00:04:42And it felt to me at that point in time, when obviously Rollins, it was when Rollins was building the Cody,

00:04:46and Punk said, like, I'm keeping an eye on that.

00:04:48I'll be waiting, yeah.

00:04:50So Rollins wasn't injured.

00:04:52Presumably, as we all heard about, like that Vision War Games match was expected to go ahead.

00:04:57It sounds the reason that if this was going to be Punk-Rollins,

00:05:01you weren't going to get a finish, and it was going to set up War Games.

00:05:03Yes, exactly.

00:05:04Like, and then Netflix end of year finale, whatever, they were going to have this one last title match,

00:05:10and that would finally draw a line under Seth Rollins and CM Punk.

00:05:13So because this is pivot stuff, I just have a feeling that Jay, so as the guy they've slotted in place,

00:05:21because it has suited the storyline he's on, and the little journey he's on,

00:05:25is this guy trying to buy himself as a top star, and, you know, not belittle Roman Reigns,

00:05:32and not be the guy that relies on others.

00:05:33He's almost trying to sell it to himself, but in the process, he's kind of turning heel a little bit.

00:05:37Meanwhile, if CM Punk is to win the world title, fine, and there's a, you know,

00:05:43a bit of a, like, redemption act for him because of what happened at SummerSlam,

00:05:47but it's not the real redemption, is it?

00:05:49It's the revenge on Seth Rollins, and he did as much that world title.

00:05:52And I think CM Punk with the world championship at this time of year will wobble all of us,

00:05:56that then the Cody Rhodes match might disappear further off into the distance.

00:05:59Well, this is the thing, yeah, I saw people on X saying if Punk wins the title on Saturday,

00:06:03does that affect your excitement for Punk versus Cody?

00:06:08And I'd say no.

00:06:10Like,

00:06:10There's an element of the Stephanie Vakare thing, though, because we all thought

00:06:14that they'd save that.

00:06:15Well, what I mean by that is I think Punk, if they do have him win on Saturday, for example,

00:06:20I think he holds the title for a bit and drops it, and probably before the end of the year,

00:06:24at the very least, to then punch his ticket to WrestleMania via the Chamber or the Rumble.

00:06:31I still think the Rumble should be Sami Zayn's, but I can't really picture what his WrestleMania

00:06:35match looks like right now.

00:06:37Nevertheless, yeah, I think Punk could have held the title from SummerSlam to now,

00:06:42and it still wouldn't affect my excitement for Punk and Cody,

00:06:45because that's a whole different kettle of fish, isn't it?

00:06:49It's the, like, it's the more-to-do CM Punk festival.

00:06:53He's still not yet main-evented night two, as good as main event night one was.

00:06:58He's still not won the WWE title or had the feud with Cody Rhodes, as good as winning the

00:07:02world title was.

00:07:03I agree with that, but I just, it's a strange time to put the title on CM Punk.

00:07:08Not that there is a perfect, exacting precedent for this, but I reckon Mardy, often, this time

00:07:17of year, was a time for heels or experiments to hold titles.

00:07:20Yes.

00:07:22There's two world titles, so you can kind of always have a bit of both.

00:07:24Me and Andy spoke about this on the other day with regards to LA night, actually.

00:07:28Yeah, yeah.

00:07:29And Jeyusa sort of fits in that category more than Punk.

00:07:32Yeah.

00:07:33Because you are doing a bit of an experimental heel role with him.

00:07:35And nobody would have forecast that he would have had the title a second time after Gunther

00:07:38beat him.

00:07:39You kind of thought, all right, they tried that, where do they go next to him?

00:07:42And now he's one match away from hitting the belt again.

00:07:45So there's, what I like about this is the conversation we're having.

00:07:48There are kind of rational arguments for both.

00:07:50And I guess I'm trying to present a rational argument for a third option where nobody wins

00:07:54it, you know.

00:07:55Like, if they, and this could go on first, or this could go on last, and you can get the

00:07:59same finish.

00:07:59I am not saying this as somebody advocating for it.

00:08:03But hypothetically, if Brock Lesnar just came out and took them both out, and that's

00:08:08to tee up some sort of War Games thing where Punk and Jeyusa have to get back on the same

00:08:12side and be on the same babyface team for War Games against the jacked-up vision that

00:08:16we've talked about, where Brock's joining forces with the Bronnies and whatever.

00:08:20Ethan Page, Ricky Sains.

00:08:21Yeah, Austin Theory, Chris, and whatever.

00:08:23The queue of people that you've got in your vision special guest line or whatever, whoever

00:08:26turns up in that team.

00:08:27If that's the plan, it still does feel like the plan that there was talk of a Roman Reigns

00:08:32CM Punk co-captain's deal.

00:08:34That could be an option, you know.

00:08:35Paul Heyman takes a look at it, doesn't really like it, is resentful of the fact that Brom

00:08:38Breaker and Bronson Reed didn't get a shot at it.

00:08:41And he's like, well, you know what?

00:08:42Piers, you ruined my night with that Battle Royal, so I'm going to ruin yours on your

00:08:45big main event.

00:08:46You could put that on first because you're sending the fans home happy with Cody and

00:08:49Drew, or you could put it on last because it would be the biggest talking point.

00:08:53When I was thinking about, like, Jey Uso cheating to win the title with the help of

00:08:57Jimmy or something like that, or like you say, this no result thing, I didn't think it

00:09:02being such a monumental thing like a Brock Lesnar return again, which people might not

00:09:07like it, would be a huge talking point.

00:09:10You know, he's just, I don't like this any more than anybody else, but he's just appeared

00:09:14literally sat next to CM Punk in a WrestleMania poster.

00:09:16Like, you have to accept that reality.

00:09:19Yeah, and that's how he can factor into your booking, even if you, and I say the general

00:09:24you, because I don't like it.

00:09:25Like, he's on the WrestleMania poster.

00:09:27It's time to stop pretending that he's not going to feature prominently in storylines,

00:09:30and this would be him featuring prominently in a storyline.

00:09:34Who would be your four, if they did, and they should do, a women's version of that?
