00:00bmw we've always done things that put driving pleasure at the center with speed projects like

00:19this we can definitely demonstrate our technological capabilities we can also push the boundaries

00:24you just have to experience it or see it when i saw the vdx i knew wow this is going to be something

00:31really special hi guys adam butcher and the bmw vision driving experience vdx and if you are a

00:40bmw fan or simply a fan of cars in general and you've probably heard quite a lot about this

00:46already but today we're going to take a deeper dive and look at what's going on behind the scenes and

00:52inside the brains of these incredibly intelligent people actually bring this sort of technology to

00:57life there are moments when so many things come together that it's like a kind of big bang

01:05for example can you build a car with 18 000 newton meters outsmart the limits of physics

01:13and change the driving dynamics and then you call me and say hey i need next level driving pleasure

01:20and you've called me right

01:22the key is to make the sheer power of the vdx manageable and controllable

01:31of course you can only do that with a motivated competent team

01:36you also need new technologies such as innovative electric motors sophisticated aerodynamics driving

01:51dynamics tuning and also software we have the software our own development of our chassis and driving

01:58dynamics experts the heart of joy device from bmw helped us tremendously with this project

02:05the special thing about the heart of joy is that we have developed a centralized functional architecture

02:13this ensures that the functions work hand in hand with one another

02:17precisely and ultra fast besides the heart of j control unit one of my favorite parts is the battery

02:24based on the innovative high voltage storage system of the new class we have achieved an enormous level

02:29of performance in a very compact vehicle

02:34i can only say that with this vehicle bmw has shown that the well-known slogan

02:38sheer driving pleasure is more than just empty talk

02:44for us the vdx is the it leap forward with this vehicle we demonstrate our passion

02:50the people working on it know how a car should drive they know how to generate joy

02:57and that helps us make the next technological leaps and incorporate these findings into series

03:01production will it go into series production like this i would say quite clearly no but the

03:08control system involved the know-how that ultimately enhances the driving experience that will definitely come

03:14we gathered insights there into how to generate higher performance and greater energy density with the

03:20same robustness and quality and that flows back into the new class they say the vdx redefines the

03:27boundaries of physics i have no doubt that customers will experience just as much enthusiasm with the new

03:33class and who knows if we lay the foundation now who knows what will come next

03:36bmw vision driving experience may feel like set two steps ahead or from a feature film in the 2050s

03:47but the technology is being realized right now today and it's bringing a lot of joy

03:53and i guess that's what true innovation is really all about
