Der Toyota GR Yaris 2025 geht in die nĂ€chste Runde – mit 280 PS, 390 NM Drehmoment und Allradantrieb bleibt er ein kompromissloser Hot Hatch. Toyota hat nicht nur am Motor, sondern auch am Fahrwerk und Cockpit gefeilt. Neue Federraten, zusĂ€tzliche Schweißpunkte und eine ĂŒberarbeitete Innenraumgestaltung sorgen fĂŒr ein noch prĂ€ziseres und besser abgestimmtes Fahrerlebnis.

Neben der Leistung hat Toyota auch an der Sitzposition und Ergonomie gearbeitet. Die neue Sitzhöhe liegt 2,5 cm tiefer, was die Sicht verbessert. Auch optisch gibt es VerĂ€nderungen, wie die nach unten versetzte dritte Bremsleuchte. Trotz all dieser Upgrades bleibt der GR Yaris kein SchnĂ€ppchen – der Preis startet bei 47.500 EUR.

01:12The compact all-wheel drive vehicle weighing 1,310 kg was developed as a homologation vehicle for Toyota's WR racing car.
01:22Actually, 2,500 units would have been enough, but Toyota continued to build around 18,000 vehicles
01:28and has now even carried out another revision.
01:32This effort deserves respect, just like the technical design of the GRJ.
01:38In order to accommodate a multi-link rear axle in a length of almost 4 meters,
01:43the platforms of the Yaris and Corolla were combined.
01:47A roof made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic saves 3.5 kg in weight,
01:52while the front and tailgate made of aluminum are 24 kg lighter.
01:56Apart from the exterior mirrors, roof rails and headlights, no body part is from the production year.
02:04The combination of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and the low vehicle weight ensures strong performance.

02:15which provides noticeable boost pressure at 2,000 rpm and powerful acceleration from 3,500 rpm.
02:22The revised 1.6-liter turbocharged engine now produces 280 horsepower
02:29and offers a maximum torque of 390 Nm.
02:35Despite its three-cylinder engine, the engine has a powerful sound.
02:40Toyota has revised the valve train, installed new exhaust valves
02:44and optimized the pistons to achieve the increased power.
02:46The six-speed manual transmission with its connections works perfectly under load
02:53and a switchable double-declutching function makes downshifting easier.
02:58Visually, the third brake light has been moved lower to make it easier to replace the spoiler.
03:05Additional welding and adhesive points increase the rigidity of the body,
03:09while modified spring rates and front shock absorbers secured with additional screws improve handling.
03:14Inside, Toyota has redesigned the entire cockpit.
03:20The interior mirror has been moved further up and the seating position has been lowered by 2 cm.
03:27This provides a better view to the front and diagonally above.
03:31Toyota does not provide any specific information on adjusting the spring rates.
03:36However, users report slight understeer on asphalt at high cornering speeds,
03:41while the rear end is difficult to get to steer.
03:44However, things are likely to be different on wet or slippery roads.
03:49Acceleration from 0 to 100 km per hour is achieved in 5 seconds,
03:53which is even faster than the official factory specification.
03:58Braking performance is impressive at 33 m at full speed.
04:02Despite its performance, the GR year-on-year proves to be quite suitable for everyday use,
04:08even if it does not seem very spectacular in normal driving conditions.
04:11But driving pleasure comes at a price.
04:15With a starting price of just under 47,500 euros, it is not a cheap pleasure.
