00:00Well, it's kind of mixed news. The headline 48.7 is down from 49.1 last month, and it doesn't match up with the expected rise in the Economist survey.
00:09But prices paid a little lower, 58 even, down from 61.9.
00:14New orders are up to 49.4, still contraction, but better than 48.9 last month.
00:19And employment 46, that's a little bit better than 45.3 that we had in the month of September.
00:27But again, it does suggest contraction.
00:30And of course, any information we get on the labor market these days gets absorbed pretty quickly by the markets.
00:37Imports, 45.4, up from 44.7.
00:40We're obviously watching that to see if companies are trying to bring in more stuff.
00:45And I guess they're bringing in a little more stuff, but we don't know what the price situation is on that.
00:51We're not getting import prices these days.
00:53So overall, kind of a mixed report, but still not good for the overall manufacturing economy.
00:59There was hope we saw a little bit of a rebound in October, but according to the ISM, we didn't.
