Runaway emu leaves Ohio police department baffled

00:12after it ran away from its owner on Friday, October 17th, 2025.

00:18Body camera footage show the deputies locked in a standoff with the native Australian bird,

00:23using dog catcher poles to herd and corral the bird.

00:26The Guernsey County Sheriff's Office released a statement later,

00:30praising the efforts of the officers who were able to manage the situation successfully.

00:35In all seriousness, the deputies handled the situation with skill and professionalism,

00:40proving they can tackle just about anything, whether it's a serious incident or a wayward emu,
