00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today we're talking about the brand new DS No. 8, the latest premium SUV coupe from DS Automobiles.
00:11With the DS No. 8, the French brand is not only introducing a new model, but also a new nomenclature.
00:18The name alone indicates where things are headed.
00:22More models with this designation will follow in the future.
00:25Inspired by the famous perfume Chanel No. 5, this reference is deliberate and is intended to underline the high standards of the DS brand.
00:34DS currently only offers one electric car, the DS3 Crossback E10.
00:39But the DS No. 8 is now significantly expanding the range.
00:44Even the entry-level version of the DS No. 8 FWD Palace starts at just under €58,000 and impresses with its extensive standard equipment.
00:52This includes, among other things, multi-colored ambient lighting, heated ergonomic seats, 19-inch aluminum rims and acoustic glazing, which ensure a particularly quiet driving experience.
01:04Those looking for even more features and technology can opt for the top of the range DS No. 8 AD Long Range A12 model, which starts at around €75,000.
01:15This model not only offers all-wheel drive, but also highlights such as the DS Luminar screen on the front of the vehicle and the DS Drive Assist 2.0 assistance system.
01:24An exclusive special edition rounds off the range.
01:30The Jules collection with its elegant dark blue interior made of Napper leather and Alcantara as well as a special No. 8 badge with a diamond costs around €77,000.
01:41Visually, the DS No. 8 is very similar to the Aerosport Lounge concept car that caused the sensation four years ago.
01:48Although some playful elements such as the display integration in the radiator grille had to make way for series production,
01:56many design features such as the characteristic Clued Paris pattern have been retained.
02:01At around 4.8 meters long, the SUV is significantly larger than a VW Tiguan.
02:06It is around 1.6 meters high and around 1.9 meters wide without exterior mirrors.
02:14The wheels are available in sizes between 19 and 21 inches, always with aerodynamically optimized rims.
02:21At market launch, there will be three versions to choose from with front wheel or all-wheel drive and outputs between 230 and 350 horsepower.
02:29Two battery sizes with 74 and slightly more than 97 cat hours enable ranges of between approximately 527 and around 750 kilometers according to the WLTP standard.
02:44The electric SUV is based on the STRA medium platform of the Stellantis Group, which is also used in the new Jeep Compass.
02:51The charging capacity of up to 160 kilowatts allows the battery to be charged from 20 to 80% in around half an hour.
03:02The interior of the DS No. 8 is also a real eye-catcher.
03:07The design is uncluttered and modern with a touch of science fiction, for example through the X-shaped steering wheel and the illuminated center console, which is reminiscent of Star Wars.
03:17The materials have a high-quality feel and are pleasantly soft.
03:20The space is also generous.
03:24Even tall people can sit comfortably in the front and back.
03:27The trunk holds around 620 L.
03:30With the rear seat folded down, it even has a capacity of up to 1900 L.
03:36Ideal for long journeys or larger transports.
