00:00It was just blindsided us. We were away, came home and they tell us that we're
00:05going to have batteries which is just unbelievable in this area.
00:10It's right across our boundary fence so yeah we don't know what it's going to do
00:13for our asset value, environmental value and all those things.
00:17The unknowns associated with these batteries, what the long-term effects likely to be on the land
00:23and the immediate health impacts on ourselves and the animals, we're just totally in the dark
00:29of what's involved. I think when you consider the Latrobe Valley, the transitioning that's
00:35occurring down there at the moment where they're stepping out of brown coal and they're looking for
00:40alternate forms of future employment and alternate forms of electricity, I think it makes logical sense
00:47from an investment perspective, from a planning perspective, from a risk mitigation perspective
00:52that they belong in the Latrobe Valley. That will help that community and it also minimises the risk
00:59and allows us to continue on producing good food and good milk out of this area.
01:06We've spoken to Borborshire Council, we have their unanimous support. We've spoken to our local
01:12members of the state and then also at federal level. We do have their support for pushing back
01:17on these proposals in this area. Shady Creek says no.
