00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:15Today, we're all about the upcoming BMW X3 2025, known as the G45 model, which is already in the starting blocks for production.
00:23This vehicle will be produced at two of BMW's most renowned plants, namely the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, USA, and the Rosslyn plant in South Africa.
00:35Both production locations have played a crucial role in realizing BMW's vision for this new X3 and bringing it to the roads of the world.
00:44The Spartanburg plant is an important production location for BMW and forms the heart of the production of its sport utility vehicles.
00:51Well-known models such as the BMW X5, X6, and X7 have already been manufactured here in the past.
00:59The plant focuses on state-of-the-art production techniques and sustainability, aspects that are perfectly suited to the new BMW X3 G45.
01:08Spartanburg places great emphasis on resource-saving methods and consistently pursues a circular production strategy.
01:15This means that materials are used responsibly and waste and environmental pollution are reduced.
01:21This sustainable production approach is particularly fitting as the new X3 will be equipped with various hybrid powertrains, reflecting BMW's efforts towards greener mobility.
01:32The Rosslyn plant in South Africa will also be responsible for the production of the new X3.
01:41With its strategic location in Africa and long history, Rosslyn is renowned for its precision and high standards.
01:50Production here will enable BMW to deliver the X3 more efficiently to the African market and beyond, making Rosslyn an important part of the global production chain.
01:59Production of the 2025 BMW X3 G45 will start in the fourth quarter of 2024 with a clear focus on initial deliveries in Europe and the US.
02:11BMW fans and enthusiasts of this model can therefore expect to see the X3 in showrooms in early 2025.
02:21With its modern design and environmentally-friendly production methods, the BMW X3 G45 brings a fresh and sustainable interpretation of a luxury sports utility vehicle to the market.
02:31Thanks to the expertise of Spartanburg and Rosslyn, BMW is ensuring that this next-generation X3 embodies the company's traditional quality, performance, and sustainability.
02:49Let's take the BMW by 3.0 X drive, for example.
02:52A vehicle that heralds the fourth generation of the popular SUV with its fresh design, new dimensions and impressive features.
03:02This time, BMW has really gone all out and is presenting the X3 in a completely revised version that seamlessly combines tradition and innovation.
03:11The new BMW X3 has not only grown in appearance, but has also increased in size.
03:17At 4.70 meters in length, it even surpasses the first-generation BMW X5 and thus offers significantly more space for long-distance comfort.
03:28At the same time, the new dimensions make it 3 centimeters longer and wider, but 2.5 centimeters flatter, making it a bit tighter in the city.
03:36Nevertheless, the BMW X3 remains a true all-rounder thanks to its intelligent use of space and elegant design.
03:44The design has undergone a comprehensive overhaul.
03:47Particularly striking is the front with its still-large radiator grille, which is harmoniously rounded off by slimmer, modern LED headlights.
03:56The gently sloping roof gives the sideline a more dynamic and sporty look, while the powerful rear end remains true to the typical BMW look.
04:05The storage space is practical.
04:07The standard X3 offers a boot volume of 570-1700L, while the plug-in hybrid version is somewhat more limited at 460-1600L.
04:20Inside, the 2025 BMW X3 shows that it takes the premium class seriously.
04:25Two large monitors in a curved design dominate the cockpit and create a futuristic, high-quality atmosphere.
04:33The materials and workmanship meet the highest standards, and the popular iDrive system with dray and push-button controller has also been retained in this generation.
04:42This intuitive operation clearly sets BMW apart from many competitors and makes every journey a pleasure.
04:50When it comes to engines, BMW leaves nothing to be desired.
04:53The entry-level model BMW X320 drive offers 208 horsepower and starts at 57,900 euros, while the X320DX drive with 197 horsepower is available from 60,400 euros.
05:07The plug-in hybrid BMW X330X drive combines an electric motor and a combustion engine to produce an impressive system output of 299 horsepower.
05:16With this power, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 6.2 seconds and can cover up to 75 km on electric power alone.
05:26This will set you back at least 66,000 euros.
05:30The current top model, the BMW M50X drive, is powered by a turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine and delivers 389 horsepower.
05:39With a starting price of 82,500 euros, it is one of the most powerful versions of the X3.
05:46However, BMW already has further models in the pipeline.
05:51A top diesel and a fully electric iX3 version are set to expand the model range in the future.
05:56The obligatory X3M has also already been announced.
06:02The first models of the new BMW X3 are expected to be on the roads from the fourth quarter of 2024.
06:08Next up is the BMW X3 long wheelbase version G546 for China.
06:16Even before the new BMW X3, internally designated G45, officially hits the market, a second variant is already being introduced, the long wheelbase version G46, which was developed specifically for the Chinese market.
06:30For the first time in China, the X3 has an 11 cm longer wheelbase, giving the vehicle an overall length of almost 4.87 m.
06:40The width is 1.90 m and the wheelbase has increased to almost 2.89 m.
06:45The design of the XL X3, as it is called, is tailored to the needs of Chinese customers.
06:52In China, iconic glow contour lighting for the BMW kidney grille is standard equipment and there are 5 metallic paint finishes to choose from.
07:00The basic model of the X325L drive comes as standard with the M Sport package, in which many add-on parts are finished in the body color and contrasted with bronze-colored accents.
07:11The higher-quality variant of the X330LS drive, on the other hand, presents itself with predominantly black surface finishes.
07:23Inside, passengers in the rear seats benefit from the extended wheelbase and enjoy particularly generous legroom.
07:29The front seats are equipped with comfort cushions and a center armrest as standard, in which smartphones can be charged wirelessly.
07:40A panoramic glass roof with optional sky lounge lighting creates an open feeling of space and enables atmospheric lighting effects in several colors and with modern graphics.
07:49The first row offers the latest BMW ambience with a curved display that combines a 12.3-inch driver information monitor with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen.
08:04The whole thing runs on the new BMW OS operating system and is complemented by the interaction bar.
08:11There is also a steering wheel with a flattened rim at the bottom and color-contrasting lighting elements in the center console and in the door panels.
08:19The standard V-ganza comfort seats with leather-like covers are available in three two-tone versions.
08:28Crafted clarity glass applications for selected controls are optionally available.
08:33Under the hood of the Long Chinese X3 is always a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with all-wheel drive.
08:40The basic version of the X325LX drive delivers 190 horsepower and a maximum torque of 310 newm.
08:49The high-performance variant of the X3LX drive achieves 258 horsepower and a maximum torque of 400 newm.
08:57In both cases, an 8-speed automatic transmission takes care of the power transmission.
09:03For those who want even more power, the new X3 will also be launched in China as the M50 ICE drive.
09:08However, this sporty mild hybrid version with a 3-liter 6-cylinder engine is only available with a short wheelbase.
09:17It is produced at the U.S. plant in Spartanburg and exported from there to China.
09:23There is no precise information yet about the market launch and prices.
09:26The current X3 discontinued model starts at 399,600 yuan in China, which equates to around 51,000 euros.
09:37Given the longer wheelbase and the more luxurious overall concept, the new addition is likely to be priced higher.
09:42The first long wheelbase version of the X3 with the internal abbreviation 46 joins the extended versions of the X1 and X5 and will be offered exclusively in China and built locally.
09:56With its new size, it fits seamlessly into the portfolio for Chinese customers.
10:02Interestingly, the Chinese X3 is only about 6 cm shorter than the current CX5 with a regular wheelbase.
10:08As usual, the main benefit of the growth lies in the improved comfort for the passengers.
10:16Longer doors make it easier to get in and the more generous space turns the second row of the BMW X3 into a spacious lounge.
10:25Comfort features on the headrests and a special center armrest with integrated wireless charging function for smartphones provide additional comfort.
10:33There is no choice of drive for the long wheelbase version.
10:36It is only available as the BMW X330L corner X drive, i.e. with the 258-horsepower turbo 4-cylinder B48.
10:46Just like the long wheelbase version, this drive is also not available for European customers.
10:52In Europe, the G45 will only be available as the base petrol X320, the 4-cylinder diesel 20D, the plug-in hybrid 30E and the top model X3M50.

11:16The new X3M50, known internally as the G45, takes the concept of the power SUV to a new level.
11:25With a whopping 398 horsepower and 580 newm of torque, this BMW is a successful further development of its predecessor, the X3M40i.
11:34What's new is that the eye has been dropped from the model name.
11:40And that's not all.
11:42The X3 is now also a class higher in terms of performance.
11:47Under the bonnet is a turbocharged inline 6-cylinder combined with a 48-volt electrical system.
11:52This combination brings the combustion engine to 381 horsepower and 540 newm of torque.
12:02In addition, a crankshaft starter generator delivers an additional 18 horsepower and 200 newtonom.
12:08The result, the X3M50 accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in a fleet of 4.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
12:21Visually, the vehicle in Vegas red makes a strong impression and is guaranteed to attract attention.
12:26The vehicle rims give it a classy touch, and in the interior, BMW surprises with a successful mix of matte carbon and black Alcantara, which is accentuated with stitching in the typical M colors.
12:41This interior not only exudes exclusivity, but also sportiness and dynamism.
12:46The X3M50 is also available in another exciting color.
12:51Dune Gray Metallic, inspired by the colors of the desert.
12:54Particularly striking is the typical BMW kidney grille.
12:58Here with horizontal struts, which are complemented by M exterior mirrors and a 4-pipe exhaust system, which perfectly round off the sporty appearance.
13:07The X3 rolls on impressive 20-inch aluminum rims as standard.
13:12But for those who want even more, BMW offers the optional mighty 21-inch wheels.
13:19On the technical side, the M50 scores with a so-called sport boost function.
13:24Which works similarly to launch control.
13:28This feature allows the driver to get the most out of the vehicle at any speed and thus accelerate even faster.
13:33In addition, the body has been reinforced with additional struts in the front and rear areas, which not only contributes to the car's improved driving dynamics, but also to the vehicle's general stability.
13:46The X-Drive all-wheel drive is fully variable and is supplemented by an electronically controlled M sport clutch in the rear axle transmission, which enables a locking effect of up to 100%.
13:59The chassis of the G45 has also been revised with firmer dampers, harder anti-roll bars and model-specific elasto kinematics.
14:08The driving experience can be further refined as an option.
14:14BMW offers the adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers and the M sport brake.
14:20Overall, the new BMW X3 M50 impresses as a real power SUV, which scores points across the board with its elegant design and powerful features, both visually and technically.
14:33Prices start at 82,500 euros.
