00:01Is Denver the best opponent they've played this year?
00:04If you look at it with the Texans, Denver comes in at 6-2.
00:08The Seahawks, who they last lost to on Monday night a couple of weeks ago,
00:13they're 5-2 and leading the NFC West.
00:17The Bucs are 6-2, leading the South.
00:20And the Rams are tied with the Seahawks at 5-2.
00:22Those are, I think, the three up there.
00:25We watched the 49ers.
00:27I know you watched them on the film.
00:28I'm not going to put those.
00:30I'm not going to put those teams.
00:31But would you look at this Denver team,
00:34do you think this is the best team they've faced all season?
00:39I think it is if we take all things into consideration here.
00:45And when I say take all things into consideration,
00:47I really like the Rams this year.
00:49But you literally were first rattled out of the box after Matthew Stafford,
00:54you know, whatever, took care of,
00:56Lode managed to back all of training camp and saw no action.
01:00So that was the first time he and Devontae Adams had ever worked together.
01:06And it was the first time that he had been in live action to any degree
01:09for all of training camp.
01:11And being the first rattle out of the box there,
01:13I think this team trumps the Rams team.
01:16I think you mentioned it.
01:18That's interesting.
01:18The Bucs team, I believe, did they have Mike Evans when they came in here?
01:22Yeah.
01:23Mike Evans?
01:23You sure Mike wasn't hurt?
01:24No, they had Mike.
01:25Godwin was hurt.
01:26Derrick Stingley locked him up pretty good.
01:29Okay, so that changes the thought there.
01:31But they didn't have Tristan Wirfs.
01:33They didn't have both their tackles.
01:33I knew they were missing somebody.
01:34Both their tackles.
01:35Remember their right tackle?
01:37Charlie Heck was playing tackle.
01:38They had to move their center to left tackle.
01:40There you go.
01:40So they had some injury issues across the whole line.
01:43Okay, there you go.
01:44There you go.
01:44So there's that.
01:45And then the Seahawks, I think, are probably the most complete team
01:49when you look at it bumped up against Denver.
01:53And when I look at Denver,
01:55I would say that they are the best team that the Texans have faced this year.
02:03Defensively, they're absolute monsters, even without Pat Sertain.
02:07The only team they've played this year that are both defensive, the Broncos.
02:13Oh, yeah.
02:13Yeah, total offense, they're 10.
02:15Total defense, they're 6.
02:17Yeah.
02:17But they got Bo Nix.
02:19You got a quarterback that's dual threat.
02:21You got a play caller that is as good as there is in the league.
02:24He's got – the quarterback's got targets.
02:28Defensively, like I said, it's a complete unit, kind of like Houston,
02:32to where you don't want to lose Derek Stingley Jr.,
02:34but if you lose a high-end player, their ability as a unit
02:39and as an all-11 team, you know, stays pretty solid.
02:44I mean, it doesn't just kill you.
02:45So, yeah, I would say this is the best team right now that the Texans have faced,
02:50the Denver Broncos sitting at 6-2.
02:52Yeah, I think they're, as you said, more complete when they play them.
02:58I think the caveat – because immediately my thought is the Rams, right?
03:03Like, is the Rams – I think their defense is not as good as Denver's,
03:07but I think the Rams' defense is pretty good.
03:10They're very similar to them.
03:14But then I think, you know, Matthew Stafford versus Bo Nix,
03:18there's just some throws that Matthew Stafford can make
03:21and made against the Texans, oddly enough, in that game
03:24that Bo Nix just doesn't have yet.
03:27But I like the caveat of when they played them early on, this was –
03:32I think that Rams' team is probably a different team today
03:36than they played before.
03:38But, yeah, I would say – I would say so.
03:45Although Bo Nix, I think Bo Nix is one that kind of holds effort.
03:52Or even – I would say even Sam Darnold that you're dealing with,
03:55though Sam played pretty silly in the game against the Texans.
04:00As a passer, I'll agree with you.
04:01I think the dynamic of the legs that Bo can use, I think,
04:05in particular against how we play defense in a sense of getting upfield
04:09and we like to get upfield and sometimes run past the quarterback.
04:14Well, when you've got a guy that can move with his legs,
04:16you can't always do that.
04:17So I think it alters how we have to play defense versus them
04:21given how much he can run, right?
04:23You've got to have some guys that are responsible for Bo Nix.
04:26You can't just pin your ears back and rush past the quarterback's depth
04:29because then you've got issues.
04:30But I just think also with Denver, their big strengths can be real issues
04:39for the Texans.
04:41Like the strength of their team is their front seven.
04:44Yeah.
04:45And they –
04:46Pressure on our own line.
04:47Yeah, versus the Texans' offensive line, which, you know,
04:51has been up and down with certain opponents.
04:54Like I would like in their – like the Rams' front seven,
04:57I think the Broncos are the Rams' front seven on steroids.
05:01Like similar to the Seahawks too.
05:05I think even better with the Seahawks than the Seahawks' front seven
05:08when you look at that group.
05:10So I think that's the other part for the Texans in particular,
05:13what the Broncos do up front, the Broncos' run game.
05:16I think the Broncos are the second best run game in football, right?
05:21Like they run it by average a game better than the Lions do, right?
05:26And we saw a couple of times this year the Texans' defense,
05:32the Tampa Bay game comes to mind early in the Seattle game.
05:36They struggled a bit with the Seattle run game.
05:39So just a couple of things that they do well.
05:43And I think this is – you know, Sean Payton's right up there
05:46with Sean McVay in terms of coaches they've had to run into as well
05:50to help out Bo Nix.
05:51So this is a really good football team.
05:56But again, man, they – and we'll talk about this all week.
05:59They got some weird games though, man.
06:02They got 13-11 with the Jets where it's like, what the hell?
06:06How are you down to the Giants at home 26-8 with five or six minutes left?
06:13You had that miracle win that you had to come up with, right?
06:16They fought it week one against the Titans for a while in that game.
06:20So they got some weird games.
06:22But all in all, for what they do well
06:24and what sometimes are struggles for the Texans,
06:27this is – this may be the best matchup for them.
