00:26California Attorney General Rob Bonta says the state will deploy its own observers
00:31to monitor Department of Justice election monitors next Tuesday.
00:36The federal monitors, requested by California Republicans,
00:39will oversee a special election on redistricting.
00:43Bonta says he worries the federal team sent by the Trump administration
00:47could be used to intimidate voters or influence results.
00:51Now to a story being missed by right-leaning outlets.
00:54Amnesty International is calling for a war crimes investigation
00:57into a U.S. airstrike on a prison in Yemen.
01:01The group says the strike, in April, quote,
01:03inflicted catastrophic civilian harm and amounted to an indiscriminate attack
01:09on a civilian target.
01:11At least 68 civilian prisoners were killed,
01:13many detained only for minor immigration violations.
