00:00Welcome to the video from Auto Magazine Tuning Blog about the Alpen A390.
00:09Development of the Alpen A390 is in the home stretch.
00:14The new Fastback model is currently undergoing an endurance test at the Arctic Circle in Sweden.
00:21Alpen engineers are using the extreme cold conditions to put the finishing touches to the brand's second electric car.
00:30The vehicle will be officially unveiled at the end of May as part of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Alpine brand.
00:39These final test drives are crucial for further developing the technologies that will distinguish the A93 as the brand's future flagship.
00:49The conditions at the Arctic Circle allow the engineers to simulate stresses that correspond to five years of everyday use.
00:56Temperatures of up to minus 40 degrees Celsius severely affect materials and technology, putting the durability and reliability of the production model to the test.
01:07At the same time, the aim is to optimize the agility and level of performance that is expected of an Alpine.
01:16Philip Kreef, CEO of Alpine, underlines the importance of these tests.
01:22We are in Lapland to finalize the development of the future A390 under extreme conditions.
01:28This model is a technical and design gem, into which our engineers have poured all their know-how and passion.
01:39The aim was to create a five-seater sports fastback that reflects the performance, agility and driving pleasure of our legendary A110.
01:46Particular focus is placed on the driving dynamics characteristics, which are of central importance for every Alpine model.
01:57The Arctic Circle offers ideal conditions for testing the technical innovations of the A3990.
02:05These include the drive system with three electric motors and five driving modes, including the new track mode.
02:11Alpine active torque vectoring is also being tested.
02:17Real-world conditions make it possible to optimize the interaction of these systems and perfect the driving experience.
02:26In addition, other essential aspects are being studied, including the performance of the heating, the function of the dehumidification and defrosting, and the behavior of the electronic stability control on snow.
02:36Such tests are only meaningful under extreme conditions and cannot be carried out realistically in warmer regions.
02:48With the A390, Alpine is launching a true five-seater sports car.
02:55As the brand's first sports fastback, the model is set to occupy a unique new position in the automotive market.
03:01The final prototypes have now been presented in their final body shape and the dimensions have been confirmed.
03:09The vehicle is 4.6 meters long, 1.5 meters high and 1.9 meters wide.
03:17Alpine describes the A93 as an emotional vehicle that offers enough space for everyday use and at the same time transforms into a genuine sports car at the touch of a button.
03:26The striking light signature was inspired by the A93 show car.
03:34Despite the camouflage, some aerodynamic details can be seen.
03:39At the front, a blade on the bonnet improves airflow over the vehicle.
03:46The micro-perforated radiator grille optimizes air circulation, while large side air intakes create an air curtain that accelerates the airflow.
03:56At the rear, only a hint of a spoiler can be seen so far, but it can be assumed that further aerodynamic elements will be used here.
04:07One detail that has already been revealed from the interior is the sporty, flattened, napper leather steering wheel.
04:13Alpine took inspiration from the steering wheels of its Formula 1 cars.
04:20It has three control elements, OV, RCH and drive modes, which allow direct access to various driving modes.
04:27This also includes track mode, which has been optimized for use on the racetrack.
04:37With its agile chassis, acceleration equivalent to the A10R and particularly precise cornering, the A390 meets all the criteria of a real sports car.
04:46At the same time, it offers space for up to five people and thus combines everyday suitability within compromising performance.
04:58Series production of the Alpine A93 is set to start in France in 2025.
05:04Specific details on performance and price are not yet known.
05:07The model is part of Alpine's Dream Garage and is the second of three planned vehicles.
05:15In addition to the previously introduced A92, the A93 will be supplemented by an electric successor to the current A10.
05:23With this model range, the brand is completing its transformation towards electrified electromobility.
05:31As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
