00:25as the equivalent of a 125cc engine, brings a breath of fresh air to the world of electric
00:31motorcycles. Following the success of the e-scooters, the Chinese manufacturer New Sport
00:36has developed a motorcycle that impresses across the board in terms of performance and features.
00:42The look is reminiscent of classic light motorcycles. However, the riding experience
00:48conveys an even more grown-up roadster feeling thanks to the wide handlebars and low footrests.
00:53The tank is interesting, as it does not contain fuel as usual, but two powerful batteries,
00:59each weighing 23 kilograms and with a total capacity of 5.1 kilowatts.
01:04The electric motor, which drives the rear wheel directly via a chain,
01:09delivers an impressive 10 horsepower and develops a powerful torque of 30 newtonim.
01:14The response can be individually adjusted via two driving modes.
01:18When starting off, the Air Qi Sport initially moves off leisurely before accelerating powerfully and
01:25pulling through traffic with astonishing dynamism. It impresses particularly in dynamic mode with a
01:32top speed of 101 kilometers per hour. Those who want even more power can even accelerate to 126 kilometers
01:40per hour for a short time using the boost function. Impressive for a vehicle in this class.
01:48The Air Sport shines not only with its speed and handling, but also with its quiet driving experience.
01:54Hardly any vibrations or load changes make driving a joy. Only the quiet hum of the electric motor can be heard.
02:01The controls are via a modern TFT display, which offers various layouts and functions via the new app.
02:09Practical features such as the start and automatic start function launch control can also be controlled here.
02:16Also noteworthy are the integrated dashcams for the traffic in front and behind.
02:21However, not everything is perfect. The suspension could be a bit more comfortable on poor surfaces.
02:26And the weight of 186 kilograms is noticeable when maneuvering.
02:33Nevertheless, the RQi gives the feeling of a stable mid-range motorcycle when riding,
02:38especially thanks to the grippy Pirelli tires and the powerful Brembo brakes with abs.
02:44The range of almost 100 kilometers is solid, but as soon as the battery level drops below 15%,
02:49the system throttles the speed to 47 kilometers per hour.
02:53According to the manufacturer, charging the batteries takes a full 7 hours,
02:58which is a minor drawback in everyday use.
03:01With a price of around 8,000 euros, the RQi Sport is in a similar range to conventional 125cc motorcycles.
