08:46The wind, the water, cities and people.
08:52So the question is, what is the sound of the BMW Neuklasse?
08:57Sound plays a crucial role in shaping our connection to vehicles,
09:02transforming silent machines into emotional experiences.
09:05But what lies behind the vision of the new driving sounds, the Hypersonics?
09:11With Hypersonics, we have designed an experience that goes beyond sound
09:18and embrace all the elements in the car, such as light and user interface,
09:22so that we create an holistic experience for our drivers.
09:27The idea has been to go to the core of our Sonic brand
09:31and understanding what are the elements that really define BMW.
09:36Driving pleasure has always been the core element of the BMW.
09:40The Neuklasse shows that the emotion it evokes
09:43and the reduction of complexity harmonize perfectly with each other.
09:48Now, more than ever, it focuses on the human being.
09:52Hypersonics is about a human sound experience.
09:55So what we have done, we have gathered several design colleagues into a choir.
10:02We asked them to speak about the moment of joy which they had experienced.
10:08We did record this session and we collected several samples out of this.
10:14With all these elements, we created some layers that we introduced into the welcome sound,
10:21which means that whenever a person will enter a BMW,
10:25there will be a salute and welcome with a sound that is made up of the joy of other humans.
10:32The main sorts of inspirations for our personics have been elements taken from nature,
10:48elements taken from architecture, elements taken from art,
10:53everything that was really speaking to us in a different way.
10:57We went down to understand how, for instance, a stone is made up of,
11:01how light is behaving in space,
11:05how reflections of light can bring us a moment of joy.
11:09Can we translate all of this into sounds?
11:14Yes, we can.
11:15And this is what we have tried to do in the studio.
11:18We test the sound in a driving simulator
11:21and we try to understand whether the sound in which we believe there is a potential,
11:26there is also a match what the car is giving us back.
11:30The way the sound can unfold,
11:32it's much more complex and precise as compared to the previous generation.
11:36With hypersonics, we do have different driving sounds depending on the experience.
11:42You know, the personal sound is so important because it's the everyday life soundtrack of the driving action.
11:50This sonically expands on the sport mode in which there is much more precision to be heard
12:00and the acoustic feedback is very detailed,
12:03transmitting what the car is actually doing.
12:05Hypersonics will open a new era for sound design for our BMW Neu-Klasse.

12:47und kann maĂgeblich beeinflussen, wie wir bestimmte Situationen erleben.
12:51Gerade bei Elektroautos, deren Antrieb nahezu gerÀuschlos funktioniert,
12:55spielt das Sound Design eine entscheidende Rolle,
12:57um Emotionen zu wecken und eine Verbindung zwischen Mensch und Maschine zu schaffen.
13:02BMW hat sich diesem Thema intensiv gewidmet
13:05und prĂ€sentiert mit Hyperson X ein neues Sound Design fĂŒr die Fahrzeuge der neuen Klasse,
13:10das ab Anfang 2026 erstmals mit dem BMW iX3 in Serie geht.
13:16Entwickelt wird der neue Klang von Renzo Vitale,
13:19der als Creative Director of Sound Design bei der BMW Group tÀtig ist.
13:23Zuvor arbeitete Vitale mit dem bekannten Filmkomponisten Hans Zimmer zusammen,
13:28der die bisherigen Soundwelten fĂŒr BMW Elektroautos mitgestaltet hat.
13:33FĂŒr die neue Klasse ĂŒbernimmt Vitale nun allein die Verantwortung
13:37und will mit Hyperson X die Freude am Fahren direkt in die Ohren der Insassen ĂŒbertragen.
13:42Im Video erhalten wir nicht nur erste Hörproben der neuen Klangwelten,
13:46sondern bekommen auch Einblicke in die Entwicklung des Hyperson X Sound Systems.
13:51Insgesamt wurden 43 unterschiedliche Klangzeichen entworfen,
13:55die in den Fahrmodi Personal und Sport jeweils passend zur aktuellen Fahrsituation erklingen.
14:01Diese Töne sind dabei nicht isoliert, sondern werden mit dem neuen iDrive X Infotainment System
14:07samt Panoramic Vision Display sowie passenden Lichtinszenierungen kombiniert,
14:12um ein stimmiges und immersives Gesamterlebnis zu schaffen.
14:16Die akustische Inspiration fĂŒr Hyperson X stammt aus der Natur, aber auch aus Kunst und Wissenschaft.
14:22Im Unterschied zu bisherigen Elektrosounds von BMW setzt die neue Klasse auf weniger Grundtöne,
14:29die jedoch prÀziser und tiefer wirken sollen.
14:32Möglich wird das durch ein speziell entwickeltes AudiosteuergerÀt, das die KlÀnge dynamisch an die jeweilige Fahrsituation anpasst.
14:39Vitale erklÀrt, dass Hyperson X durch seinen Fokus auf PrÀzision, WÀrme und Leichtigkeit
14:46eine direkte emotionale Verbindung zwischen Fahrer und Fahrzeug aufbauen soll
14:50und damit ein akustisches Markenzeichen fĂŒr die neue Klasse darstellt.
14:54Die ersten Fahrzeuge mit Hyperson X werden der BMW iX3 Anfang 2026 und wenig spÀter der neue BMW i3 sein.
15:04Beide basierend auf der komplett neu entwickelten Architektur der neuen Klasse.
