00:03Today we're talking about the revised Yamaha Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT for the 2025 model year.
00:11Following the MT-07, Yamaha has now also given the crossover model based on it an update with numerous improvements in technology, ergonomics, and equipment.
00:21Despite the new look, the Tracer 7 remains true to its lineage.
00:25Modernized, but immediately recognizable, it appears sleeker and more dynamic than before.
00:30The familiar CP2 engine has been adapted to Euro 5 Plus and now comes with Ride-by-Wire,
00:36which for the first time allows a choice between three riding modes, Street, Sport, and Custom.
00:43Both versions come standard with Traction Control with two deactivatable modes, a slipper clutch with lower effort, and Cruise Control.
00:51The chassis has also been improved.
00:55Like the MT-07, the Tracer 7 now has an upside-down fork with 18-way rebound adjustment.
01:02At the rear, there's a shock absorber with adjustable preload, which on the GT can even be adjusted using a handwheel.
01:10Yamaha has also redesigned the steel frame and lengthened and stiffened the swingarm by 4 centimeters for greater stability.
01:16New radial brake calipers and Michelin Road 6 GTR tires round out the chassis updates.
01:23The ergonomics are immediately noticeable.
01:26The handlebars are 3 centimeters higher and 2.5 centimeters wider.
01:30There's also a new, molded two-piece seat, with the rider's seat adjustable by 2 centimeters and the pillion seat extended by 4 centimeters for greater comfort on long journeys.
01:41The seat padding has also been redesigned.
01:45On the GT, it's even more generous.
01:47The footpegs on the GT also feature new rubber inserts.
01:52A larger fuel tank capacity of 18 liters promises a range of up to 400 kilometers with restrained riding.
02:00There are differences in terms of aerodynamics.
02:06The Tracer 7 gets a short, dark-tinted windshield, while the GT gets a 9 centimeters higher and 6 centimeters adjustable windshield with a millimeter-thicker plexiglass for greater stability at high speeds.
02:20Only the Tracer 7 GT comes standard with three-stage heated grips.
02:25Both versions come with new handguards made of steel and plastic.
02:29The instrumentation is also state-of-the-art.
02:33A modern 5-inch TFT display with full smartphone connectivity and optional turn-by-turn navigation via the Garmin Street Cross app is now standard, as is a USB-C socket.
02:46The indicator switches are also new, although they take some getting used to.
02:52Automatic indicator deactivation and an emergency brake signal are also standard.
02:56Those opting for the Tracer 7 GT also get a center stand and side cases included.
03:05Surprisingly, the automated UPS-AMT manual transmission, which is already available for the MT-07, is currently missing.
03:12This option would have been particularly useful for a touring motorcycle, but it is expected to be added later.
03:21Both models will be available from June.
