00:00Cheers!
00:02On today's show...
00:04Hello!
00:05A couple of sexy deck chairs.
00:07That's enough of that.
00:08Taurus talk.
00:09What's your connection? You just love Greek food?
00:11It's kind of like my favourite holiday.
00:13Beaches, food...
00:16Lifeguards.
00:18A joyful jig.
00:20I'm doing my happy food dance.
00:22My idea of good food is like picky bears.
00:27And giddy games.
00:29I'm just gonna kick it off.
00:31I've broken my thought.
00:33This is the worst game ever!
00:36They do it all the time.
00:37Oh, let's play a game. Let's play a game.
00:39As an ensemble of entertainers scuffle for a stash of cash.
00:43All for charity.
00:45I put the stuff in the thing.
00:53It's day four of our Hollyoaks 30th birthday bonanza.
00:57Ah, Hollyoaks.
00:59A show that likes to dial up the glamour using 25 pairs of fake eyelashes a week.
01:03Fine.
01:05And hoping to bat away the competition tonight.
01:07It's Anya Lawrence who plays Vicky Grant.
01:09So what's the plan?
01:11I'm going for a great vibe because it's just nice, innit?
01:17I also look really good in blue and white.
01:19So, perks.
01:21Ruddy show off.
01:23Feeling confident?
01:25I'm really, like, really breaking it about tonight.
01:29Well, I wouldn't be too worried, considering what we've seen so far this week.
01:34Cheers, everyone. Cheers!
01:35Cheers!
01:36Last night's plastic scouse-themed party with host James Redmond, or Finn Finnegan, was a hoot.
01:44But the food was a bit too fresh for Izzy Smith, aka Frankie Osborne.
01:49There's a fly on my fork.
01:51It was just full of insects dead and alive.
01:56However, Charlie Wernham, or Robbie Roscoe, was delighted with his bread and butter pudding.
02:03It's one of my favourites. I'll be honest, you've smashed it.
02:06Last night was unexpectedly triumphant.
02:10Well, apart from your Bush Tucker trial prawn cocktail.
02:14I mean, that's a health and safety hazard.
02:16If he ain't last, someone's had a bad day.
02:18Let's see.
02:19On Izzy's Mad Hatter-themed night, Anya was smitten with the jam tarts.
02:26That's so good.
02:27But James was less impressed.
02:29I like the chicken and bacon combo.
02:32Because you said it was quite easy, actually, didn't you?
02:34Well, that's the thing is, it sounded, like, quite basic, you know?
02:39Which I thought might suit your personality.
02:41Quite basic, but, um...
02:43And Monday night's host, Nicole Barberlain, who plays Myra McQueen, was on fire with her tropically themed night...
02:55You can't see it, but it's on fire!
02:58Ta-da!
03:00Yeah!
03:01I really liked my food.
03:03That's why I cooked it.
03:04If I had to say he was in the lead, I'd probably have to say Nicole.
03:09Correct!
03:10With a score of 31, Nicole's the person to beat.
03:14So how's everyone feeling about tonight?
03:16I'm looking at you, James.
03:18I'm looking forward to tonight, yeah.
03:20Um, nice to see what Anya does.
03:22I see her doing her make-up.
03:24It's all over the place.
03:25I can't imagine what she's going to be like when she's cooking.
03:28Ooh!
03:29Whoa!
03:30Crikey, I see what you mean.
03:32It saves me some chopping.
03:34Silver linings.
03:36First up, the start oven.
03:38A mezze of hummus, tzatziki and whipped feta dip.
03:41With homemade flatbreads.
03:45She grates the rest of her broken cucumber and throws in some dill.
03:49Next.
03:50She adds Greek yoghurt and a splash of lemon.
03:53So far, so Greek.
03:55My favourite things about Greece are beaches, food and lifeguards.
04:03I see.
04:04Ooh!
04:05That looks fine.
04:07She transfers it to a fancy dish to chill.
04:10Dip to whipped feta, but first she roasts tomatoes for the topping.
04:16They look so pretty!
04:19Then she mixes feta with more yoghurt, more lemon juice and olive oil.
04:24I've never done this before, so I don't know how it's going to go.
04:28Excuse you.
04:29Actually, that's kind of worth that, hasn't it?
04:31I feel like that's what it's supposed to look like.
04:34She dollops it into a dish and rescues the tomatoes.
04:38Ta-da!
04:39Fab.
04:40Gorgeous, I'd say.
04:41Hummus next.
04:42Anya combines tahini, olive oil and chickpeas.
04:45I haven't got any, um, any cumin coming.
04:52Coming!
04:53Almost.
04:54I am scared that the oil is going to spill on me.
04:57It doesn't look like hummus yet.
04:59It doesn't.
05:00When will that happen?
05:01I don't know.
05:03What about now?
05:04That will have looked like hummus, doesn't it?
05:06I can't believe a chickpea can do all that.
05:09She decorates the top of her heroic pulses.
05:12Yay!
05:13Smashing it already.
05:14That's the spirit.
05:17And finally, Anya checks on the flatbread dough she made herself.
05:21Right, so that's finished doing whatever it needs to do.
05:25She divides it into cute little balls and rolls it out with a bottle.
05:28To be fair, like, who has a rolling pin nowadays?
05:33Plenty of people!
05:35This is only my second time making bread.
05:38Ever.
05:40That's very ambitious.
05:41I'm looking forward to that.
05:42I love the sharing vibe where you get a bit of this, a bit of that.
05:45Yeah, I think she's going to smash it.
05:48Onto the main, slow-cooked leg of lamb with lemon potatoes and Greek salad.
05:54I just thought, it just sounds like well fancy, doesn't it?
05:56It does.
05:58I'm not a big fan of lamb, so I might struggle.
06:00Very strong, that.
06:02I love a bit of lamb as well.
06:04Yeah, I'm sweating a bit here.
06:05This looks good.
06:07Anya makes a rub with oregano, thyme, garlic, balsamic and honey.
06:12Yes.
06:13And gives the lamb a good massage.
06:15That's enough of that.
06:17I quite agree.
06:19She scatters onions, rosemary and lemon and adds a good slug of stock.
06:25It's going to be great.
06:26Marvellous.
06:28And it'll be served with the lemon potatoes later on.
06:32I'm doing, like, fish for those who can't have lamb.
06:36So that's Nicole.
06:38Well, I do love a pan-fried fish.
06:41That actually stinks.
06:42But it'd be really nice when it's cooked, I'm sure of it.
06:45We're going to figure it out. It's going to be fine. It's going to be fine.
06:47Dessert next, though. Lemon posset.
06:50I actually didn't know what a posset was.
06:53Great choice, then.
06:55But I just kind of went, oh, lemons, oh, Greek.
06:58Is it Greek?
07:00What, a posset? No.
07:01I found out that they were, like, Italian or something.
07:04I was like...
07:06Not Italian, either.
07:08I think it's an English...
07:10Is it like a cream baked dessert kind of thing?
07:14Correct!
07:15Right.
07:18Now what?
07:19You tell me.
07:21I'm using the lemons themselves as the bowls for the possets.
07:25Adorable.
07:27This is so annoying, honestly.
07:30Ta-da!
07:32I think they look really cute already.
07:35Anya heats sugar and cream and adds lemon juice.
07:39A drop at a time.
07:42I'm going to try it.
07:46What's that?
07:48I think that'll be fine.
07:50Let's put the stuff in the thing.
07:52Anya puts the stuff in the things and leaves to set.
07:56OK.
07:58That's maybe possibly gone.
08:01Semi-alright.
08:03Courage!
08:05And that's probably the most confident I feel.
08:09I know she's very nervous about it.
08:11Oh, keep telling her, don't be, it's OK.
08:12I know Anya can cook.
08:14So this whole, uh, what's a egg, act ain't washing with me.
08:18Looking forward to tonight?
08:20I'm excited, but I am a little bit worried she's going to shut the door on the competition.
08:25I was in Athens recently and we have a lot of Greek food at home, so the pressure's on, sorry.
08:31Prep done, time to restyle into the Greek goddess of the night.
08:36OK.
08:38Come on, you've got this.
08:40First up, waltzing through the Liverpool olive groves, it's Nicole.
08:45Hi!
08:47There you go.
08:48Cheers!
08:50Look, look, I'm all Greek for you.
08:52I know, you look so beautiful.
08:54Oh, I'll go on.
08:56James next.
08:58Hi!
08:59How you doing?
09:00Are you OK?
09:01Kalispera.
09:02Probably more Greek tablecloth than Greek God.
09:05Very Greek.
09:07So Greek.
09:08Yeah.
09:09Next in, in the colours of the Greek flag almost, it's Izzy.
09:14Hi!
09:15Oh, you look gorgeous!
09:17How's it been today?
09:19Um, you know what, I actually had a really fun day.
09:21Did you?
09:22And then the panic set in.
09:23OK.
09:24No, it's going to be fine.
09:26And finally, the God of vertical stripes, it's Charlie.
09:31Hello.
09:32Hello.
09:33Stressed?
09:34Yeah, it's very good.
09:35Good.
09:36Aha!
09:37Hi!
09:38How are you guys?
09:39How are you guys?
09:40Hello!
09:41A couple of sexy deck chairs.
09:42F Haristo.
09:44Fab.
09:45You're going to have to explain that, James.
09:47Are you speaking Greek?
09:48There's a Greek word.
09:49OK, I was a bit confused.
09:50You should know, it's your and I.
09:51I know, sorry.
09:53I think Anja was a little bit nervous, but the vibe in the group was good.
09:58No, the only Greek I know is diamethos parakela, which means two beers please.
10:04Always helpful.
10:05Here's to my night!
10:06Yeah!
10:07Gamma!
10:08Gamma!
10:09Gamma!
10:10What's good?
10:11Coming up!
10:12The lamb!
10:13A disruptive diner!
10:14I'm not a big fan of lamb though.
10:16Have you got any more fish?
10:17Would you like to follow me for a little surprise?
10:22And a dazzling drop in!
10:24Oh!
10:25Oh!
10:26Oh!
10:27He's just perfect.
10:28He can do no wrong in my eyes.
10:29It's the fourth night of our Hollyoaks 30th anniversary special!
10:39Cheers!
10:40Gamma!
10:41Gamma!
10:42Where Anja Lawrence is hoping to bag £1,000 for charity with a Greek themed night.
10:46I'm just going to go and get the starters ready.
10:47OK, bye!
10:48Bye!
10:49OK, deep breath Anja.
10:50She pan-fries her flatbread.
10:51It's like a few minutes on each side.
10:52That's it!
10:53Lock in!
10:54Look at that!
10:55It's a flatbread!
10:56Doing great!
10:57That's my start done!
10:58What's good?
10:59Don't be!
11:00We've seen much worse this week!
11:01And there it is!
11:02A mezze of hummus tzatziki and whipped feta dip with homemade flatbreads!
11:06There you go!
11:07Wow!
11:08There's like loads coming in!
11:09And there it is!
11:10And there it is!
11:11A mezze of hummus tzatziki and whipped feta dip with homemade flatbreads!
11:16There you go!
11:17Wow!
11:18There's like loads coming in!
11:21So just bear with me!
11:23My gosh!
11:24Get out!
11:25Thank you!
11:26This is fabulous!
11:27Please tuck in!
11:28Are we leaving one spoon in the pot?
11:30One spoon in!
11:31Yeah!
11:32They just looked cute!
11:33There needs to be order around the front!
11:35I know!
11:36Thank you!
11:37All right, James!
11:38You're so Monica from Friends!
11:39Me!
11:40That makes so much sense, actually, is!
11:47The mezze all came out!
11:49That's kind of like my kind of idea of good food!
11:54It's like picky bits and everything!
11:56It's really good!
11:57Really?
11:58I've never had that feta comfort with!
12:00Very, very nice!
12:01I'm doing my happy food dance!
12:03Oh!
12:04Get it!
12:05Get it!
12:06Get it!
12:07It's so nice!
12:08Oh, I'm so pleased!
12:09I'm so annoyed!
12:10Thank you!
12:11Well, the starter was really good.
12:13I mean, I was ready for it to be poor, you know, because I've just come back from Athens.
12:17Have you?
12:18You never mentioned it!
12:19What's your connection?
12:20Do you just love Greek food?
12:22I used to go to Greece every year.
12:24It was kind of like my favourite holiday.
12:26I went when I was 18 on a solo trip to Coz.
12:29My mum was in bits.
12:31She was so scared.
12:32Wow.
12:33And it was honestly, like, one of the best experiences that I've ever had.
12:37It gave me so much more confidence.
12:39I did some island hopping and that's where I discovered about the jelly lobster.
12:43We were on this boat and they were talking about how a lobster outgrows its shell.
12:50And so they're very vulnerable.
12:52That's what we've done during our experience here.
12:55The jelly lobster thing lost me a bit.
12:59I'm not sure how we got onto that subject.
13:01Jelly lobster, Nicole's story.
13:03Sometimes when she tells a story, I just glaze over a little bit
13:07because I don't know what's true and what's not.
13:10I do like lobsters, but they're always giving it all out, aren't they?
13:12No!
13:13Dad jokes!
13:14Good night!
13:15Dad jokes!
13:16Yeah, that's enough for today.
13:18If you're all finished, I'm going to go get started on your mains, if that's OK.
13:22They really seem to like it.
13:24Starting.
13:25Yay!
13:26Woo-hoo!
13:27Main.
13:28That's how I feel.
13:29I'm really, really panicking about the main.
13:32She gets Nicole's fish ready first.
13:34It's fine.
13:36OK.
13:37Breathe out for four.
13:38Two, three, four.
13:40And let's have a look at the lamb.
13:43She looks dry.
13:44It smells fine.
13:45Well, if it's not OK, then I don't have another lamb.
13:50So, it just is what it is.
13:52What about the potatoes?
13:54They're a bit sludgy.
13:55Never mind.
13:56Scoop them on!
13:58Slow-cooked leg of lamb with lemon potatoes and Greek salad with pan-fried fish and chips for Nicole.
14:06So, I have the lamb, Greek salad, lemon potatoes.
14:12That's amazing.
14:14Nicole, this is yours.
14:16Every single dish that she brought out was absolutely stunning.
14:20She seemed very nervous still when she brought the mains out.
14:23And I threw a spanner in the works.
14:25I'm not a big fan of lamb, though.
14:27Have you got any more fish?
14:28Maybe I could have some fish.
14:29Or just the spuds and salad is fine, if not.
14:31Yeah, of course.
14:32I've got more fish.
14:33They come in a two-pack.
14:34Of course I have more fish.
14:35She had a spare fish.
14:37So, I was lucky I got to eat the same as Nicole.
14:41Is that a curveball that got knocked for six?
14:43No.
14:44No.
14:45That's a good idea.
14:46I was just kind of pleased that I managed to work out how to cook fish in the space of three minutes.
14:55It was quite tasty, that fish.
14:57It's the first time I've ever cooked fish, actually.
14:59Well, you are doing too well.
15:02So, I have to say, the chips were okay.
15:06The fish is really good.
15:08The potatoes are really good.
15:09And so is the salad.
15:11Yes, it's very lovely.
15:12And the lamb is beautiful.
15:13Oh, the lamb was lovely.
15:15And it was cooked very nicely.
15:17I have to agree.
15:18It's really good.
15:19I really like the potatoes.
15:20They're really soft.
15:22But, like, not mushy.
15:23Do you know what I mean?
15:24Oh, thanks.
15:25So, well done.
15:26The lamb's really nice.
15:27And I'm going to go in for some more, if that's all right.
15:29I just want everyone to have a nice time.
15:32I wish I was a bit more high energy.
15:34I feel like I've been letting the hosting get away with me.
15:38We could play two truths and a lie.
15:40So, you say two things that are true, one thing that's a lie.
15:44But not in that order.
15:45You can mix it up.
15:46I'm just going to kick it off.
15:47Go, Iz!
15:48Go on, Iz!
15:49They do it all the time, them two.
15:51I've worked with them loads of times, Izzy and Anya,
15:53and you'll be having just a nice, normal conversation.
15:55Oh!
15:56Let's play a game!
15:57Let's play a game!
15:58I've never been in a pantomime.
16:01My cat died on Christmas Day.
16:03Aww.
16:04And...
16:05I've broken my foot.
16:07Which foot?
16:08Left.
16:09Ah!
16:10She looked at the crazy part of her brain there.
16:13Because she's lying.
16:14Yeah.
16:15I don't think you've broken your foot.
16:16I just had to think about...
16:17Oh, no, I can't tell you if it's true!
16:19I was going to just have to think about it,
16:21because it was a few years ago.
16:24Oh, my God.
16:25Oh, my God.
16:26Izzy just makes me laugh, though,
16:27because she reminds me of me when I was younger,
16:29just not getting it,
16:30and I still don't get stuff now,
16:31so that's okay.
16:32You've never been in a pantomime, have you?
16:34Oh, my God.
16:35Oh, no, they were all true!
16:37Oh, my God.
16:38This is the worst game ever!
16:41Oh, my God.
16:42Oh, my God.
16:43Oh, no, they were all true!
16:44Oh, my God.
16:45Oh, my God.
16:46This is the worst game ever!
16:51I'm sorry.
16:52I messed it up.
16:53Can we just move on?
16:56Is everyone finished with the main?
16:58Fantastic.
16:59Would you like to follow me for a little surprise?
17:01Oh!
17:04Oh, exciting!
17:07Just through here.
17:08What could it possibly be?
17:10Do you like to come in?
17:11Oh, God.
17:12Oh!
17:13Oh, my!
17:14No way!
17:16Shut the front door!
17:17It's only OG Hollyoaks legend Jimmy McKenna,
17:20Jack Osborne to his many fans!
17:23Jimmy comes in, who we all love to bits.
17:26Wow.
17:27What a great feeling.
17:28I just love him.
17:29I adore him.
17:30It was sneaky for Manya, though,
17:31because she knows we all love him.
17:33Are you going to sing for us?
17:34You'll have to beg.
17:35I mean, really beg.
17:37You look great, by the way.
17:39Well, I know I do.
17:41What do you tell me?
17:42Everyone tells me that.
17:44This is what you were waiting for, by the way.
17:47The main act.
17:48Top of the bill.
17:50Cue music, please.
17:53That's life.
17:54That's life.
17:56That's what all the people say.
17:58You're riding high in April, shut down in May.
18:05It was just too much.
18:07It was so funny.
18:09You know this chorus.
18:10Yeah.
18:11A puppet, a puppet, a poet, a poet, a pawn and a king.
18:17We've been up and down and over and out.
18:21And we know one thing.
18:23Each time we find ourselves flat on our face.
18:30We pick ourselves up and get back in the race.
18:36That's life.
18:37That's life.
18:38That's life.
18:39She knew how to get to us all by bringing Jimmy in.
18:43He's just perfect.
18:44He can do no wrong in my eyes.
18:46But my heart ain't gonna buy it.
18:49And if I didn't think it was worth one single try.
18:53I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball and die.
19:04Bye.
19:05I'm finished up and out of here.
19:06Can you get my car, please?
19:08Yeah, it's the Rolls Royce.
19:10That's the one.
19:11All right, Mariah Carey.
19:13We're not letting you go yet.
19:15That's a masterstroke.
19:17Because we all sang along and it was brilliant.
19:20It's so good to see him.
19:21I'll listen to him over and over again.
19:23He's the best.
19:24That was amazing.
19:25I feel so much better after that as well.
19:27What about dessert?
19:28Oh, yes.
19:29They're really cute, aren't they?
19:31Oh, they're beautiful.
19:32Don't stick your finger in one.
19:33I'm not.
19:34I just saw you.
19:35It was a reflex.
19:36Point with my fingers.
19:37You're very slow, aren't you?
19:39You're just slapping it on a plate, aren't you?
19:41I'm not slapping it.
19:42Let's see if they like it.
19:44Oh, surely they will.
19:45Oh!
19:46Time for Pud, lemon posset with a smidge of crust pistachio.
19:51Here is your dessert, guys.
19:55Oh, wow.
19:56Oh, wow.
19:57Nicole.
19:58Oh, thank you.
19:59Well done.
20:00And I'm going to go and sit in the kitchen and sing again.
20:02So you'll hear me sing on the back.
20:04All right.
20:05I'll see you in a bit.
20:06See you later.
20:07Bye now, Liz.
20:11Do you like it?
20:12I wish I didn't, but I really do.
20:14Oh, I'm so pleased.
20:16Nice flavour.
20:17Got some texture in there with the crunchy bits.
20:20Mmm.
20:21Pistachio.
20:22I really like that.
20:23I like the sharpness of it.
20:24Yeah.
20:25It's not just like the same taste.
20:26You get a couple of tastes, don't you?
20:27Like, different flavours as you're going through it.
20:29Very nice.
20:30I have a question.
20:32Which celebrity look-alike has someone mistaken you for?
20:36Well, I can't remember her name, but there's a photograph of her
20:40really drunk like this.
20:42And it's got Nicole Barber-Lane.
20:44Yeah!
20:47This woman got all flustered and sweaty, went,
20:49Oh, my God, I can't believe it's you.
20:51I went, like that.
20:53She went off, and then she comes back with a book, Jamie Oliver.
20:57Unlikely you'll be mistaken for a chef after this week.
21:01Scores, please.
21:03By far the best night I've had a week, so I have no choice but to give her.
21:07A ten.
21:09All three courses were perfect.
21:12The games were great fun, and then we had Jimmy singing for us.
21:16Anya, I can only give you a ten.
21:19Another ten! Crikey!
21:21Go on, Izzy, what you got?
21:23I literally cannot fault anything with the night, so that's why I'm going to give Anya a ten.
21:29Oh!
21:30It's all down to Nicole to get Anya to an almost impossible forty!
21:36This is probably the best night, so...
21:39Do it!
21:40Do it!
21:41With that in mind, I am going to give Anya a nine.
21:46Oh, Nicole, you've blown it!
21:50Oh!
21:51Still, that does put Anya way out in front of the pack with thirty-nine.
21:55In other words...
21:58Please be true...
22:02Mmm!
22:03In other words...
22:06I love you!
22:10Oi, oi!
22:11Let's have it!
22:12Yay!
22:13Next time...
22:14We are flying!
22:15Sattling girl, you alright?
22:17A gallivanting granny!
22:19Me and Anya had absolutely no idea what was going on.
22:24I genuinely thought that that was his naan.
22:28And one lucky soap star scoops the stash of cash.
22:44Go out!
22:45Give me the toll Res приним Kim!
22:46Thanks, Amanda, for watching!
22:48You see you next time!
22:51See!
22:53See you next time!
