00:00was a 30-day extension that to continue discussing with players on a new collective bargaining
00:04agreement that expires on Friday. Now, Annie reports that under the right circumstances,
00:09the players would accept that extension, but quote, those circumstances do not yet exist.
00:15Now, both sides do not agree to an extension. Negotiations can continue, but that would open
00:20the door for potential work stoppage. This in the form of a lockout initiated by the owners
00:24or shames a strike initiated by the players here. But it all looks like we're probably going to get
00:29one of these, either a lockout or a strike here. Yeah, hopefully not. But as you mentioned,
00:35the important distinction is that while the WNBA has proposed this extension, that does not mean
00:41that the players union and the players have agreed to the extension. And we should note the last time
00:45they had intense labor negotiations back in 2019, they had a 60-day extension before they got to a
00:51collective bargaining agreement. All right. Meanwhile, NBC gave us our latest installment of
00:55Michael Jordan's insights to excellence this week during their NBA coverage. And this week,
01:00MJ admits he doesn't believe in player load management. That, of course, is where players
01:04take games off to rest their bodies over the course of the 82-game season. Jordan says he's not even a
01:10fan of players missing games, even if they're violently ill. He told Mike Tirico, quote,
01:14I never wanted to miss a game because it was an opportunity to prove. It was something that I felt
01:19like fans were there to watch me play. I want to impress that guy way up on the top who probably
01:24worked his butt off to get a ticket to get money to buy that ticket. I mean, I guess it makes sense.
01:30I don't remember Michael Jordan missing a ton of games, but this is so intense for him. I mean,
01:34he only missed, he only played under 70 games in three of his 15 years in the NBA. So that is an
01:40important thing to note. And of course, guys who have, you know, given it their all and put their
01:43bodies on the line are going to support the next generation doing that too. But like, I don't
01:48know. I'm a huge NBA fan maker. I am pro load management because the NBA regular season is far
01:53too long and guys are going to get injured if they're playing all 82 games. And then you have
01:58a watered down product for the playoffs.
