00:00as they go into Arrowhead and win 20-10 in a defensive battle
00:06and in a battle that saw C.J. Stroud come out and make some big-time plays
00:12when it was needed.
00:13We'll get to his grade coming up here a little bit later on in the show.
00:17But we want to open up this time for you, 713-572-4610.
00:22You can call in, get in right now.
00:25Tyler will have the phone lines open for you.
00:27Your Texans are 8-5.
00:30They are currently in the seventh spot in the playoffs,
00:33but one game behind Jacksonville for the division in the AFC South.
00:39And so he said they're currently the seventh spot as they go past the Colts,
00:46and they're in the playoffs as we speak right now
00:49with a game against the Cardinals at home coming up.
00:52I want to know from you all because I see some people texting in,
00:55and I'm curious from you too, Clint,
00:57when you watch that game and how that thing went through,
01:01did you feel like the Texans went in there and won that game,
01:04or did you feel like the Chiefs lost that game?
01:08Oh, no.
01:08I feel like the Texans went in there and won that game.
01:11I mean, with this defense, the way that they impose their will on folks,
01:17that is definitely the Texans going in and winning.
01:20But, you know, it's hard to watch the Texans when they make super conservative decisions
01:28and win with defense on a fourth down stop, win by a single, you know,
01:33the single score, all that kind of stuff.
01:36That's hard enough to watch.
01:37But then when you watch them and it's completely, I mean,
01:43just unacceptable what's going on on the offensive side of the football in the second half,
01:47you know, that is definitely tough to stomach.
01:50But it's still the Texans imposing their will on folks,
01:55which I think forced a Hall of Fame coach into making a piss-poor decision.
01:59So I got to roll with the Texans won this thing and not that the Chiefs lost it.
02:03Yeah, I think the Chiefs definitely made mistakes.
02:06There were drops in there.
02:07There were – and I think, to me, the real egregious thing was the Andy Reid decision.
02:13Agreed.
02:14But a lot of the problems they had was forced by the Texans.
02:20Right?
02:21Yep.
02:21Right?
02:21Like Mahomes' interceptions.
02:25I mean, if you take them, like the first one that was on him,
02:29he threw the ball into a window that was not there and it got tipped.
02:33And when you get the ball tipped, you know as a quarterback, Clint, that ball gets tipped.
02:37You get yourself in a situation where you can get picked off
02:40when you got all those defenders back there.
02:42The second one was just bad.
02:43He just underthrew Hollywood Brown and probably had another receiver shorter
02:50for a first down in front of it.
02:52And then the last one, I'll be honest, he threw it a little bit behind Kelsey.
02:56Kelsey had two hands on it.
02:57He'll tell you he should have brought it in but tipped it up in the air like those.
03:01But there are three guys around them.
03:03They're making plays.
03:04They dislodged the ball with Petrie multiple times.
03:08I think they were a big cause of why they lost the game.
03:13I think there were some situations.
03:16I do think in the second half, Andy Reid helped the Texans who looked like they were asleep
03:25offensively and maybe just didn't have answers until I think the Chiefs probably got sucked down
03:32from the decisions and sucked down.
03:35That's right.
03:36Sucked down the whole stadium.
03:39But no, I think the major reason why the Chiefs made mistakes was because of the Houston Texans.
03:48All right, let's get to our guy, Dom.
03:51Dom is in the building.
03:52Go ahead and kick this thing off, Dom.
03:54What do you think?
03:54Do you think the Texans took that game or do you think it was more that the Chiefs lost it?
03:59Let's go, boys.
04:00The Texans absolutely took that game.
04:03We walked into that dump.
04:04The arrowhead hit him right in the mouth.
04:06Dom from Jersey's live on the drive.
04:09That defense was swarm and show.
04:11It was the goddamn Bulls on parade.
04:13Seven was special.
04:14He wasn't perfect.
04:15He missed some throws, but he made some big plays.
04:18Twelve was special.
04:20Shout out to Woody Marks, man.
04:21He was a workhorse.
04:22And shout out to Kamar Lasser.
04:24Absolute dog.
04:25Believe it or not, there was a coach out there that was worse than Nick Taly.
04:29His name is Andy Reid.
04:31To go for it on fourth and one on your own end of the field was insane.
04:36And then on top of it, you avoid them all game and you're going to throw at the best cornerback in the NFL.
04:43Derek Stingley.
04:44How dare you insult me like that by going at 24 like that?
04:48I hope you learned your lesson last night.
04:50The Houston Texans want all the smoke.
04:52Dom from Jersey wants all the smoke.
04:55Whoever, whenever, bring it, baby.
04:57Let's go, Texans.
04:58All right.
04:59Love the call, Dom.
05:00Stop cussing, Dom.
05:02Yeah, if you weren't so good, you'd have got hung up on right there, Dom.
05:04I'm telling you, man.
05:04I'm trying to give you some feeling.
05:06713-572-4610.
05:09Man, no, listen.
05:12Yep.
05:12I think I agree with you.
05:14I think at least for that decision.
05:16I think for that decision.
05:18That decision was the worst thing in the game.
05:21But Nick Taly.
05:22Nick Taly's was repeated.
05:25Yeah.
05:25I mean, I don't think it ever got fixed.
05:27Like, even on the drive when they scored a touchdown,
05:31it took C.J. Stroud throwing on the cake and being a hero.
05:35Like, yeah, man, I mean, you got to, I don't know, man, you're right.
05:39You got to take one of them away, right?
05:40You got to either just flat double-team Chris Jones
05:43and not allow him to get there,
05:45or you got to have Andrews to do something with the blitz.
05:48Yeah.
05:48He was allowing both of it to happen, like every single time.
05:52Well, they do a really nice job with Chris Jones in a sense of,
05:55I mean, I watched him whoop Andrews' ass,
05:57then he bumped over and whooped Ingrams' ass,
05:58and then he bumped outside and wanted some of Trent Brown.
06:00So, I mean, like when it comes to,
06:03like that was three consecutive plays,
06:04but when it comes to, like, doubling him,
06:07we've talked about this before, it is, it is,
06:10I literally was like, thank you, Chris Jones, for going outside.
06:14I invite Chris Jones.
06:16Anybody that wants to go out to the edge
06:17and instead of being that force on the inside,
06:20I invite you to go outside.
06:21You'd actually do me a favor when you do that.
06:24But the point is, is he makes it really difficult to zero in on him
06:29because he moves around so much.
06:30So, how do you, do you plan on helping inside with the back?
06:32Do you plan on helping outside with a tight end?
06:34Do you need to help your tackles versus your guard center?
06:38Like, there's a lot that goes into that.
06:39So, that part, the Chris Jones dynamic part of it is,
06:42I mean, you can be as prepared as you want to.
06:45The way they move Chris Jones around and the caliber player he is,
06:49when he won't, you ain't stopping him.
06:50It don't matter.
06:51And, I mean, you can dedicate a double team to him every time
06:55if he's on the inside.
06:56Not that bad.
06:56I mean, yeah, no, it was, I mean, batting passes,
06:59I mean, harassing him.
07:00I'm just like, he just, he just can't go.
07:03At that point, he can't go one-on-one with Andrew.
07:05That can't happen.
07:06Like, I mean, he just, like, that can't be one-on-one with Andrew.
07:09Cannot be.
07:10Ingram the next snap.
07:10And then, yeah, Ed, Ed, it was rough.
07:13Ed was, I think, I think Titus may be the only one I don't remember
07:17of just the point.
07:18Because he sure got nursery, too.
07:20He came around the corner on nursery's ass.
07:22All right, 7-1-3-5-7-2-4-6-10.
07:25Get in as the Texans are 8-5 right now in the playoffs.
07:30Corey, did you feel like the Texans won that game, took that game,
07:34or did you think the Chiefs more lost it?
07:37Texans went in there and won that game.
07:39There you go.
07:39December, right?
07:41It's December.
07:41Their season's on the line.
07:42We're trying to get a wide-court spot.
07:44We're in freaking Arrowhead Stadium, only game on TV.
07:47And we went in there, and our defense showed up, and they swarmed.
07:50Number 7 made some fantastic throws, even though you missed some.
07:53That 13-16, that's a big-boy throw, dude.
07:55CJ stood in the pocket, took the lick, and threw a dart to Higgins.
07:59And then our defense, we made Travis Kelsey fumble.
08:01We made Travis Kelsey fumble, and we got the interception.
08:05And then we had a lot of hits.
08:06When Rice got hit, I didn't even think he was going to get up.
08:09Our defense was hitting all night, and I was proud to be a Texan.
08:12And I also want to say, Sean, I didn't forget that you predicted the Chiefs
08:15to win 23-13 on Sunday.
08:16That was wrong.
08:17Go Texans.
08:18Here we go.
08:18Bulls on parade, and we'll be out.
08:21I was incredibly wrong.
08:23I'll be honest.
08:23I did not think the Texans were ready to go in there and win that game.
08:28Did not think they were.
08:29They were certainly ready, especially defensively, to go and make plays.
08:34They made plays.
08:35They made plays, and the Chiefs didn't.
08:39And repeatedly, plays that were there.
08:42We talked about all those throws that C.J. made rolling out.
08:45Higgins caught the ball.
08:46Rasheed Rice didn't catch the ball.
08:49Noah Gray couldn't catch the ball.
08:51Kelsey had another drop in there.
08:55Didn't catch the ball, right?
08:56They had eight drops in that game.
08:58They made plays.
08:59They made plays offensively, defensively in a way that the Chiefs did.
09:03Someone texted in, come on, guys.
09:04The Chiefs lost that game.
09:06There's no way any of you all thought the Texans were winning that game until Andy Reid went for it.
09:14I ain't going to say that.
09:15But I certainly thought at 10-10, the Chiefs' offense was moving it better than the Texans' offense was.
09:27But, I mean, you could see a turnover happening on either side.
09:33So, I felt like it was even – I would say the Chiefs had momentum, but I'm not going to sit there and say that.
09:38I thought for sure they were going to – if they ever got up, they ever got a score, right?
09:43Like if they were up leading and then Andy would probably play a conservative, yeah, then maybe.
09:49But, no, at 10-10, I didn't think so.
09:51Look, our offense was completely overwhelmed.
09:53They were going absolutely nowhere.
09:54They clearly – Kansas City had the momentum.
09:56You know, clearly you're watching that game, and if you had to bet the game at 10-10,
10:01the way our offense was playing, nobody in their right mind was betting the Texans in that moment.
10:07You look at it, our defense was having a hell of a night, obviously, against Pat Mahomes.
10:12But if you're in that third quarter, beyond halftime, their defense was overwhelming our offense.
10:18Their offense was actually – they weren't having a ton of success,
10:21but they weren't overwhelmed by what the Texans were doing.
10:24And as you mentioned, Will Anderson, Daniil Hunter were kept at bay, relatively speaking.
10:29Yeah, they scored their first two drives.
10:31Yeah, it looked like the scheme of the game plan that Andy had, you know,
10:36moving the pocket and then, you know, accompanied with – coupled with Pat's ability to manipulate the pass rush.
10:44I mean, they had some decent answers to give them some chances.
10:47It was going to be a long day against our defense any way you slice it,
10:50but they had a really – I mean, they had a decent plan.
10:51And if I'm – look, like Andy Reid and Pat, like I think they let – they let a good chunk of the game go by
10:58without getting Rasheed Rice involved in the game more than they already had.
11:03I thought that was pretty interesting because it was working.
11:06The quick stuff, you know, the quick swing screens and stuff they were doing with him was working early on.
11:10And so not getting him involved was interesting a little bit more.
11:13But really, their plan was –
11:14Teams really like to try to take shots on the Texans.
11:17Yeah, because they're there.
11:18You watch the film, they're there.
11:19Even with their lineman issues, they were – that seemed to be a lot of the game plan.
11:24Yep.
11:25And they were there.
11:26But, yeah.
11:26The thing is, is we're going to watch a film.
11:29And I know I already saw them on the TV copy one time.
11:31And this is what – this is what opponents, right?
11:33Josh – especially opponents like Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen.
11:36What they do is they go to the sideline after getting sacked or having to go three and out and, you know,
11:42not converting to third and 14 or something.
11:43You go to the sideline and somebody hands you them little printouts.
11:46Or you look – I guess nowadays you look at your iPad, right?
11:48Yeah.
11:49And you look at your iPad and you go, gosh dang, man, if I just had another split second.
11:52Man, look at – look at number one running down the sideline all by himself.
11:57Man, look at Hollywood running across the field all by himself for a 40-yard game.
12:00Gosh dang, if I just had a split more – so you go back out there and you're like,
12:03I'm going to figure out a way to get another split second because I know I've got guys open down there.
12:07Next thing you know, you're in third and 14 again.
12:09But that's what gets those kind of guys.
12:12Those kind of guys, Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, there's just some of the same things we've talked about C.J. Stroud doing.
12:18And it just – like the desire to go make those big plays because you can
12:23and you have for a big chunk of your career takes you out of sorts.
12:26And that offense is – that's a tough, tough way to play offense against this defense.
12:31All right, Southside Al.
12:33Let's get – let's get you on here.
12:35Southside Al.
12:36Go ahead, man.
12:37Do you think the Texans took that game or the Chiefs lost it?
12:41Well, you know this run and what's up, Clint.
12:45You know, the Texans won the game.
12:48That's what they did.
12:49I'm going to come at this with a different angle, Ron.
12:51I think Buffalo tried to do the same thing when we played them.
12:55We go back and look at the tape.
12:56They went for it on fourth on their side of the field.
12:59Unfortunately, they got it.
13:01But what I'll say about this is, Andrew, I shout out to y'all's show, man.
13:05Ain't nobody said enough, man.
13:07Y'all call the truth, man, and great show, man.
13:10I give y'all a tip of my hat.
13:11Because Chris Cottons wrote, we had the ball in the fourth quarter, Ron,
13:15with a minute or something left.
13:17He said it was saying the game ain't over and we in field go run.
13:21This is what happens in life, Clint.
13:23Sometimes people can have so much expectations on you, what they do with Patrick Mahomes,
13:29they think still that he was going to be able to pull that out,
13:33and he was going down by 10.
13:34He wouldn't give up then if Wale get the ball at the five.
13:38Chris Cottons said he probably haven't took a snap in the offense practice
13:42and the man going stoke, then he shut up.
13:45Man, I'm so sick of these commentators, man.
13:48But this is what I say, Ron, and I hang up and listen.
13:51What happens is nobody's talking about these claims.
13:54I told you last night, Ron, it wasn't 20 points.
13:57Of course, it could have been easily 27 because the first drive, we put seven on the board.
14:03But we had to take it off because the offensive line created a penalty.
14:08A bad set up on the line, and they called the seven back from Schultz.
14:13Schultz called a good call.
14:15Schultz crossed the middle for six.
14:16But we had a penalty, so they raced that.
14:20So what I'll say is this here, man.
14:22It's a lot can be pointed to the game, but you have to realize one thing.
14:26Glenn, check this out.
14:27Kansas City was down 10-0 after two halves of a football game.
14:31That's uncharted territory from them.
14:33They had zero at the half, and they caught themselves trying to hustle back and get a win.
14:39That's not happening with the Texas 2025 defense.
14:43You can't do that.
14:44Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, you can't win like that.
14:47So it started from the top, and I ain't going to get y'all taken.
14:50Appreciate the call.
14:53Yeah, listen, man.
14:55As I said before, someone texted in shows making excuses.
14:58The Texans only lost the third quarter.
15:00I'm making it.
15:01I've come out.
15:02I think the better team won the game.
15:05They were the better team.
15:06I think the only advantage there that the Chiefs had was Spags and Chris Jones,
15:12and that almost spun the thing around.
15:17But, no, the Texans made plays throughout the game in a way that the Chiefs didn't,
15:24and they deserved to win the game and should have won the game,
15:27and they were the better team.
15:29They were the better team.
15:30Now, doesn't mean they don't have some stuff they need to – they definitely need to work on.
15:34Yep.
15:34And a lot of teams aren't going to give you what the Chiefs gave you
15:40or allow you off the hook on what the Chiefs allowed you off the hook on
15:43to only complete three passes in the second half of a game on the road.
15:48Right?
15:48You got to be able to do better with that.
15:50For two more questions, please, please.
