difficult.
16:41Trying to get these blocks cleared, but we can't get our hydraulic lift high enough,
16:44so we're kind of stuck.
16:46The corner of this house is resting on these blocks, and with no way to lift the house any
16:51higher, we've got to break the blocks from underneath it.
16:54And hopefully it doesn't topple over.
16:56Oh, she's almost there.
16:59It's hanging on by a thread.
17:02Who's going to win?
17:03Us or the mobile home?
17:05Yeah.
17:06Can you get it from that side?
17:07Oh!
17:08Oh, my gosh!
17:09Are you serious?
17:10Who's hanging on one little piece?
17:14Now we can get the show and these trailers on the road.
17:18There we go.
17:19Woo!
17:20It's a tight fit.
17:21So far, so good.
17:22That's a wrap.
17:23Trailer's out.
17:24We've got to get the tractors in.
17:25The good news is the lot's already scraped.
17:26It's halfway there.
17:27Easiest ground break ever.
17:28Hello.
17:29Hi there.
17:30How's it going?
17:31Oh, yeah.
17:32It's going.
17:33Listen, you're probably already, like, brain fried from commuting from Orlando and wedding
17:50decisions, because the big day is coming up.
17:52Yay!
17:53So, to plan a wedding and to design a house at the same time, look, it's not for the
17:57week.
17:58No, it's not.
17:59It's stressful finishing up those last minute touches.
18:02Hopefully, today will be, like, a distraction, but a pleasant one.
18:04Okay.
18:05We should see what you want as, like, your main palette for your kitchen cabinetry.
18:09What do you think?
18:10Well, I know I don't want everything all white, but I don't know how dark I would want a bottom.
18:15Whatever we pick for the lowers, I feel like that should maybe be the island color, too.
18:19Okay.
18:20Yeah.
18:21What would complement this the best for you?
18:22I like either one of the darker options versus the...
18:25I agree.
18:26Okay, so let's put this in between the two.
18:29I really think I'm leaning towards this.
18:31I would agree.
18:32Yeah!
18:33We want white cabinets, upper, we want our island and our lowers to be this darker gray.
18:37Yep, absolutely.
18:38I also put some samples of kitchen countertop.
18:41I know the one word that you described, Erin, was glitter.
18:45Oh, it's got to be this one.
18:47That's a great sparkle amount.
18:49It's not overwhelming, but it is beautiful.
18:51It'll catch your eye and make me smile every time I walk by.
18:54Any thoughts for your bathroom?
18:56If you had to say three words to describe it, what do you want that bathroom space to feel like?
19:01Natural waterfalls, the almost mountainous, creaky river.
19:08That's more than three words.
19:10Hey, that's okay.
19:11I think I actually have something I want to show you.
19:13It might be kind of cool to incorporate it.
19:15I'm going to go grab it real quick.
19:17Herb and Erin both love being outdoors.
19:20So I think this tile selection can be something that speaks true to both of them.
19:25Check this out.
19:27River Rock.
19:28River Rock.
19:29This is bringing the outside in.
19:31This could be your shower floor or an accent wall or both.
19:34It is so unique.
19:36I haven't seen it in any other house.
19:38Yeah, look at all those colors.
19:40Mm-hmm.
19:41I really like it.
19:42Every time you step in that shower, you've got a foot massage going on.
19:46I think that could definitely work.
19:49I like the concept of it, and it looks gorgeous.
19:52It just worries me a little bit as far as making sure that it's maintained and stays clean.
19:58There's not a fungus among us.
20:00Fungus among us?
20:02So it's meant to be used inside.
20:05There's going to be a sealant on it.
20:07It'll be a little bit protected.
20:08And then the darker ground might be nice.
20:10It's going to be a little bit easier to keep clean.
20:12Okay.
20:13I'm down if you like it.
20:14We can do that.
20:15I think I like that.
20:16Nice.
20:17Very cool.
20:18Very cool.
20:19We are doing so good.
20:20What kind of flooring do you want in that room where the pool table is going to be?
20:23Is LVP or are we mentioned carpet?
20:25We do hang out and entertain in there.
20:27It's not to say that there isn't the adult beverage or tin.
20:30So things hitting the floor and staining carpet just makes it tough for maintenance.
20:33Well, that is very true.
20:35But I think when the pool ball gets hit off the table, it gets cushioned by the carpet.
20:42There is a softness and coziness to it.
20:44Maybe a darker tone.
20:46It's not going to show as much dirt.
20:48Okay.
20:49I mean, I guess, yeah, maybe.
20:50I would lean more towards a gray.
20:52I think I like this one.
20:54Can we both live with that?
20:56All right.
20:57I'll begrudgingly concede.
20:59She won a couple of things today.
21:01So you're gonna have to give me one back somewhere.
21:03Right here.
21:12I'll take a little off.
21:15Every day counts when you're building a house in 100 days.
21:18But it counts even more when you have soon-to-be newlyweds trying to get home.
21:22Here you go, my friend.
21:23It's crazy to think that Herb and Aaron's previous house was actually sitting on top of cinder blocks.
21:28And this new one's being built with them.
21:32Since the trailer was moved out, we've maximized every minute here at the lot.
21:36Uno, dos, tres.
21:41Good.
21:42Step.
21:43All right, Zach, we are officially blocked.
21:48You know what the best part is?
21:49What?
21:50We still have time for breakfast.
21:51Let's get out.
21:52Let's go.
21:53Now that we're officially done with concrete, we can move on to lumber.
21:55So bring on the trusses.
21:56Hey, Walt, we're looking good up here.
21:57Yeah, it came together really good.
21:58Now that the trusses are done, interior walls are done, we are decking the roof.
22:10Decking is putting plywood on top of the trusses, put a felt underlayment down, then the shingles, and then we can get our trades in.
22:17We can get our plumbers, electricians, HVAC, and we'll also avoid the rain and the heat.
22:21Oh, look, there's the landscapers.
22:31Hey, how are you doing, Erin?
22:32Hi.
22:33How did we know that you would be in the garden?
22:36Every chance I get.
22:37I love it.
22:38We come out every week, because I am very big about taking care of the yard and mowing, because this is where I come to be with Kaylee.
22:47We got windows going in, electricians are in there right now.
22:51Herb and Erin, the newlyweds.
22:53Before we get to business, we got to talk about that is beautiful.
22:59Wedding was fantastic.
23:01The venue was really beautiful.
23:03The dancing was fun.
23:04Couldn't have asked for better weather.
23:05It was a really good time.
23:06You've got a lot going on, commuting from Orlando.
23:09We want to just get done and be in.
23:10We need to make some selections today.
23:12So we're talking about these columns that we want to kind of dress up, right?
23:15Originally, thinking kind of stone on the bottom.
23:17Yes.
23:18And then kind of cedar wrapping the top part.
23:20All right, so same size, same style, just a little bit more of a contrast.
23:25I think I like the lighter ones.
23:27The top one.
23:28Yeah?
23:29The top one, yeah.
23:30That's the winner.
23:31Second decision, but hardest decision.
23:32Yeah.
23:33What do you want to wrap the columns with?
23:35Y'all got choices.
23:36Are any speaking to you?
23:37Yeah.
23:38I don't know that I like the colors, because that gives it a painted feel.
23:43We want wood that looks like wood.
23:44Okay.
23:45Ooh.
23:46That's kind of darker, but it almost shows the graining a little bit more.
23:52That's your cedar look.
23:54That's too yellow.
23:55I'm not really liking those.
23:57Do you have any more?
23:58I'm not really filling the whites.
24:00This is obviously going to be too dark.
24:04We're almost at the end of the box here.
24:06I'm not really liking any of these.
24:08Really?
24:09Yeah.
24:10Nothing?
24:11Mm-hmm.
24:12Hmm.
24:17I don't envision any of these colors on the columns.
24:21Hmm.
24:22I think I need something a little bit different.
24:24I definitely don't have any more stain samples.
24:27What do you mean by difference?
24:28I wanted to keep it as natural as possible.
24:32Do you want to see the grain?
24:34I do want to see the grains, but I don't necessarily want it covered by stain.
24:39Huh.
24:40Okay.
24:41So there is a technique that we can do, a method to burn the wood.
24:45Are you talking about Shoshikibon?
24:47That's the word.
24:48Have y'all ever heard of this?
24:50No.
24:51It's basically keeping the wood the same, but we are going to use a tool to kind of torch the wood.
24:57I don't have a sample of it today, but I'm pretty confident you're going to love it because it'll kind of give you more movement.
25:04It's not going to look like it was painted.
25:05It's not going to look like you put product on the natural element.
25:09I think that is a really neat sounding idea.
25:12I'm nervous.
25:13How do you erase it if you don't like it?
25:15No.
25:16No.
25:17We're...
25:18No erasing.
25:19There's no erasing.
25:20Yeah, once the technique is done, it's done.
25:24I'm not much of a gambler, but I take some risks with some things.
25:28I'm more worried about her, so if she's happy, I'm happy.
25:31I want to do it.
25:32Yeah?
25:33Okay.
25:34I trust you.
25:35You're in good hands.
25:36We'll make sure, because this house is going to be one of a kind.
25:38I'm excited for that.
25:39Yeah, very cool.
25:40What we didn't tell them, though, is this is our first time ever doing Shashuggy Bond.
25:44It looks great.
25:45We know what the end result is going to be, right?
25:47We just have to hope that Herb and Aaron are happy with the end result.
25:51They will be.
25:52They better be.
25:54All right, guys.
25:55We'll see you.
25:56Bye!
25:57I'm excited for them.
25:58It's kind of obvious what we should do for a special project.
26:01I mean, they were in the garden when we got here.
26:03We got you a special project in that garden.
26:05Totally.
26:06I have an idea.
26:07All right.
26:08It is so nice and peaceful back here.
26:12Aaron was telling us the significance about this garden.
26:15Yeah.
26:16How she honors and remembers her daughter.
26:18Yeah.
26:19It ties into the ritual they have of doing a garden every year on her birthday.
26:24Yeah.
26:25Pardon the pun, but what if we did a herb garden?
26:28Oh, man.
26:29It would still be Aaron's, too.
26:30Okay.
26:31You did just give me an idea.
26:32What if we did something where they could have some herbs, some flowers, some plants,
26:37but protected like in a greenhouse?
26:39So no insects?
26:40No insects?
26:41No deer?
26:42Yeah.
26:43We got to find the perfect place for it.
26:45Somewhere over here would be nice because I feel like it's almost center of all the existing
26:49gardens she has in place, and you'll be able to see it from the house.
26:51I love it.
26:52All right.
26:53This is going to be great.
26:54Yeah.
26:55Today, we've got drywall going in, which is really when you see the interior start to
27:10take shape.
27:11And then we can start in the design phase.
27:13We're moving along super quick on this one.
27:23So have you ever built a greenhouse before?
27:24I can't say that I have.
27:25I've been in one before.
27:27It's a busy day at Herb and Aaron's house.
27:29We've got tile getting installed, cabinets going in, and we're building our special project.
27:34We have a problem.
27:35The ground's not level.
27:36Of course it's not.
27:37Because it's sloping towards the woods.
27:40And if we want to start this thing today, we're going to have to level this ground somehow.
27:46I mean, how much drop do you think, how much drop do you think we have here?
27:51Well, in 12, in 12, it's got what, 12 feet long?
27:54It's 12 feet.
27:55It's 12 feet wide.
27:56Yeah, at least 8 inches or 10 inches of drop.
27:58I think so, too.
27:59Jeez.
28:00So we've scheduled the greenhouse to not only start today, but also finish today.
28:03The rest of our timeline is completely booked.
28:06What's up, fellas?
28:07You look perplexed.
28:08Oh, hey, man.
28:09Yeah, we're having a meeting of the minds.
28:11Do you want to watch?
28:12Sure.
28:13So we're doing a greenhouse as a special project for Herb and Aaron.
28:17Problem is, it slopes down about 10 to 12 inches.
28:20It's got to be leveled.
28:21We've got to get it somehow graded and get it built today.
28:24And you two are going to do this by hand.
28:26That's one of the options.
28:28I've got an idea.
28:29I'll be right back.
28:30He's got an idea.
28:31I know.
28:32Yeah.
28:33I don't know if that's a good thing or bad.
28:34We'll find out soon.
28:35Well, you know what?
28:36I think we should get started while he's got an idea.
28:37That's the front.
28:38This is the front.
28:39So put one right here, a flag there, and then we'll go eight feet over.
28:43Eight feet by 12 feet, right?
28:44Yeah.
28:45Go that way a little bit.
28:46There you go.
28:47Right there.
28:48Gosh.
28:49Hey, this really does drop a lot.
28:50Yeah, it does.
28:51This special project is proving to be a lot more work than what I thought it was going
28:57to be.
28:58But I just keep thinking back to Aaron and how much this greenhouse is going to mean to
29:02her.
29:03And it's all going to be worth it.
29:05You hear that?
29:06Yeah.
29:07What is that?
29:08You hear that?
29:09Yeah.
29:10What is that?
29:16You hear that?
29:17Yeah.
29:18What is that?
29:20Hey, he did have an idea.
29:22Whoo.
29:23Whoo.
29:24Just in time.
29:25Hey, Mark saved the day.
29:27Go.
29:28Whoo.
29:29Where'd you find this toy?
29:31At my house.
29:32I told you I live right around the corner.
29:35He wasn't kidding.
29:36He wasn't kidding.
29:38Just don't break my tractor.
29:39Thanks, Mark.
29:40All right, let's do it.
29:45That's more like it.
29:56Now it's level.
29:57It is.
29:58But guess what?
29:59Yeah.
30:00We still have to build the actual greenhouse.
30:01Oh, my gosh.
30:03Oh, gosh.
30:05All right, let's get this one in place.
30:06There we go.
30:11Looks perfect.
30:24All right, time to get our shoshugi bun on.
30:26Shoshugi bun.
30:27Say that five times fast.
30:28I don't think I could.
30:29All right, so basically we're just burning the outside of the wood.
30:32We're going to char it up a little bit.
30:33It actually makes it insect repellent.
30:35Helps fight against rot.
30:36Truthfully, we're burning the carbohydrates out of the wood,
30:38so not that it's not flammable,
30:40but it actually will make it harder to start to burn
30:42once we've done this and let it cool.
30:43I love that.
30:44Yeah, absolutely.
30:45All right, well, let's get going,
30:46because we don't have a lot of time to burn.
30:50Sounds like a hot air balloon.
30:52All right, hey, that's pretty cool.
30:54We don't have any extra.
30:57There's no extra boards?
30:58There's no extra boards, so.
31:00Now the pressure's on here.
31:03Uh-oh.
31:04Oh!
31:07All right.
31:09This one's done?
31:18This one's done.
31:19You know what I'm thinking?
31:20What's that?
31:21Before we burn all of these,
31:22I think we need to take this to the front porch
31:24to make sure it's the color that we want.
31:26Okay.
31:27The color that Aaron wants.
31:28Okay.
31:29All right, Aaron was very particular
31:30on the color of these columns, so.
31:36Oh, that looks so good.
31:37Actually, I think that's money.
31:38I think that's going to look real good.
31:39Let's burn the other ones.
31:40All right, let's do the rest.
31:47Herman Aaron's house is so close to being finished.
31:50We've got driveway and sidewalk prep happening on the exterior,
31:53as well as countertops going in on the interior.
31:56Just a few more days until we can welcome them home.
31:59Let's go.
32:08Oh, Brian, there's two more of these
32:09if you want to grab them for me.
32:10Coming.
32:11Appreciate you.
32:12I'm coming.
32:13Oh, I love a nice big double entry door.
32:16Oh, man.
32:17So we're bringing in all the furniture, all the decor,
32:19and Herb and Aaron are going to be coming home tomorrow.
32:22Oh, boy.
32:23Never moved one this big.
32:24Whoa.
32:25Herb was not exaggerating.
32:27Today was the first day that we had to carry in a Florida king-size headboard.
32:30Oh.
32:31Whoa.
32:32Might be our last time doing that as well.
32:33Oh, man.
32:35That's going to be tight.
32:36Right now?
32:37I'm out of space.
32:38You're going to have to go that way.
32:39Yeah?
32:40Yeah.
32:41Wall doesn't have much room over here.
32:42I'm stuck.
32:43If I go...
32:44I think I'm stuck there.
32:45You guys might have to go all the way around.
32:48And go through the...
32:49And go through the back.
32:50The back door.
32:51How did I know we'd be moving this more than once?
32:53Sorry.
32:54Bring it my way.
32:55Okay.
32:56Now can you get it out?
32:57No.
32:58What's the corner of the wall?
32:59I don't have time to touch up paint today.
33:00Ooh-wee.
33:01We're in.
33:02Okay.
33:03Oh.
33:04Hey!
33:05We might have just needed to place the headboard there and then build around it.
33:09It's really big.
33:10Would have been a lot easier.
33:18We got to get the girls' rooms all ready.
33:21Oh, my God.
33:22This looks better than I ever imagined.
33:25Today is a family affair.
33:27We have Jade coming after school.
33:29She's really starting to develop an eye for design.
33:31It's so cool to see her have a creative outlet.
33:34We asked her to design some patterns to use in the girls' rooms.
33:37I've got your artwork that you sent over to me, your initial designs.
33:41Jade has only seen the wallpaper as a mock-up.
33:43We've got a couple different color options.
33:45I really like the lighter, more subtle colors.
33:48I'm so excited for her to see it in person today.
33:50I feel like it ties in so nicely.
33:53Like, it's got, like, a calming feel.
33:55It really does match the room really well.
33:56So in here, we did the feature wall.
33:58Mm-hmm.
33:59But then in the other room, we've got the bedding, and we've got the window treatments.
34:03You want to go check that room out?
34:04Yeah, I already got a sneak peek, yeah.
34:05A little sneaky peek-y.
34:06This home was designed by Herb and Erin, but we wanted to make sure that Addie and Sadie feel right at home when they walk into their room.
34:12So we wanted to put a little bit of personality into it.
34:15I love that it's the same pattern that Jade designed on the wallpaper.
34:18Yeah.
34:19In a fabric.
34:20I've also got my parents helping out back, bringing that greenhouse to life.
34:23Oh, this is going to be so pretty.
34:25You ready to work your magic in there?
34:27Absolutely.
34:28Kaylee would have been turning 16.
34:30Every year, they do a garden.
34:31That's kind of already been the tradition.
34:33Yeah.
34:34This one, we wanted to elevate it.
34:35We really wanted to honor her.
34:37Do you know what all these are?
34:38This is a calathea.
34:39Oh, who doesn't know?
34:40You're reading the tag.
34:41Stop.
34:42Well, that's how you learn.
34:53Man, Sadie's going to love this.
34:55Oh, Jade's wallpaper.
34:56How's it looking over there in Addie's room?
34:59Brian?
35:00Huh?
35:01What are you doing?
35:02I'm just adding the final touches.
35:03Okay, yeah.
35:04Make sure everything looks good.
35:06Well, I'm super excited.
35:08I'm ready to be home.
35:09I'm definitely looking forward to, you know,
35:11finally being able to settle down in a new place
35:13since getting married and everything else.
35:16A bed fit for a Florida king.
35:18Ooh, this looks great.
35:21This bed is a statement piece.
35:23I love how you can kind of peek through and see the gardens.
35:25I'm really excited to get Kaylee back home
35:28and where I can hang out with her.
35:30Me too.
35:31I know it's definitely something that I know you've been missing
35:34and I've been too.
35:35I think it's time we dedicate this to Kaylee
35:38and wish her a happy 16th birthday.
35:40I agree.
35:42Oh, that's perfect.
35:43Yeah.
35:44Love it.
35:45I think I hear them rolling.
35:46Is that the moment on the roll?
35:47Oh, yeah.
35:49All right, honey.
35:50Here we go.
35:51Oh, there they are.
35:52Ah!
35:54Finally returning home.
35:56Doll.
35:57I was definitely not expecting that.
35:58I was definitely not expecting that.

36:06I love the wood.
36:07The color, it pops perfect.
36:09Oh, wow.
36:10Oh, that's amazing.
36:11That is gorgeous.
36:12Welcome back.
36:13Hi.
36:14Oh, my gosh.
36:15Honey, look.
36:16You're racing.
36:17Slow down there, Happy.
36:18She's about to run.
36:19Hey.
36:20How you doing?
36:21You guys look good walking down the aisle together.
36:22Well, thank you.
36:23Again.
36:24They've had a little practice since we first met, right?
36:27Oh, it's beautiful.
36:28It is absolutely beautiful.
36:29It's awesome.
36:30I think my favorite feature, the Shaggy behind.
36:33Oh, it looks great.
36:34Doesn't it?
36:35And you didn't burn the house.
36:37Look at the door, too.
36:38Oh, my God.
36:39All the colors are fantastic.
36:41We do have this double entry that's, like, calling our name to go in.
36:45Shall we go check it out?
36:46Yes.
36:47Absolutely.
36:48All right.
36:49Keep up.
36:50I'm trying.
36:51It's official.
36:53Welcome home.
36:54The newlyweds are home.
36:56Oh, my God.
36:57Beautiful.
36:58Mika, can you carry me through now?
37:01Maybe a piggyback.
37:02Wow.
37:03Look at that.
37:04Wow.
37:05Holy moly.
37:07Love the beans.
37:08That is beautiful.
37:10Yeah.
37:11This is pretty awesome.
37:12What do you want to explore first?
37:13The kitchen.
37:14I knew it.
37:15Sparkling better.
37:16Right after you.
37:17Just follow the sparkles.
37:18I am watching the sparkles.
37:20See?
37:21Love that.
37:22Oh, my gosh.
37:23It's so pretty.
37:25Look at those lights.
37:26Oh, yeah.
37:27They look great.
37:28Those are beautiful.
37:29Hey!
37:31Oh, my God.
37:32That's so cool.
37:33That's awesome.
37:34I think there's plenty of storage space.
37:35Look at all that.
37:37Let's check out this room over here.
37:39Oh, look at that.
37:40Oh, wow.
37:41Look at that.
37:42Love this.
37:43That's awesome.
37:44I think it was a smart move to do carpet.
37:46Because you're right.
37:47If the ball goes over here, we don't have any breakage.
37:50Yep.
37:51All right.
37:52Moment of truth.
37:54Hey!
37:55Oh!
37:56You got one.
37:57Not bad.
37:58Stripes.
37:59Nice work.
38:00No, we do still have a lot of house to see.
38:02You guys were so excited to see the kitchen.
38:04We skipped right over the great room.
38:06Every room is great.
38:07Ah!
38:08That's a good answer.
38:09It's exactly what we wanted.
38:11And you've got a really nice gathering area for the family.
38:14And, uh...
38:15You saw those doors?
38:16What are you pointing at?
38:17Those doors.
38:18More show Shuggie Bond.
38:19Follow the Shuggie Bond.
38:20Yeah.
38:21Go check out that office space.
38:22And appropriately sized, too.
38:24Yeah.
38:25Look at those handles.
38:26That is so cool.
38:28I love that window.
38:30That is awesome.
38:31Plenty of light.
38:33And then for the bedrooms, we wanted to make sure to kind of do that split floor plan and give the girls kind of a retreat.
38:39And that's a barrier between the girls.
38:40There's a barrier.
38:41So shall we go check that out?
38:43Absolutely.
38:44Okay, let's go.
38:45Oh, wow.
38:47Look at this.
38:48Oh, it's beautiful.
38:49Oh, this is awesome.
38:50I love that.
38:51She's gonna love that wallpaper.
38:53Well, I can't even take credit.
38:55Our daughter, Jade, she did a design aesthetic.
38:57Very cool.
38:58That is so sweet.
39:00That's awesome.
39:01She did a fantastic job.
39:02I love that.
39:03Jade wanted to make sure that she also, um, lent some of her creativity into Addie's room as well.
39:08Oh, yeah.
39:09Okay.
39:10Let's check it out.
39:11All right.
39:12Oh, super cute.
39:14I see the curtains and the pillows.
39:18Oh, yeah.
39:19Very cool.
39:20Yeah.
39:21I think it's time for us to show the Florida King and the Florida Queen their bed.
39:26Ooh, yeah.
39:27Shall we?
39:28Oh, look, honey.
39:31Oh, I love that.
39:34That is stinking cute.
39:36That's awesome.
39:37Too cool.
39:38Oh, our bedroom's back.
39:41Oh, there it is.
39:42I haven't seen you in a while.
39:43I can't wait.
39:44We have missed it.
39:45A lot of light, too.
39:46I like it.
39:47Oh, yeah.
39:48Oh, this is a really nice main sweep.
39:50The other part is in this bathroom.
39:53Nope.
39:54Wow.
39:55I love it.
39:57Oh, my God.
39:59That looks amazing.
40:00Go ahead.
40:01Go ahead and try it in.
40:03Honey, look.
40:04Oh, my God.
40:05Oh, my God.
40:06I love the pebbles all the way.
40:08I mean, if you have a massive bed, you need a massive shower to go with it, right?
40:11Absolutely.
40:12Oh, my God.
40:13It's so great.
40:14Look at this mirror.
40:15A lot of light.
40:16Absolutely.
40:17Another spot on your property that we added a little bit of light is in your backyard,
40:20and it's an extra special project that Meek and I worked on.
40:23We're looking forward to showing you.
40:25Beautiful.
40:26Look at this face.
40:27Oh, wow.
40:28I can't help but see that.
40:31I figured you would spot that pretty quickly.
40:35Erin, slow down.
40:36Wait for the rest of us.
40:37Hold up.
40:38Hey, I see what you mean.
40:39She does walk fast.
40:40I told you.
40:41That is so pretty.
40:42And it's got flowers in it already.
40:44Oh, yeah.
40:45We need a head start.
40:46We need a head start, but I know you'll add on.
40:48You guys, I love it.
40:50We dedicated it to Kaylee and her memory.
40:53This is her sweet 16 birthday present, so.
40:57That is so sweet.
40:59Yep.
41:00Yeah.
41:02Hope you can reminisce of all the great times you shared with her.
41:05I love it.
41:06Thank you guys so much.
41:07That is so sweet.
41:09She would absolutely love the greenhouse.
41:12She wanted to create a flower garden, so that was probably a big motivation
41:16behind starting these gardens for her as little gifts.
41:19Do you see all the butterflies flying around?
41:21Yes.
41:22They're everywhere.
41:23I don't feel like that's coincidence.
41:24Look at them all.
41:25Oh, they're playing.
41:26That's not a coincidence.
41:27No, it's not.
41:28Now she can overlook these gardens and her butterflies.
41:31Like, this is my tangible way of loving her.
41:35And the gift is her flowers, the smells, and the butterflies.
41:40It's beautiful.
41:41Oh, we're glad you like it.
41:42Well, since you ran out here so fast, can we at least show you the back porch?
41:45Oh, yeah.
41:46Yes.
41:47How relaxing is this back here?
41:49Oh, man.
41:50I love that.
41:51Outdoor living room.
41:52So great.
41:53Outdoor dining room.
41:54You were living here in a double wide.
41:56Now you've got three bedrooms, you've got three bathrooms, plus an office, plus a pool table
42:01room.
42:02It's right at 2,700 square feet and it's within your budget of $600,000.
42:07Thank you so much for trusting us in the process and it's been so great working with you.
42:10And the same.
42:11Thank you guys so much.
42:12Yeah, thank you guys.
42:13So it's going to be beautiful to finally just be settled and start new memories with the nieces.
42:20This just kind of makes everything here fresh.
42:22Like, nobody else has ever lived in this house.
42:24No one else has ever been here except us.
42:26So it's definitely gives us a new place to start.
42:30Nice.
42:31Ooh.
42:33There you go.
42:34Told you you're getting better already.
42:36What vegetables do you think we need?
42:38Carrots and I'm going to say lettuce.
42:42Let's see if this fits.
42:45I think that is stinking adorable.
42:47Oh my goodness.
42:49I love this purple color.
42:51Me too.
42:52It's very vibrant.
42:53It is.
42:54I dig it literally.
