00:00Welcome to the new video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04This time, we're talking about the revised Nissan Koshkei e-Power Facelift,
00:08which is not only quieter and more efficient, but also smoother overall than its predecessors.
00:14The Koshkei has been an integral part of the Nissan model range for almost two decades,
00:19and since 2021, it has been rolling off the production line in a version with full hybrid
00:24technology. With the facelift for the 2026 model year, the successful model is now presented with
00:31even more refinement, especially in terms of technology, as hardly anything has changed
00:35externally. The new Koshkei comes with a three-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of
00:421.5L, which does not directly drive the wheels, but acts as a generator for the electric motor.
00:47This so-called serial hybrid system, which Nissan calls e-p-power, remains essentially the same,
00:54but has been significantly further developed. The entire drive unit is housed in a common housing,
01:01which reduces vibrations and at the same time reduces the overall weight by around 28kg.
01:08This has made it possible to eliminate the need for a transmission and clutch,
01:12resulting in a simpler, more efficient and, above all, quieter drive concept.
01:17Power is transmitted either directly from the petrol engine to the electric motor or via a small
01:22lithium-ion battery with a capacity of around 2 kWh. The combination of improved efficiency of the
01:31combustion engine, reduced speed and noticeably better noise insulation ensures greater comfort
01:36in the interior. Nissan promises not only less noise, but also significantly lower fuel consumption.
01:44According to the WLTP cycle, the new Koshkei should consume just 4.5L per 100km.
01:52That is around 1L less than the previous model.
01:57CO2 emissions have also been reduced from 116 to 102km, which corresponds to a reduction of 12%.
02:04The further development pays off particularly on the motorway, where consumption is said to be 14%
02:12lower than before. And in everyday use, the new drive is also said to be 16% more efficient overall.
02:21Compared to direct competitors such as the Toyota Corolla Cross,
02:24the Renault Austral or the Peugeot 3008,
02:27the new Koshkei can thus position itself at the top of its class.
02:32The system's performance has also been increased, at least in theory.
02:37While the electric motor previously produced around 190hp,
02:41the new drive system delivers 205hp.
02:45However, this additional power is only available in sport mode.
02:49In normal driving conditions, the previous performance remains the same,
02:52which is why the fuel consumption was also specified in this setting.
02:57Nissan will provide information on the actual fuel consumption in sport mode at a later date.
03:03In practice, the most noticeable thing is how quiet and confident the new Koshkei is.
03:09The loud, often somewhat gruff character of previous generations is history.
03:14Instead, the new model presents itself as extremely refined, almost like a limousine.
03:19The all-wheel drive with which older versions were still equipped for occasional excursions off-road is long gone.
03:29Today, comfort is the focus, and this is reflected in the improved infotainment system,
03:34which is a real asset, especially on longer journeys.
03:40Nissan claims a maximum range of around 1,200 kilometers,
03:44which seems rather optimistic considering the small battery and realistic consumption figures.
03:49On the outside, little has changed.
03:54The most noticeable innovations are the redesigned mirror flaps,
03:57a one-piece front apron and the 17-inch rims that are now standard.
04:02The overall look, however, remains familiar, modern, somewhat bulky and with a clear SUV character.
04:08In the interior, however, a lot has been done in terms of acoustics.
04:12Driving noise has been reduced by around 5.6 dB EL,
04:17a value that is particularly noticeable at higher speeds on the motorway.
04:23Although the chassis and steering have remained unchanged, the ride comfort is generally better.
04:30Only deep transverse grooves or larger speed bumps remind the Koshkei that it was originally designed as a robust compact SUV.
04:37And how much does the new model cost?
04:42Nissan Germany has so far remained silent on this.
04:45However, it is certain that the current model already costs around 39,000 euros without extras.
04:51When the new Koshkei power can be ordered from autumn 2025, prices are likely to rise slightly.
04:57Nevertheless, from a marketing perspective, it would be wise not to exceed the psychologically important threshold of around 40,000 euros.
05:05This is particularly true because, according to the Federal Motor Transport Authority,
05:09the Koshkei was the most registered SUV with a full hybrid drive in Germany in May of this year.
05:14With the new Koshkei power, Nissan is clearly demonstrating that it sees hybrid drive as a transitional technology.
05:21The direction is clear. Fully electric drive is the long-term goal.
05:27However, anyone who does not want to switch to a pure electric vehicle today will find a very successful interim solution in the new Koshkei.
05:35Efficient, quiet and thoroughly modern.
