00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today, we're all about the new Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 Plus and EQB 250 Plus City Edition models,
00:11which were specially designed for the Australian market.
00:16With these two fully electric variants, Mercedes-Benz not only wants to appeal to city dwellers,
00:21but also to stay below the threshold for the luxury tax on efficient vehicles.
00:25This means that they can also be exempt from the fringe benefits tax,
00:31which is particularly advantageous for fleet customers and company car drivers.
00:37Both vehicles present themselves with a self-confident design and equipment designed for urban requirements.
00:44For the first time in Australia, 19-inch AMG light alloy wheels in a two-tone look are standard.
00:50In addition, there is an impressive standard package, metallic paint, a panoramic sunroof,
00:57the Keyless Go comfort package and heated front seats with memory function.
01:02These are also included, as is the M-Books infotainment system with a wide digital display,
01:08augmented reality for navigation and personalized driver profiles that can be called up using a fingerprint scanner.
01:13Other highlights include wireless charging for mobile devices,
01:19smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto,
01:22ambient lighting, digital radio and a high-quality sound system.
01:26The interior features electrically adjustable seats with covers made of Artico synthetic leather and microfiber,
01:33a multifunction steering wheel in Napper leather and numerous other comfort features.
01:38Externally, both models impress with the AMG line exterior,
01:43dark-tinted, heat-insulating glass and LED high-performance headlights,
01:47including adaptive high-beam assistant.
01:52Safety is ensured by a comprehensive driver assistance package,
01:56which includes, among other things, an active parking assistant,
01:59an active distance assistant, an active lane-keeping assistant, press and new airbags.
02:03The EQB 250 Plus also scores points with a third row of seats that can be folded flat if required,
02:12as well as a sliding second row with an adjustment range of 14 centimeters.
02:18Both models share the same drive.
02:21An electric motor delivers 191 horsepower and 385 newm of torque,
02:27powered by a battery with a capacity of 70.5 kWh.
02:30According to the outdated NEDC standard,
02:34the EQA achieves a range of up to 578 kilometers,
02:37the EQB up to 564 kilometers.
02:41However, the real values are likely to be somewhat lower.
02:45The price for the EQA 205 Plus City Edition is around 75,000 euros,
02:50while the IQB 205 Plus City Edition costs around 80,000 euros.
02:54Both models include a three-year maintenance package
02:59and one year of free charging at public charging stations from ChargeFox.
03:06Incidentally, Mercedes-Benz recently reintroduced plug-in hybrids in Australia,
03:10including the C350E with 314 horsepower,
03:14550 newm of torque and a 25.4 kWh lithium-ion battery.
03:19The price here is around 90,000 euros.
03:24So it's more for customers with a larger budget.
03:28As always, you can read the full article in the video description.

03:53Your new entry point to the Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle range.
03:57With these City Edition models,
04:02Mercedes-Benz has worked even harder to combine
04:04exceptional levels of comfort and convenience
04:06at a very sharp price point.
04:09Both of these all-electric SUVs are packed with the equipment,
04:13features, and finishes you'd normally expect to find
04:15in higher specification models.
04:18They're also designed to make everyday living easier.
04:21And of course, they're electric, which offers many advantages.
04:24These City Edition models offer exceptional value
04:29with both sitting comfortably below the luxury car tax threshold.
04:34Not only that, they include three years of scheduled servicing
04:37as part of the purchase price,
04:38plus one year of complimentary charging at ChargeFox Public Chargers.
04:45After you've watched this presentation,
04:47you'll have the opportunity to visit the Mercedes-Benz store online
04:50where you can place your order straight away.
04:52Okay, let's take a closer look at this pair of City Edition electric SUVs.
05:01The EQA 250 Plus City Edition is based on the Mercedes-Benz EQA,
05:06the all-electric compact SUV that's already won many fans.
05:12They've fallen in love with the eye-catching design
05:14and a long list of attractions,
05:16plus the chance to own and drive an urban-friendly electric vehicle every day.
05:20The onboard motor in this EQA 250 Plus model is powered by a rechargeable battery
05:27with an output of up to 140 kilowatts of power and 385 newton-meters of torque.
05:34Because all that torque is instantly available from the electric motor,
05:37it's a seriously fun car to drive.
05:40Whether it's a dash across town or on a weekend road trip,
05:43the energy stored in the battery generates an NEDC-tested driving range of 578 kilometers.
05:50For most people, that's more than enough to cover their commuting needs.
05:55There's a bit of wow factor in the design, too.
05:58Check out the high-gloss front fascia set with a constellation of twinkling stars.
06:02This sweeping light bar also adds a distinctive touch along with an AMG-influenced lower grille.
06:11These LED high-performance headlights include the handy adaptive high-beam assist feature as standard.
06:16These 19-inch AMG-10 spoke light alloy wheels are exclusive to this pair of City Edition models.
06:27They're also equipped with a comfort suspension package which is specifically tuned for a smooth and stable ride.
06:36Moving around to the tailgate, we see this full-width horizontal light array,
06:40which is a feature of the Mercedes-Benz EVs.
06:42It helps to give the EQA 250 Plus an impressive road presence.
06:49A useful feature is the easy-packed tailgate,
06:52which opens with a smooth electrical action from here or via your key fog.
06:56And if your hands are full,
06:58you can swipe a foot under the tailgate to enable convenient hands-free access.
07:05The 5-seat EQA 250 Plus offers 340 L of storage capacity.
07:10And if we drop the seats,
07:14that becomes a very handy 1320 L.
07:16Both of these all-electric SUVs include two charging cables.
07:21One for use with public AC charging,
07:23the other for standard household 240 volts plugs.
07:28You also have the option to access public DC charges
07:31for even quicker top-ups or install your own Mercedes-Benz wallbox at home.
07:35Before we take a look inside,
07:40I'll slip the car key into my pocket.
07:43Now, all I need to do to unlock the car is touch a door handle.
07:49It's a helpful feature that also works from any bag you're carrying,
07:52including a handbag,
07:53putting real convenience right at your figure,
07:56you know how you have to duck and drop into some cars or in some SUVs,
07:59you actually have to climb to get in.
08:03Something I really love about this pair of compact SUVs
08:06is the seat height is just right.
08:08Just step in and sit down.
08:14A key feature of the AMG line interior
08:16is the sport-style front seats.
08:19Very supportive and finished in a smart combo
08:21of artificial man-made leather and microfiber.
08:24They're also heated and offer electronic memory settings.
08:30Then there's this AMG-inspired multifunction sports steering wheel
08:33in perforated napper leather with contrasting red stitching.
08:37It has a nice chunky rim,
08:39plus two rows of handy controllers right where you need the most.
08:47These stunning twin digital screens offer access
08:50to all of the vehicle and functional information that you need.
08:54That includes a dedicated EV display
08:56to help you get the most out of all electric driving.
09:01It also integrates the incredibly versatile MBUX infotainment system
09:05offering intuitive control over navigation,
09:08entertainment, phones, vehicle functions, and more.
09:13There are clever features everywhere you look.
09:16Smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto.
09:21Wireless charging for compatible devices.
09:24A fingerprint scanner to access individual driver settings.
09:28Three-zone climate control.
09:30Stunning, ambient lighting with a choice of 64 colors.
09:35And just look at the way this incredible panoramic sliding sunroof
09:38opens up the cabin.
09:41Aesthetically, there are surprise and delight features
09:44everywhere you look,
09:45such as these turbine-inspired air vents,
09:47the illuminated star pattern trim,
09:49and lashings of sporty red top stitching.
09:57Crucially, both of these all-electric City Edition models
10:00are packed with standard safety equipment.
10:03That includes nine airbags and distronic active cruise control,
10:07which can adjust your vehicle's speed to match the traffic in front.
10:10There's also an advanced parking package,
10:14including a 360 degrees camera,
10:16plus a range of other active and passive safety assistants.
10:21It's all designed to offer multiple levels of protection
10:24and peace of mind every time you drive.
10:26Now, let's meet the Mercedes-Benz EQB 250-plus City Edition.
10:34Pretty much everything we've just learned about the EQA
10:37applies to both models.
10:40That includes the refined all-electric drivetrain
10:42with an NEDC-tested driving range of 564 kilometers.
10:46And the incredible standard equipment list,
10:51plus high-quality finishes
10:52and a suite of standard safety systems.
10:56But the EQB 250-plus City Edition
10:59also has some uniquely impressive attributes
11:01that could make a compelling case
11:03to find a home in your driveway.
11:05As you can see,
11:07it definitely goes its own way
11:08in terms of styling and packaging.
11:12A key difference is this distinctive squared of roofline,
11:15adding a whole new dimension of space inside
11:18for both people and cargo.
11:20As a result,
11:21the EQB 250-plus has a third row of seating as standard,
11:25lifting the total seat count to seven.
11:28For some families,
11:29that's a game-changer.
11:32In the second row,
11:33we also discover another versatile feature,
11:36140 millimeters of sliding seat adjustment.
11:40That makes it quick and easy
11:41to distribute space to where it's most needed.
11:45That's great news,
11:46particularly for growing families.
11:49But the EQB 250-plus City Edition
11:51is also an inspired choice
11:53for anyone who needs lots of storage space,
11:55but doesn't need the fuel bills
11:56and parking hassles
11:57of owning a much larger vehicle.
12:01Let's say you're an active person
12:03or someone who makes a lot of trips
12:04to the hardware store.
12:05You could drop all of the seats
12:08and take full advantage
12:09of up to 1620L of space.
12:13With its flat floor,
12:14tall roof,
12:15and large tailgate opening,
