Der neue BMW X3 G46 überrascht mit einer speziell für China entwickelten Langversion. Mit 11 cm mehr Radstand und fast 4,87 m Länge bietet der X3 in der Volksrepublik mehr Beinfreiheit und Komfort als je zuvor. Produziert wird der XL-X3 vor Ort im Werk Lydia, um den Ansprüchen der chinesischen Kundschaft gerecht zu werden. Zur Serienausstattung gehören das M-Sportpaket, eine Panorama-Skylounge und „Iconic Glow“-Nierenbeleuchtung.

Unter der Haube leistet der X3 30L xDrive bis zu 258 PS mit einem 2-Liter-Turbobenziner und 400 Nm Drehmoment, während das Achtgang-Automatikgetriebe für sanftes Fahrgefühl sorgt. Mit luxuriösem Interieur und verlängerten Türen verspricht der China-X3 höchsten Komfort für Fondpassagiere – ideal für das entspannte Reisen auf langen Strecken.

00:00Welcome to the tuning blog video about the new BMW X3 with an extended wheelbase.

00:11Even before the new BMW X3, internally designated G45, officially hits the market, a second variant

00:18is already being introduced, the long wheelbase version G46, which was developed specifically

00:23for the Chinese market. For the first time in China, the X3 will have a wheelbase that has

00:29been extended by 11 cm, giving the vehicle an overall length of almost 4.87 m. The width

00:35is 1.90 m and the wheelbase has increased to almost 2.89 m. The design of the XLX3, as it

00:43is called, is tailored to the needs of Chinese customers. In China, iconic glow contour lighting

00:49for the BMW kidney grille is standard equipment and there are 5 metallic paint finishes to

00:54choose from. The basic model of the X325LX drive comes standard with the M Sport package, in

01:01which many add-on parts are in the body color and contrast with bronze-colored accents. The

01:08higher-quality variant of the X330LS drive, on the other hand, presents itself with predominantly

01:13black surface finishes. Inside, passengers in the rear seats benefit from the extended wheelbase

01:21and enjoy particularly generous legroom. The front seats are equipped as standard with

01:28comfort cushions and a center armrest in which smartphones can be charged wirelessly. A panoramic

01:36glass roof with an optional Skylounge bay creates an open feeling of space and enables atmospheric

01:40lighting effects in several colors and with modern graphics. The first row offers the

01:48latest BMW ambience with a curved display that combines a 12.3-inch driver information monitor

01:54with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen. The entire system runs on the new BMW OS operating system

02:03and is complemented by the interaction bar. There is also a steering wheel with a flattened rim

02:08at the bottom and color-contrasting lighting elements in the center console and in the

02:12door panels. The standard Vganza comfort seats with leather-like covers are available in three

02:19two-tone versions. Crafted clarity glass applications for selected controls are optionally available.

02:28Under the hood of the Long Sheena X3 is always a two-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine

02:33with all-wheel drive. The basic version of the X325LX drive delivers 190 horsepower and a maximum torque

02:41of 310 Nm. The high-performance version of the X3LX drive achieves 258 horsepower and a maximum torque

02:50of 400 Nm. In both cases, an eight-speed automatic transmission takes care of the power transmission.

02:57For those who want even more power, the new X3 will also be launched in China as the M50IC drive.

03:05However, this sporty mild hybrid version with a three-liter six-cylinder engine is only available

03:10with a short wheelbase. It is produced at the US plant in Spartanburg and exported from there to China.

03:18There is no precise information yet about the market launch and prices.

03:21The current X3 discontinued model starts in China at 399,600 yuan, which is equivalent to around 51,000 euros.

03:32Given the longer wheelbase and the more luxurious overall concept, the new addition is likely to be

03:36more expensive. The first long wheelbase version of the X3 with the internal shortening of 46 will

03:44join the extended versions of the X1 and X5 and will be offered exclusively in China and built locally.

03:49With its new size, it fits seamlessly into the portfolio for Chinese customers.

03:57Interestingly, the Chinese X3 is only about six centimeters shorter than the current X5 with a

04:02regular wheelbase. As usual, the main benefit of the growth lies in the improved comfort for the

04:08passengers. Longer doors make it easier to get in and the more generous space turns the second row of

04:14the BMW X3 into a spacious lounge. Comfort features on the headrests and a special center armrest with

04:23integrated wireless charging function for smartphones provide additional comfort.

04:28There is no choice of drive for the long wheelbase version. It is only available as the

04:33BMW X330L corner X drive, i.e. with the 258-horsepower turbo four-cylinder B48.

04:41Just like the long wheelbase version, this drive is also not available for European customers.

04:46In Europe, the G45 will only be available as a base petrol X320, a four-cylinder diesel 20D,

04:54a plug-in hybrid 30E and a top-of-the-range X3M50. We hope we were able to answer some of your questions.
