Jets coach Mark Milligan on his first meeting with midfielder Max Burgess
Transcript
00:00Max Burge is obviously up against Sydney FC.
00:02When he, for all intents and purposes,
00:04he was frozen out there for seven or so months.
00:07What did you see in him that you thought he could do a job here?
00:09Have you ever discussed that with him?
00:11No, look, I've known, obviously I've played against Max.
00:13I've known Max for a long time.
00:15And I guess, you know, in terms of being able to get him here,
00:18the stars aligned a little bit because I had a clear vision
00:21for what I thought his role would be.
00:23And part of that was bringing through and showing the young ones
00:26what it takes to be a professional.
00:28Because, you know, what he did go through was not easy.
00:31But the way he went about things, I think, you know,
00:33stayed professional, kept working.
00:34When we got him in here, he was in good shape.
00:36He had a hunger that he wanted to keep going.
00:39And that was what was most important.
