07:14to come up with a naked figure of a male
07:18to represent one's offering to the nation.
07:22Alam naman natin that during that particular period,
07:26slowly, we were finding our place as a democracy
07:31within the Asia-Pacific region.
07:33And for someone who was educated in the United States
07:37than in Europe,
07:38he experienced this idea of
07:41parang mas universal, global sense
07:47of what it is to be a democracy.
07:49And he wanted to somehow encapsulate that
07:52within a figure.
07:54And the naked figure somehow embodies
07:57yung parang an acceptance of this challenge and role.
08:03But at the same time, it also acknowledges fragility
08:06kasi naked nga siya.
08:08So the original figure was actually completely nude.
08:12Naging usap-usapan noon na si Fernando Pau Senior,
08:17tanyag na artista noon at ama ni FPJ,

11:39Ayon dito sa libro ay tinawag si Tolentino na Filipino Rodan dahil sa kanyang mastery ng nudes.
11:49So makita natin dito yung ibang klaseng pose ng mga nude ni Tolentino.
12:01Hindi tabu para kay Tolentino yung gumawa ng mga nude drawing at sculpture.
12:16Nasa ilalim pa rin tayo ng mga Amerikano noong ipinalagay ang dahon.
12:20Pati ang simbolo ng pangarap ng mga Pilipino na maging malaya noong 1935 ay naging biktima rin ng censorship.
12:35Siyang napot taon ang nakalipas, mas malaya na ba talaga tayo ngayon?
12:40Ang Alpha Phi Omega o APO ay isang malaking fraternity sa bansa.
12:55Dito sa UP Diliman, sila ang nagsimula at nagpapatuloy ng oblation run bilang pagpapahayag ng kanilang paninindigan sa mga isyong panlipunan.

15:35What does it symbolize today, yung ablation run?
15:38It symbolize po yung tapang, tapang ng mga members namin.
15:44Naharapin yung mga issues ng bansa na kinakaarap.
15:48Ano yung last time?
15:50Last time po, since 2025 po ay local elections.
15:55So we focused on voting wisely, not yung vote buying.
16:02We need to be more aware sa mga social issues
16:04Dahil kinabukasan natin yung namin yung nakasalalay.
16:10Kung hayaan namin na tuloy-tuloy lang yung status quo.
16:16Kailangan i-call out natin yun na bilang kabataan,
16:20bilang part ng the next generation.
16:23Hindi lang para sa future natin,
16:26para sa future generations na mabubuhay dito sa society natin.
16:30Noong nilikha ang oblation, dinidibati pa ang kinabukasan ng bayan.
16:38May mga moderno tulad ng Tolentino.
16:41Kaya sinubukan niyang gumawa ng ribulto ng Pilipino
16:45na walang mali siyang nakalantad ang pagkalalaki.
16:49Hindi nga lang nakalampas sa mga konserbatibo.
16:52Pumunta ako sa National Museum sa Maynila
17:02para mas kilalanin si Guillermo Tulentino.
17:06So, here in the National Museum, we take pride of our national artists here in the Philippines,
17:15especially here in the National Museum of Fine Arts.
17:18We take pride in preserving and also making sure na nakikita ng mga tao.
17:23So, we have rooms specifically made for Amor Solo.
17:30And also, hindi mawawala in terms of sculpture, si Tolentino.
17:34As a national artist for sculpture.
17:36And dito natin makikita yung sari-saring talents niya.
17:41Obviously, alam natin na mahusay siyang sculptor.
17:44Pero ang pagkakilala sa kanya ng maraming siguro ay dahil sa oblation.
17:49Pero ito, ang karamihan dito ay mga busts.
17:52So, bakit siya gumawa ng maraming busts?
17:56So, he does a lot of busts.
17:57Kasi, most of these images, ano siya eh, of major political figures, of major figures throughout history.
